hera has such a likeable and charismatic personality, plus Aoe2 is still a banger so whatever content you produce for us, I am here for it. But some variety is always appreciated. Everything gets stale if you only produce the same kind of video over and over. Mix up coaching, ladder games, 1vX, 1v1 lower rank with handicap, whatever you feel like. I am here for it.
please take note, Hera and team, I think the most helpful rec reviews for Hera's audience (and for the community in particular) fall within the 950-1350 ELO range. I would love to see some 950 rec reviews.
One tactic I’ve learned from hera that has really helped my game is being specific about what part of your base to defend and wall. I would often get in the habit of trying to wall a lot of territory, rather than focusing on protecting a key Woodline or gold area.
One major thing that holds a lot of people back is that instead of taking the steps to improve, they play down to their elo. They don't correct their major mistakes because no one at that elo punishes them for those mistakes. If you have friends that are 200-300 elo higher than you ask them to 1v1 you and not hold back. It will reveal a lot more areas to improve.
@@2cunem Fun and getting better are the same thing for competitive people. For non competitive people there are always casual games, campaings, the AI skirmish.. or just your level on the ladder. But for people who are competitive by nature, or atleast competitive in videogames like CS:GO or AO2, we have fun by getting better and seeing those ranks rise. And that takes time ofcourse.
Loved this coaching style of video, even though it's for a specific person it helped me realize some things I could clean up in my play. Would love to see more
I have found this video extremely instructive. I make most of these mistakes, but on many of them, actually didn't know that were wrong. Would be really great to see more of these mid-rated games analysed. Thank you very much
tbh im fine with more like this, so long as your multi-people games (1v4, 2v6, handicap hera vs 5 1k+ players etc) keep coming. kinda like you say with this guy : keep it simple, double down on the simple things that work, and then make small switches to improve or test the waters., i approve of this small switch cuz more content is W imo. make your own opinion and take it ez ! ps : one-hand challenge vs 2 1k players when ? 11
These videos are right up my alley. Appreciate the look into the cost and how mistakes like putting resources into pikes cost him a killing blow earlier in the game. Keep these up!
Your content has been a lifesaver as I dive deeper into Aoe2. Your guides on Patreon are top-notch and have helped me improve my gameplay significantly. It's so satisfying to see my feudal/imperial times get closer and closer to the ones on the guide. This type of content is incredible though, I appreciate how you cover entire games and point out beginner mistakes- I often get lost after the guide finishes. Can't wait for more! (only been playing for 2 weeks, so much to learn 😅)
Fantastic rec review The coaching commentary and the humour for memory recall was both effective and enjoyable! More of this please in 800 - 1600 ELO range. Variety of civ also helpful
It feels easier to keep your TC running in castle age especially considering us lower elo players almost always have to many farms relative to the units we are building so we always float a ton of food.
I really like when you cast this level of coaching. It feels like it's more relatable and helps better more people's playstyle. Some people in this rank have the opposite issue though, where dark and feudal age are great, but they get slaughtered in late castle and imp like myself. I would love to see a coaching around that.
Fascinating to see different players' strengths and weaknesses - especially at this level. Some of Yeti Monk's mechanics were amazing (boar lures + deer pushing) while some of the economic management pieces and walling was a bit off approaching feudal. Really cool to see.
thanks for the coaching! I think Yeti is 1100 probably, I know cause I struggled to reach 1200 and this "mistakes" like unit production, a lot of idle tc and no necessary upgrades are the ones that made me stay a lot under 1100. He reached 1200 cause had a lot of points per win for new account, but the time he played against a 1200 lose. If u r like me, 11++ struggling, listen to hera, practice dark age!
More mid-elo games, please! As a roughly 1300 elo player, I learn a lot from these. They’re the ones I go out of my way to watch when choosing a video.
