I am beyond excited to see you back on YT! I have missed you, and can't believe I didn't see that you'd posted videos, so this was a lovely surprise when I searched for your channel to check in. Your makes always have such an incredible finish, your attention to detail and fabric selection is impeccable. I LOVED this roundup! Now I'll go binge your other recent videos! Hope all is well, you keep me motivated, upbeat and smiling :) Thank you!
What a lovely message, thank you for this! 🥰💖 My videos are not very consistent at the moment but the sewing still owns my creative heart... Thank you for watching and for getting inspired, it makes me beyond happy 🙏🙏🙏❣️
Oh, Alisa, it is so good to see you on again! My heart goes out to you & all of those in great distress; loved ones wherever they are right now. 🙏About your makes: your garment construction and styling is impeccable and I really love each video you post. Thank you for putting your heart & time into each one and sharing these with the rest of us. The extra time and attention to garment construction is the best investment a sewist can make, besides quality fabric and a well-suited pattern. Giving you way more than a thumbs' up...more like a standing ovation! I hope that you keep your sewjo and continue to share with us here on your channel. 👏👏👏👏👏
Thank you Holly!!! ❤️ I really slowed down since I first started sewing, and now I do make more time for choosing the right pattern, fabric, like you said.. spend a little more time to baste and press only pays off at the end too. Thank you so much for watching and enjoying my videos 🙏💙💛
I've been postponing watching this video because I knew it would be a special treat, just like you! I'm so glad to see you still flirt with the camera...although not so outrageously! Everything you made is just fab, and my heart is happy you are back. We've all been thinking of you.
Thank you so much 🥰 I think my flirting has somewhat suffered in these past months, but hopefully it will come back into the full swing again when Ukraine wins this war 💛💙 Thank you so much for enjoying the video and your kind words ❤️
How great to see you, Alisa. Your makes are stunning, as always. I've never sewn a VikiSews pattern, but love the details on the trousers you've shown.
Thank you, Elisa! 🙏 Their patterns are my favourite at the moment, I don't have to adjust the length of bodice, green and sleeves to my height - just perfect! 💛💙
As many others have noted, it is wonderful to see you back on RUclips. I don't follow other social media, but have thought of you so very often in the last few months and have hoped/prayed that you and yours were doing well.
So lovely to see you back on you tube Alisa ...we have missed you 💝. I'm so glad that your sewing has been a comfort to you in these unbelievable times 🙏. Really lovely things too 👌💞😘
Thank you Sally! ❤️ It took me a while to get back to sewing.. in the first weeks I was just sat on a bed reading about Ukraine all day long 💔💔 I had most of the things made before the war, but am getting back into it slowly 💙💛
So so happy to see you again! Despite no vlogs from you lately - you have made a lot of garments. I agree that shirts are fun to sew and wear. Like your grosgrain ribbon idea on the neckline. You never sew anything less than first class.
Thank you Lavada ❤️❤️To be fair, I made the most of the garments before the war but was waiting for the new camera to start filming... I do feel that the sewing comforts me now, I couldn't sew for a while and it was not very nice... I will have to practice those pockets for the future makes 😘❤️
It's wonderful to see you brightening up my screen again, Alisa! I always love to hear more about what you've made, particularly your finishing details. I'm always blown away by your attention to detail. You'll have to let all of us know if you find more shot cotton. That shirt is so beautiful on you! Loving your blue tones. 💙
Beautiful Theresa ❤️❤️It took me a while to make this video, there was like a mental block for lots of reasons... I think I just had to voice it in my video and I can now move on and start filming a bit more... Don't know about the attention to detail on those dodgy pockets - both waistcoat and the purple trousers - maybe I could spend a day making loads of testers for those pockets one day 😱
Thank you for the information on Vikisews. How sad the situation is. I hope for the best for you and your family. I’m glad to see you back. Beautiful makes as always.
