Blue curtain Hera that got tilted every 5 games will never be forgotten
its that competitive spirit that got me here :D
@@HeraAgeofEmpires2 agreed! you're the man
Yessss, these kinds of "looking back" kinds of videos are always so neat.
Let's get some hypes in the chat for that guys
Farm reseeding in the mill 😭😭😭
And some Hera claps! 🙂
16:50 "I didn't even realize he killed all my vils"...too relatable XD
“‘cause you’re hitting the frickin’ eagle, like a dumbass!” 🤣🤣🤣
Modern, professional hera makes old hera look like such a bro lol. Big fan of both!
"he's looking like he hasnt eated in 3 days" 😭
3 months*
Ahh yes, 'eated', the long lost brother of 'eaten'
5:04 “there’s an argument to be made for not…”. “No. There’s not.” 11
Also this was honestly one of my favorite videos on the channel over the last month.
a man who hasn't been changed by money or fame
4:45 - Hera : Back then, the game was not figured out.
Back then, the game was 20 years old. And yet, not figured out! Are you sure it is figured out today?
At least a little more
I mean kinda like chess, between 2000 years old and like 2040 years old there's a big difference
@@aa01blue38 you mean elo?
I'd say that 2700+ elo he keeps means he has figured out something lol 😂.
@@aa01blue38Chess isn't that old. It is about 1500 years old. The Queen didn't move like she does today until about 500 years ago, and the Pawn moveset wasn't complete until well after that.
Past Hera: Who are you?
Present Hera: I'm you but stronger
HYPE IN THE CHAT BOYZZZZZZZ !
Nothing's changed lol
Bro was busting out that 200 apm in dark age 🤣
Nothings changed 😂
- How could I not deny that TC?
- Because you were hitting the eagle, like a dumbass 😂
curtain is back 1111
Sorry to break it to you but there's not much different between old and new you talking 😆
For the 12h stream, you should have a donation goal for bringing back a blue curtain
No need to cringe! We are who we are and thats fine!
You reacting to your old self and feeling so cringe is the funniest thing I've seen on your channel 😂 Love it
I love how he is still as respectful as always towards the opponents
your gameplay definitely evolved, but the real reason for your rise is your state of mind. you matured a lot and became an athlete, big respect!
Hands up who's gonna be here in 4 years for the Reaction of the Reaction video!
Hey some of us just don't chat on twitch anymore. I've switched over to RUclips mainly
I really liked this video, and I think it was an awesome idea to go back and see what old Hera was playing like. It gives perspective to how you’ve changed as a player, and like you said, the commentary actually wasn’t bad at all. I’m not sure how popular this video or more of this video would/will be, but I enjoyed it a lot nonetheless 😁
I do remember watching this live. Time flies by.
8:04 "THAT'S what's cringe" LOL 😂
The “high voice pitch” is a common thing on streamers who are actively daily for long periods of time… over the years they develop a deep voice
I thought it was gonna be a reaction of one of your first Aoe2 games EVER lol, I clickbaited myself 11
Still Good content 😄
i thought about doing that but i can only go back an extra year sadly, I cant go back 10 years, only 5 or so
@@HeraAgeofEmpires2what would this Hera have for elo today?
@@joshmcdonald7472 that is a great question!
Do some more of these and get better at it, that way in four years you can come back and comment on your commentary.
At that rate in eight years we can have a Hera in each corner flaming earlier Heras.
25:52 lmfaooo
"cuz ur hitting the frekin eagle like a dumbaz"
Old Hera is like current MBL. Crazy aggressive and all in 😂
This video was great. I would love a historian Hera series. It would be pretty great to also review some older games from other players (with their permission) or have a community series of this.
I really feel that the AoE2 we see now is the highest level it has ever been, and it is nice to see this belief examined.
It’s awesome seeing how far you have come. Congrats!
Oh Steppe Lancers were all the more broken then. You didn’t use steppes in this game because Mongols got them later in 2020. At launch just Cumans and Tatars had them
4 years from now there will be another reaction video of Hera reacting to this video. 11
Edit: Hera-ception
Please keep making these, as a new player, knowing those litte details mean so much!!