Hera, Learned of you through T90 videos. I would watch your content to no end. I love both of you for the content and more is merrier. But you're talking my language. This was very helpful! I'm not even ranked, but handling the AI for now.
More like this please, this Is really nice to learn from, jeah we need some Hight Elo Gameplay but also need to see some actual faults and how to counteract them!
for me personally it feels harder to not idle my TC during dark age, because I forget it while deer and boar luring sometimes or deer luring makes me forgot to place the house at 15 pop. Also somehow I use select all tcs more from castle age forward, I don't even know why. But if have my base secured, producing out of 3 tcs seems super manageable, but in dark age I feel like sometimes there is too many tasks that have to happen in a relatively small time window and I sometimes fuck up.
You get into a flow state by castle if your lucky... dark age is like putting 1 foot in front of the other for me atleast... kinda clunkly depending on where resources are and if i find em when
Hera, also please upload videos of your Wednesday coachings as well. Especially when you're coaching 900-1400 elo players. They're so helpful, that I always feel like going back to them.
I do basically this same build with about 20 seconds idle in Dark ages still, but yeah once I hit Castle and add TCs then hitting All TC hotkey and queueing villagers just comes more naturally idk. Still Looking to tighten that up
Please 🙏 do more and more and more of these. I watch a lot of your videos, but these are super educational when it isn't you playing. It's hard to play as perfect as you, so these are super helpful. I'm playing on xbox while playing Cross Play. Can you also do more of these for 2v2 as well?
This was amazing video, really enjoyed your explanation. Keep coming them videos. more videos for newer players please. it really works. keep up the good work hope you girding elo for Redbull 💪🏼🥇
Don't take losses too personal. People have been playing this game literally for decades. Enjoy the base buildup, fights etc. You will settle in your ELO where you can start climbing up again.
Watching the knights walk across map with the cbows was painful lol, and the no attack upgrades for knights lol. So lucky blue was not attacking at all
Is there a difference between patrol and attack move in terms on how the unit behaves on the way? I mean with patrol they go back once they reach the destination, and with attack move they dont. So I would use attack move only, in case I am too distracted to cancel the patrol when they reach the destination. Or is there another difference I am not aware of?
Me encantaría entender tu idioma Hera! Sos el mejor del mundo y ahora vivis en Argentina, asi que como sugerencia quizá puedas comentar alguno que otro video en español, o traducir los videos con subtitulos😊
Stemaata spent time walling their base so ofcourse they would have a deficit in ressources gathered, atleast thats my head cannon. But those walls are.. easily breachable as you said yourself. So while they are not solely responsinble for defense and they should just buy you time to rotate your troops to the attacked spot on your wall.. they are not always a great investment against passive low level players. However they should be a habbit you pick up to counter feudal aggression that will for sure start to come up while you climb ranks.
Hera this video is super helpful. Would love to see more of these if possible. Thank you! // Hera este video es super útil. Me encantaría ver más si es posible. ¡Gracias! // PS: I'm 1100 elo
for me its harder to keep my tc going in dark/feudal, i think its because i have a hard time managing resources, and dont have enough food to spam villagers with H key like in castle/imp. So i have idle time too a lot :( thanks for informative vid hera.
I feel like its hard to manage TCS when you are attacking in castle age, it is for me at least, i dont know where to send em to and making farms requires attention
11:15 me describe perfectamente. Incluso gracias a ese comentario me sentí muy bien. My dak age is perfect 20pop (9.15) with 0 experience in rank's. And go castle age under 20min. But I turn into a potato XD
Blue had too little vills and was floating a lot of res at the end, panic mode activated it seems. Looks like me playing RBW El Reinado ladder against a 1k8 or higher opponent 11.
22:44 went for groceries, come back with cigarettes and lottery 😆😆💚💚