So lovely to see you back. My very best wishes and hopes for your family in Ukraine. We are following things closely even though we are in New Zealand and I have been wondering how you are doing. It is great you are taking care of your own mental health and including sewing as a part of this. What beautiful makes! I’m very keen to hear about your trench coast. I managed to do the Viki Sews Tessa trench and I’m so pleased with the result (and very proud of myself as the pattern was untranslated so I had to work it out from my previous knowledge and the photos). However, once the war started I stopped following Vikisews, or purchasing their patterns. It’s good to hear the founder has moved out of Russia and looking at setting up something parallel. Take care and great to see you back in the You Tube space.
Thank you Robyn 💙💛 oh wow you made that all by yourself without the instructions??? I'm very impressed! I am also waiting for the new out-of-Russia company to emerge - Viki just had her second baby and is kind of on maternity leave, so it might take a little time... My family and friends are all ok for now. I just wish I could say the same about the rest of Ukraine 💔💔💔💔
You brought a smile to my day seeing this. My thoughts have been with you and your family during this, what must be an horrific time. Keep sewing, find your zen 💐
It’s so good to see you back again. I have thought of you and your family often since the war started. I do hope your family is safe. As always all of your makes are so professionally done. I’m not on instagram so have missed you so much on RUclips. Keep well and try to stay happy.
Alisa, welcome back! Great to hear you voice and see you! Bravo for Viki! I wish her well. They do have beautiful patterns. You pick so many beautiful fabrics! The hoodie (pronounced /hu-dee/)…I believe I heard it correct a few times😊 I found some of the labels my overseas sewing friends enjoy on a recent trip. I was very excited. I purchased one that says “Ta-Da” and one “Perfectly Imperfect.” So glad to see you💙💛 Cheryl
Thank you Cheryl! ❤️The hoodie is an ongoing joke 🤦♀️I'm glad it amuses my loved ones 😁 I also have a thing for those labels, I have a box that is full of them at the moment, I just need to remember every time I make something to attach one to the garment at the end... I think I have the "Perfectly Imperfect" ones too!!! It's lovely to be back on the channel and be welcomed in such a warm and loving way 💛💙
Wonderful to have you back! It's great that you have been able to push aside your sadness a little and have been able to give your creativity a chance to flow. Your makes are gorgeous, as usual - what does it matter if a couple are a bit snug? They'll fit perfectly very soon. Best wishes with everything you do in these difficult times. Much love 🌷💛💙
Thank you Kerstin, that's very kind of you ❤️🙏 I do feel like the clothes I make are some sort of energy protective armour .. Maybe it's silly but I like to think so. I can tell you this - when I lose a size - I have half a wardrobe I will be able to wear and use for creating all sorts of outfits 🥰❤️
It is great to see you back the situation in Ukraine must be a great sadness for you with family and friends to worry about I pray the situation gets resolved . Your makes are great as always keep on making your vlogs and keep smiling God bless you
Great seeing you back on your channel and once again your makes. Some great things there, your birthday dress looks so sophisticated, I can understand why you felt so good in it. I especially loved the Adeline trousers too but being short myself I think I’d have a similar problem with proportions. We met at the Rosenberg stall at the Exeter Craft show in March, it was great meeting you and Pipskilou, and I’m so glad you’re back on the channel. Thanks also for the update or explanation about Viki Sews, it’s so sad that so many people get pulled into political situations not of their making. I’m sure all Viki wants to do is build and run her business and look after her family. I’m sure we all share in your concern over Ukraine and the Ukrainian people, take care and “sew something beautiful “ 🤗
Of course I remember you, we've spent quite a while chatting over fabrics and life, didn't we? ❤️❤️ How about that voodoo pin doll masterclass we were discussing? 😈😵💫💀😘 My heart goes out to Viki, she works so hard and is trying to change her situation as much as she can... What a disaster for the whole world this is 💔
@@Sloths.and.Orchids Ha, the masterclass - well I’ve got extra long pins 😁 I think maybe sewists should rule the world, if we get mad we just churn out another garment, not invade a country 😳 thinking of you and your country lots. Be kind to yourself 😘