5 years ago, not 4 😢😢 time flies
Honestly the high level commentary is why I started watching your channel in the first place. Then I stayed for the awesome community ❤
Watching dude cringe at himself, always a good time!
ah back in the days when cumans had husbandry and bulgarians having paladins
when 21 pop was considered a fast up time and farming was more efficient on one side of the tc
wait, farm side-bias was fixed? I somehow missed that moment
@@a13ph0 yep, about two years ago I think
This is fantastic! I got into your videos like a month ago, and your gameplay is so smooth. I would lose my mind if I watched someone play like this with keyboard sounds and how you were moving the camera.
Excellent commentary video. What I want to see now is a rematch haha.
Same players, same map, same civs. What would happen?
there was no steppe lancers in mongols back then added later
22:35 except Mongols didn't have step lancers at the launch of DE. Mongols got lancers like 6 months later or something.
Watching this make me realise / feel that Hera got to the top because he stopped loosing against himself.
Hera...you have come a long way both as a player and as a person...Happy to witness this journey as a follower... Allaha bless you!!
Only Jesus Christ can save you.
4 years later you gonna react to this video 😆
i remember watching you in the beginning of de and thinking that everybody else messes around while you grind like crazy on stream. i am convinced that this period helped you immense to catch up. now that you have focused more on the entertainment side of things as you deserve to keep the fun the gap is closing a bit.
You need to look at you more often, mostly because you haven't changed that much on how you talk to the stream and you won't polish what you don't like until you see yourself.
On the other hand, don't criticize yourself so much, at least publicly. You weren't as bad or cringe as you are highlighting.
Is this old hera or young hera though?
old hera looks like he hasnt eaten in three days cause todays hera is absouletly jacked
Totally relatable video ! Cool to see how you worked out game play as you climbed the ladder.
Hype in the chat guys
You need courage to do this Hera, respect.
Don't cringe at your humble beginnings mate, it reminds of how far you have come.
Your commentary is also very good by casually making fun of your mistakes and giving credit to the opponent's play.
I loved this video! I do the same trash talk about my past self when I revisit work I’ve done in the past and see how dumb I used to be. Looking forward to seeing where you are 4 years from now! Congrats on all of your success!
This was great. I'd be really interested to see more stuff like this, especially if you still have stuff from like, early DE tournament games like HC3 or something.
Omg that's why i was getting deja-vu. Not too long ago i was looking for "all-in fudel" games from you or viper because i thought it'd be cool to watch and i have watched this same exact video :D happy to see it again.
GOOD GAME
I wonder if he knows that his name means: "Daddy" in Ukrainian
This is good content; shows you coaching yourself basically.
You talk a lot about what you plan to do in the future in that video. I think you do that a lot less nowadays.
You keep mentioning Steppe Lancers, however this is impossible since Mongols did not have them at the launch of DE. Only after Feb 27 2020, this is Nov 2019.
Man, this takes me back. Cumans domination on ladder, Hera streaming to 200 people because this was before NAC3, the curtains, the WASD click sounds….
Good to know some stuff never changes like the pathfinding, which is still as broken as it was at launch
20:25 "We didn't know about steppe lancers back then". Mongols actually didn't get steppe lancers at this point. That only came in February 2024, 3 months after this video.
Mate, I was expecting a complete noob Hera or something... Don't know if he hired people to tap on other keyboards to make it sound more competitive or what, but... I know I am bad as F in the 900-1k elo, but holy smokes...
Very good idea to review old games and analyze! Keep them up! :)
one thought you shouldnt fault yourself for though is taking risks. you are the worse player in a worse position you should be taking risks. some of thise plays are plain bad, not just risky but the core idea is strategically sound.
nowadays you are superior mechanically and hav high confidence you gonna make better decisions down the line. so you avoid risk.
If this is early DE Mongols dont have Lancers yet.
re recordings: even if you had the recorded game you couldnt watch it as DE loses the replay ability with every update. its actually insane. i can replay my casual games from 2005 but not games from 2022.