Not only great tips in the video but it sparks comments and discussion on discord about how to get better. Love this type of content.

On the other hand it should make fun. And you need a lot of time to work to improve like analyse recordings, watching these Kind of videos etc✌️

But if no one punishes them then is it really a mistake?
@@lukkkasz323that kind of thing is like saying welcome to elo hell.
Love this content, i can relate to this content more. I make a lot of these mistakes. Not making army and bucking to early pressure is my problem.
Loved this coaching style of video, even though it's for a specific person it helped me realize some things I could clean up in my play. Would love to see more
Getting to 200 population focusing on one unit first is a great point of view to think of the game. Keep up this coaching content.

Excellent video, I am stucked in this elo too and it was really helpful to see how some mistakes in dark and feudal ages can snowball.
Fantastic rec review

Clear, concise, easy to follow advice! Been getting a chance to catch up on some vids and have been back in RM games recently. These are very helpful!
really love to see another harsh, honest, to the point content.
More like this please!! it is so nice to hear your input on what lower elo people could improve at
Fascinating to see different players' strengths and weaknesses - especially at this level. Some of Yeti Monk's mechanics were amazing (boar lures + deer pushing) while some of the economic management pieces and walling was a bit off approaching feudal. Really cool to see.

Hera, this is the best sort of content for people that want to improve their game in my opinion, please make more coaching videos they are awesome!
1000% more of these please! So interesting!
Oh yea. I would love to see more of these. At any ELO, but especially at lower ELOs.
I am also around that 1.1k elo. Love to see content like that, feels super relatable and useful

Big fan of this type of video, please give us more!!
That’s the exact thing that is needed to really get started. Great stuff!
More vids like this please 🙏 helps to improve my game as well
Yeah, I got to say Hera really shines with the coaching vids. I learned something today! Thanks!
I'd love to see more of these, it's more fun to see you react to more average players and hear your reasoning in real time
This was excellent. I’d love to see more content like this.
I really enjoyed this. Would love to have these weekly. I learned a ton. Thank you sir!
I know the importance of dark age and feudal age, but a lot of the castle age stuff I’m usually unprepared. I’ll try the the one unit only thing.
for me personally it feels harder to not idle my TC during dark age, because I forget it while deer and boar luring sometimes or deer luring makes me forgot to place the house at 15 pop. this is very useful, from a guy who bought the game the day of release
¡Éste es el mejor vídeo del canal!
great video, easy to understand, fun to watch !
This format is cool, not too long please
One of main problem of Yeti was floating thousands of resources and just getting upgrades, while not making units.
The world needs a Mid Elo Madness coaching from ya
More like this. Practical advice, great that it ends with a challenge
I can't believe blue resigned while floating thousands of res in wood food and gold
Nice Hera, please make more coaching videos for this level
Nice work Hera
Perfect video for me, I love the format
speaking words of wisdom(make it simple) an let it be broooo. great advice.
Liked this, for sure, would like to see more! This is so helpful to a beginner like myself.
Thanks Hera. When the Leafs fail me I can always count on you!
I love watching you, you have amazing knowledge of the game
And yes I wanna see more like this in the 1100-1500 range please!
Definitely need a lot more of this
@15:13 Dark age is slightly harder than castle age for me, because of deer and boar luring, sheep scouting etc
I do basically this same build with about 20 seconds idle in Dark ages still, but yeah once I hit Castle and add TCs then hitting All TC hotkey and queueing villagers just comes more naturally idk. Still Looking to tighten that up

How do i get that little invisible line to show up so I know the circle to build around
Bruh the grouping of knights and xbow waddling back to the base to defend killed me
Didnt know max holloway knew so much about aoe2 👏 very nice
I wanna see more like this
Guys I lost my first ranked team game XD
But I'm taking these tips to my first ranked 1v1, hope to win this time
brace yourself brother❤
It's a rough ride getting into ranked my boy.
Hold on and don't let the losses get you down.
I'm 0-6 so far
Don't take losses too personal. People have been playing this game literally for decades. Enjoy the base buildup, fights etc. You will settle in your ELO where you can start climbing up again.
Watching the knights walk across map with the cbows was painful lol, and the no attack upgrades for knights lol. So lucky blue was not attacking at all

yeah this kind of videos will help like me and my friend

Moooooore like this. Also stuck at 1100... I feel like for different reasons but seeing more and more stuck players maybe I find my problem 11
how many hours of game are average for ppl with 1k/1k200 elo? i'm brand new in game and trying to learn.
for me its harder to keep my tc going in dark/feudal, i think its because i have a hard time managing resources, and dont have enough food to spam villagers with H key like in castle/imp. So i have idle time too a lot :( thanks for informative vid hera.
Is this overlay/Interface only for replays? I think is great how many information it provites for you.
does one unit challenge also works on playing campaign?
I feel like its hard to manage TCS when you are attacking in castle age, it is for me at least, i dont know where to send em to and making farms requires attention