Kerstin, the PDF patterns are not that complicated, the main thing for me is to get them printed, and you can choose either thin tissue paper or more robust printer thickness paper... The tissue paper resembles the big 4 quality and is very compact to store 😘❤️
Hi Alisa It's a wonderful thing to see you. I worry about you, your family and Ukraine 🇺🇦 💔. Your sewing makes are lovely. Although I've seen material like the blue iridescent shirt, I didn't know it was called shot silk. It's stunning as is your birthday 👗. 🇨🇦 🇺🇦 ❤
Thank you Leann! 😘 That cotton shot fabric is such a joy to work with, and is a perfect fabric for a shirt.. I hope I can find somewhere they sell it in different colours... Thank you so much for thinking of Ukraine ❤️❤️
Nice to see you back! My heart goes out to you and everyone in the Ukraine. It is a hard situation for the world to be in. How can we stand by and watch this happen? But how can we get directly involved, it would create WW3. Good for you for getting back to doing what you love, you can't make yourself ill/crazy with worry. Sounds like you have been there already but are chosing to look after your mental health. Your stance on Vikki Sews is admirable, it was interesting to hear a little bit about Vicki. I think the Russian people are also victims of this mad man. He truly is mentally deranged I have no doubt of that. You are fabulous, you are strong. Much love to you. Oh and the black velvet stretchy dress? KNOCK OUT!!!!!
Thank you Catherine! ❤️I was in a very dark place for a while, feeling a range of emotions - fear, guilt, pain, dread, anger, more guilt... I think then my survival instinct started kicking in and I came out of that, I also had 2 psychology consultations that really helped me. Nothing compared to what people who are actually in Ukraine are going through though... I think the whole world is the victim of the sicko and his regime.. I hope that someone puts the end to this. And that we can all go to rebuilding our lives and doing the things we love and living in peace ❤️❤️❤️
You get to choose what you sew and which pattern companies you support. You are probably more impacted by the war than any of the people who might comment on your choices. Reasonable people have recognized from the beginning that the war has nothing to do with the Russian people. I’m sorry for the uncertainty you’re facing and hope you find some peace in your sewing & creating.
Thank you Susan! 🙏❤️ I think my main concern is that, like the rest of the world, I don't want to give my money to the Russian economy right now, as they will only use it to produce more missiles and bombs to throw on Ukraine... I am using the patterns I already had and will not be buying the new ones, or paying for any sort of courses or subscriptions, or fabrics, etc. in Russia (like I used to) until the war is over and the government has been changed over. Like I said, now Vikisews can potentially start selling their patterns and employing people from another country, I am all for it!!! 💙💛
Sloths and Orchids Right. Oh, that’s right. It’s hard to remember sanctions might be against people we know or know of. I think you’re threading that needle just fine. I am keeping all of you in my prayers.
Thank you Barbara ❤️ I do feel that Ukraine is the core of my identity.. I'm glad I can speak for Ukraine in my own little way 💛💙 With the Russian people, they are not the government, for sure. But I decided for myself that I will build and keep the relationships on the personal experience level... there are Russians who have been amazing and caring, and there were a few I came across, whom I dropped like a hot potato. Like in any culture, there will be some great people and some two-faced people everywhere you go... 💔
@@Sloths.and.Orchids exactly! I admire your work and attitude. It’s a joy to be able to watch experienced sewists. I’m an American living in The Netherlands (Zeeland). I’m delighted with the diversity of the sewing community and certainly learn more than sewing!

Thank you Susan 💙💛
I did miss you .
Thank you Lorrie 🙏 I will do better, I have a long list of videos to record now 💛💙
Your very presence is a form of support for Ukraine, I think. The people of Russia are not necessarily the government.
Thank you Barbara ❤️ I do feel that Ukraine is the core of my identity.. I'm glad I can speak for Ukraine in my own little way 💛💙
With the Russian people, they are not the government, for sure.
I love it also that with the new technologies we can see and learn so much more than our parents at our age . Very lucky to have this platform and make friends too ❤️❤️❤️❤️
❤️❤️❤️ glad to see you back! ❤️❤️❤️ the rest is told … 🤍
Thank you Polly 💙💛 It's time I came out of my hibernation....
