Adore seeing these changes to my favourite team! Really feels like they’re addressing the older design philosophy flaws in older teams. I’m phrasing it poorly but I’m VERY excited to see how Warpcoven has been updated
Shredder actually makes sense narratively. Essentially you are firing an expanding net of monofilament at people. So I can see it working like a flamer. It is also in line with the rules they have in 40k where they are torrent weapons.
Really happy to see the changes to the Falchoú (bird). The ability was barely worth the AP, ever. Kind of sad to see that the Aerial Support asset wasn't made into a piece of equipment. I always thought it was incredibly thematic to have your pirate ship bomb the enemy.
I'm glad i managed to get the corsair box a month ago, as my first non-proxy team. They looked amazing and are still looking quite fun to play! A shame i won't be able to paint them in time to bathe in the older gunner rules but yeah, excited to play them asap nonetheless.
Considering you can benefit from the rifle rule even if you dash first, it might be worth considering having the Felarch with a Rifle. I inow it's not the most efficient loadout but having an additional ranged option might be useful.
With the Erudite Hunter rule, is the free Reposition/Charge considered outside the Kurnite Hunter's activation, so when you do activate them later, you could then Reposition/Charge them a second time that turning point? Similar question for the Felarch's One Step Ahead rule.
minor thing, felarch's attack says after an enemy activates. So it wouldn't interrupt a charge fight sequence. Still really strong especially since he's basically a BoK exarch.
My screen cards are abridged but after an enemy does an action in which it moves. And then if you haven't used the bird yet, you strike first instead of attacker. Very powerful
Yes! I have an excuse to use the Wraith Cannon! Yes! 😃 Mind you, the rest sounds great too, but now I finally feel I can finish them and start using them, including the BFG! 😋
So I played against AoD and I was expecting them to take Boltrifles so I selected Mistfield and then to my surprise they brought 6 auto bolt rifles, so I selected equip for scouting with Diuternal mantles. It was cool combing that with mobile engagement for double rerolls, but it sucked completely wasting the one equipment option on Mistfield. Is there any kind of expectation I should have for trying to predict that choice? since I know I’m gonna end up playing against AoD a LOT
I have almost a dozen KTs now but the only Aeldari team i have so far is Mandrakes. After checking out Cosairs and VDT that might change. Anything that can kill Marines seems like a good idea now.
Great guide! Thank you for doing all these reviews! I am building my own Corsair team, a question about the Piratical Profiteers: the wording of it in the faction rules is not too clear in my opinion: contending should mean that BOTH a friendly operative an enemy operative are within range of the same mission marker or objective marker. Essentially the objective is being "contested" because both forces are trying to claim or control it. So for example if my Corsair operative is on an objective shooting an enemy operative far away, the corsair shouldn’t have the balanced weapon rule. What do you think?
Hey, thanks for your vid! Is there any indication in the datasheets or core rules whether the Corsair rifles rule stacks with rending? Like can you upgrade the hit from the accurate rule to a crit if you roll a crit with one of your remaining 3 dice?
If a Felarch with a Neuro Disruptor uses their ability to interrupt after an enemy move action, if they manage to stun the model with the pistol would the enemy no longer be able to shoot etc ? Stun reduces the APL by 1 so I assume it would prevent any other actions right ?
A few places where the abilities you talked about didnt seem to match the data cards on screen? Like the Felarch's one step ahead (card said after activation not interrupting) and the Kurnite Erudite hunter (having to stay a certain distance from the enemy operative). Are the data cards a summary of the rules or the full rules? Wasn't sure if you were reading from somewhere else. Thanks for these previews😊
Hi, i see you are responding to a lot of comment so why not to try my luck and ask something. What should i build with one box to have the best selection?
Does the shaderunner really work as suggested? The vespid flamer has a similar diagram that just shows that you make a line between where you begin and where you end, as fly (which this kind if is) is no longer 1 inch increment, just pick up and put down as i understand it.
@@CanYouRollaCrit damn... I'm surprised it lets you reposition in increments using this rule... I'd assumed it was just one blink to a location, kind of crazy
Hey - I'm confused why the Kurnite Hunter could use his ability to charge their opponent first if they charged them, but then also fight first? You just do a charge and then the actions would go back to your opponent to fight you first. In any case he'd be the defender.
I’m new to kill team can someone explain the Diuturnal mantels to me. I don’t get the “x devastating x” I assumed it meant you didn’t take devastating wounds but that seems broken
I get the sense that overall all factions that have been given a bit more power. I think they are going to need it given how strong elites are looking.
They were getting destroyed by Kommandos and other teams in our local meta, so I'm happy to see them get some nice buffs. Nothing too major in my opnion, they are still a frail team with 9 models, you just get some nice tactical tricks to reward good tactical play.
Corsairs were my first main. I played them almost exclusively until I transitioned to Hand of the Archon at the end of Season 2. I couldn't be more excited to see Corsairs having their moment in the sun!
Hell yes! I’m excited for the Power from Pain rule, I can’t wait to see the rest of HotA’s rules. And hopefully BoK get a little more help. I think the new format is going to lend well to Elves.
I'm glad they buffed everything for this team, I was like "man I'm not gonna have to take a warrior anymore but there's still a reason to take at least 1 and I like they there's plenty of options that way. A bit sad to see S&D get replaced with Infiltration but everything else seems like really good changes or at least usable cuz I swear I never touched half the ploys on this team"
The Fatedealer no longer being able to Dash and Shoot with its silent profile feels like a pretty big nerf. Even if you get it into a Sniper position and all that, you effectively have nothing to do after shooting because you can't move at all and are probably away from any objective or mission action. It also feels weird considering the Heavy Gunner can Dash and Shoot. I don't see myself bringing the Fate Dealer much now especially considering almost every other operative (including the regular Warriors) seem more useful now and you can bring both Gunners. With only 8 Spots and basically 6 must takes (Way Seeker, Soul Weaver, Kurnathi, Kurnite Hunter, Shade Runner and Duelist) I think the Gunners and Warriors compete for the last 2 spots with the Fate Dealer and I am not quite sure why I should take it over either of them. Also sad that the Felarch lost Coordinated Strike it was a nice ability.
@@CanYouRollaCrit I feel like the fatedealer is the new heavy gunner. Can you use the psyker ability to swap it into a concealed position? it would be restricted from moving, but you werent going to move it anyway.

This is exactly what I wanted out of the elf pirates. Another team I can't wait to play more of thanks to 3rd edition!
I really appreciate your coverage on each team for 3rd edition! My friend got corsairs to start, and im thankful youre here as a resource!

Bird up!
Kurnathi can charge 6, then dash 3, because their charge range is now 9.
Yeah!

I'm so happy Wraithcannon is good now haha
Note that the rifle rule doesn't prevent you from making your free dash before shooting (and get into cover with a move after shooting for example).
Oh yeah missed that!
very tempted by these.

I wish killteam would implement 9th ed WH rules where heavy weapons could use their entire movement distance at a minus one to hit penalty in some way
Kinda, but would break weapons like the Wraithcannon