I'm just glad you changed your keyboard or muffled it somehow. this clacking hurts.
I do remember this old Hera: more risky approach, relying on superb speed and amazing micro but definitely the present Hera are much more reliable and smart playing (strategy and decision making). This playstyle made you wonder games but the new mentality and knowledge of the game made you won tourneys. Very fun to watch 🙌
Gotta remember that YOU find yourself the most cringe.
Other people realize that 4 years ago was a different time not only for you but also for Twitch. Every beginner streamer acted like this back then.
Only fun to see how you have evolved.
Hello there Hera,
I liked the video idea, yet it kind of pains a bit to see you cringe over your younger self. While there will be some individuals who may dislike or disrespect us here and there, and that happens to all of us, the one companion we will always have is ourselves.
I would love to see you being kind and honoring the young, curious, adventurous Hera. Because of his/your mistakes, you've matured as a player and as a person. Hopefully many years from now you can see this in present and past you.
Recibe un saludo con afecto desde México
More of this, please! I like your analysis about how to improve and how you have improved your own game. You would be analyzing mistakes that probably everyone makes
Feels like just yesterday Hera announced He'd go all in streaming AOE2DE full-time
Ah..... The makings of greatness isnt always pretty at first 😅😂. Gives me hope lol
This was great content. Its like reading an old Facebook post, the cringe was so much fun. The hypes were my favorite, bring it back haha
Honestly I don't think you should cringe over your past self. Time changes things almost always for good.
Love to see some old videos I would've never seen otherwise.
Hera randomly calling kid Hera ‘Lewis’ and then picking up ‘hella’ from him was so cute
I like younger Hera more :) I mean, everything you sayed , is right man. But the thing is, i liked the inosence of youunger Hera alot. Now it feels like everyone turning adult pretty young age and is sad. Is nessessery at one point , but is rly sad
Young Hera was a compulsive gambler with the risks. You lucked out that Nili and DauT never invited him to poker
Wait I’m confused. You could always move camera with the mouse even in the oldest versions of the game. Why was it new for you in DE?
WAIT.... how are you all moving your camera? is it possible to bind pushing the middle mouse and mouse movement controls the screen?
going to the edge of the camera with mouse feels so cumbersome but never considered there might be something better.
"It's so cringe!"
No it isn't , like really isn't, I think you were cute. Thanks for the video!
I think you being super aggressive was good for the viewers, you play far more risk averse now so while it's good it's so calculated that its not quite as up and down.
Maps today are too safe, in my opinion. Back in those days boars, deer and sheep were in random places sometimes, and you could even have your gold near the middle of the map. Definitely there was much more randomness in the game. An eco approach was sometimes a no-go.
Good video Hera, I think we should all leave you hype in the comments, the great analysis deserves it.
Best regards.
great stuff as usual Hera, nice to see how much youve grown over the time
Let's get some HYPES in the chat actually!
I know that feeling of cringeness when you watch something from yourself or listening your voice 😂😂
I really hate that too
not bad liked the video. However, I'm still waiting for that baby u promised, haha
At the time where i started watching you (still voobly) you werent cringe, i would feel the same if i watch myself 5 years ago but actually it was great back then and so it is now!
That was hilarious! Love all the cringing :). I think you were having fun trying things :).
ok, for every 100 games you lose, you have to do a react to your own vids, old ones, tank all that cringe.
you will get so much better now 11
3:11 Me who uses Shift + wasd for moving the screen does feel like a giga chad because I still have wasd for normal hotkeys this way
Heh, it's interesting to see what your past self would do in a gameplay situation. Pretty cool to watch though 👍
The WASD movement is crazy lol, but I won't lie I used to do that back in the day as well
I would love to see a reaction to some of his early torments Hidden cup 3 or one of his first tournaments.
In four years you will come back and cringe about saying "cringe" all the time
This video is hilarious for all the reasons Hera hates it. Dw about being cringe, everyone started somewhere lol
Young Hera: "i lost 3 vills to an eagle, how did that happen!?"
Wise Hera: 😅
You can see so much excitement in young Hera! Was this when Hera just went full time streaming?
