What I appreciate most about you is the fact you KNOW what you love and what looks good on you! But by the same token you are willing to try new things. So happy to see you’re still an outrageous flirt! ❤
So glad to see you back online! You were a favorite ! Your makes are lovely; great fabrics and the fit is, as always, perfect! I am looking forward to watching and learning from your videos. You look fabulous!❤
Love the color pallette. Leather skirt is a dream. I would wear the white dress to the theater/play, recognition ceremonies. There is no food involved there. Try with a chunky chelsea boot for a more casual look or caramel accessories for sophistication. The aubergine dress- Grommets or studs placed in an interesting fashion as part of design would give the dress a bit of an edge and still feel casual.
Thank you Yelena! Love you styling ideas! Especially the caramel accessories, I've been thinking about getting a bag and shoes in that colour, it's like you're reading my mind 💖😘 The grommets sound fun as well, except that the hole was right in the middle of one breast so probably not the best place for one 🤦🤦 😜
@Sloths.and.Orchids Bummer. You are right.Yikes, Grommets would not be a good idea😃. Not many alternatives there. I really like how you finished the sleeves and neckline. That "raw" finish is pretty neat. We have the same coloring. Naturally, the wardrobe colors are similar as well. I also think we live in similar weather conditions because your choice of staples are very relatable. I'm Seattle,WA. Rainy, gray and gloomy with an occasional sunshine.
Well that's handy, we must exchange wardrobe tips 😚 I think I have a slight olive underdone actually, even with my white skin.. English weather is pretty much the same all year around which means I'm only even sewing for one long season 😁
@Sloths.and.Orchids Its a pleasure to connect with you over sewing. A girl needs her sewing 🧵🪡village💃💃💃😄 Yes on the olive undertone, except I have brown eyes. And the olive is more prominent after getting a tan, so I do have to mind my colors for basics, that they can serve me throughout most seasons. You've done a great job though. Great balance of neutrals and colors. Something to aspire to for myself. I feel that I have been leaning towards neutrals heavily. Time to pull those colors from the stash!:)
Love all your makes! That leather skirt is absolutely fabulous and I really love the houndstooth dress! So lovely to have you chatting away while I’m doing some sewing 😘
Definitely missed your craziness! 😝 I have a few of those patterns (not made up! 🙄) But I have made the Alison dress. Love your modelling - always unique 💖
Oh great!! What do you think of the Alison dress? I'd love to make more but need to find a slightly heavier but soft and stretchy fabric. Do you remember the viscose mix we got at the London show? I should have gotten it in all the colours 😘🥰
Alisa: you are so funny😂 I enjoy seeing your makes and hearing the good and bad…. We all have the bad exoeriences🥲 The faux leather skirt is so pretty; needs a jacket 😊 The first garment, free tee pattern… yep! I think I will be making that one😊
You are so talented. All of your makes look so professional. I absolutely love your leather skirt. I would definitely make a jacket to match . It’s my first time here. I’ve just subscribed, can’t wait to see what’s new for next time
You can make a pie shaped wedge from the armsye down the sleeve under your arm if you have some scraps?? It will not be noticeable AT ALL and will be oh-so-comfortable.... ask me how I know. Lol. Also, I " serged" a hole in a dress and had to make it a size smaller at that seam. I was so sad at the time!! Now??? I can't remember which dress!! I am speaking of your beautiful Aubergine dress. I am taking fabric and pattern notes!! On ALL of them!!! Love your makes❤
Thank you Vicki, I like the fabric scraps inserts idea. I think I will try the dress again when I'm slightly slimmer and see if the rest of the dress fits ok, and reassess it again then. Thank you for watching and for your lovely comments 💖❤️
Such beautiful garments. The jacket really looks good on you, I think you are over critical of yourself. I am so happy that you came back. I’m going to look into trying that free Vicki sews pattern. Thanks for sharing.
I hope you will consider boycotting Viki Sews. By purchasing these patterns you are sending hard currency to Russia. Those transactions are being taxed, so in addition you are providing funds for the brutal invasion of Ukraine and the atrocities being committed. All of our purchasing decisions matter. If you’ve ever wondered if there is anything you can do to support Ukraine, this is something you can do.
Thank you for your comment. I have a long history with Vikisews, long before the war started. I don't know if you watched any of my other videos but I talked about it in detail. All foreign currency purchases are going to Vikisews LLC company house that was registered in America on the 15th of March 2022 - all the documents and information is available on the internet and you are welcome to look.
