The greatest AoE 2 game of all time was The Grand Melee, Game 7, Hera's Turks v. Liereyy's Bohemians.

there was a game in either NAC 5 or Hidden Cup 5 in which both players cut all the wood across the map. There were a lot of crazy forward castles and raids from both players. I could not find it though,. Does anyone remember what exact game it was?
Not sure if you or someone else has already done it or if it’s even possible, but it would be cool to see a “history lesson” type series where you go over and cast some of the best matches throughout the history of the game
sadly not really possible because every update breaks the ability to view recs. they really need to find a solution to this

When I play against 1100-1200 they play like Hera, when I see a 1800+ casting, they playing like low elo

At 35:00 why does it feel like a fully pop-capped 4v4 when it's actually a 2v2 and both players are under 100 pop? So much absolute chaos, what a game.

Heh, I would guess maybe 700 ELO. They played so chaotically and randomly. It was kinda bizarre lol.
Start was good and organized, but then it descended into chaos and most players play much worse in chaos.
What is elo short for?
@@icemanbmf1952 Player ranking. It's relevant to online multiplayer rankings. The higher your ELO means you win more game matches against other players. Hera has one of the highest ELO in AOE community. 700 ELO is probably like just below the average player these days.

I play Supreme Commander FAF so I know a bit about this kind of structure. Maybe Hera could explain what the heck ELO means. I just know that the higher the ELO, the better the player is.

The reasons for the random villagers are a lot of fast clicks combined with missclicking.
For example you send ur army somewhere, while produce vills and somehow your missclicking way point of TC to the area u wanted to move ur army in, because u were to fast or to slow.
It happens way more often at non pro level as many viewers would probably think.

I'm shocked at that elo how many idles there were. I guess once you have one you may as well have 20? Kind of like when you are being attacked in one place you get tunnel vision?

I don't think that this was the greatest of all time but I am sure we all had games that we thought were epic and well deserved win. I have had game myself where the opponent couldn't believe how I came back and won.
