As a 1400 its quite interesting to see these games.
The micro and execution of both was pretty good but the decision making was lackluster. Thats what i love about aoe2. Its the clash of different styles. Other players have sharp decision making but fail to execute them properly.

You should make a video on how to assess whether you have the eco advantage, because its always a big thing when casting games but you can't read that off your screen ingame

how are they even 1400s when keeping 6 lumberjacks at half an hour and a castle age in?
Arena is Arabia but skipping the walling part in the same way empire wars is RM but skipping dark age. Change my mind.

I know my main problems:
1. Sometimes I don't know what to do best in the particular civ/matchup (which unit combo, transitions, power spikes, etc)
2. But the main thing is when I do, I still can't control everything properly :D I'm too slow and easy getting distracted. As soon as fights start, my eco is a disaster, or vice versa - keeping an eye on the eco - losing all army

Not buidling more Tc After Castle Age is a criminal Offense. They are 1400 elo but i play better than these guys.
11:30 I'd say it that particular situation, make 2 kts to clear out the spears before the are pikemen, and then make full camels, is it bad?

How would you fill the last 50 Pop that he missed? Vills or Trash Units?
I'm no expert, but pikemen will be good because they are cheap and he is floating a lot of wood.
You should constantly produce vils until you reach 200 pop, while setting up a good composition of units according to your resources and your opponents army. If you start floating resources and are at 200 pop, you can delete some vils
Both - usually vil count settles at 120-150 though. If you are at 150 vils and still don't have the res to get pop capped make sure they are working efficiently and you have all eco upgrades (it is common for me to have 40+ idle vils)

As a Saracen Player one question to that matchup: Why not open with drush or maa? Why straight Archer?
Also: What is there best Backline: Arb, CA or HC? For what should I aim as Saracens ?
From what I've heard it's been discovered that a drush is a waste of resources for the attacker because all that it takes to defeat it is 1 spearmen combined with the vills fighting back. Therefore it puts the attacker behind in resources. And the MAA are usually easy to stop if the defender is getting archers to defend.

I am kinda crap and don’t try too hard to get much better (lazy and attention span) but loom is the difference between my town centre being idle and not in the few seconds before forcing drop off to go up with 19-20 vils

What do you feel about the rule of thumb of adding 1 additional production building (miltary or eco) for every 10 vills you have? That should keep you from floating too many resources until you decide to go imp of course
Also this game showcases another good thing to remember which is the rock, paper, scissors of rts games:
Offence beats Eco beats Defense beats Offence!
Offence: Military, siege, all in knights crossbow whatever
Eco: Adding TCs
Defense: Adding counter units, castle walls etc.

no, you have to get loom eventually, Vils die super fast without it. Hera says get Loom after clicking up to Feudal, bc getting loom late never gets punished bc on low elo there are no early attacks.
What do you think to go cav archers in this situation?
Heavy cavalry archers are actually a winning combo against franks. The only issue is that he ended up throwing all of them away when he ran into Frank player base. If you have a mass of 40+ heavy cavalry archer, it is very hard for cavalier to push you.
Against cavs civs i use to go cav archers, its good against both units, but takes a lot of time to mass them.
Exactly... He needed to start going 2-3 range CA as soon as he hit castle age. Since he waited so long, hand cannons would have probably won him the game because they shred halbs in small numbers with less micro and no upgrades.
The webcam and audio look desynced. I can hear Hera say things before his lips form the words. Only by a fraction of a second though, just thought I'd mention it.

WHAT THE ELO MEAN?
“ELO” is a rating system that was first invented for Chess players.
The simple way to look at it is “the player with the highest ELO is expected to win”.
As you lose games or win games, you give and take ELO.
All Age of Empires 2 players start at 1000 ELO. They must then play placement matches to find or discover their true ELO rating. As they improve, they will start taking ELO from others and add it to their own.

@@N.G.T.GGAMINGwatch more of Hera's videos and you will see. It is not that difficult to check it. Also, I think it should be after playing ranked, so if you are still not doing that there probably won't be an ELO for you. I don't play the game, but watched many videos on it
