    I've never been more relieved than hearing that cover rules have been simplified. Going through cover to teach my friends how to play KT 2nd ed almost made them toss their teams to me and drop the whole thing lmao

    It seems that the new Vantagepoit rule makes Saturate a really good rule for Snipers. For Vet Guard(Death Korp) gettin Saturate on every Weapon for 1 CP really is a nice Ploy

    Great vid! Also, in the section on injured, you said it doesnt say that your move cant be less than 4, but in the move stat part of the datacards section it does still say that

    Guard now is improved because since it's just a free shoot action and not an 'overwatch' your Hit stat is unchanged (unless it's point blank shot). That, and like you mentioned you can also counteract as well. Really nice change to guard, definitely stronger now in a number of ways! :)

    Climbing does not go in increments of 2" the only thing that it states is that the minimum climbing distance is 2", which means that if you climb something that is 3" tall tou will only spend 3" now, before it was 4".
    Also, one thing that i wanted to ask... Vantage points are light terrain, but it does not say anywhere that it is transversable. My question is: if you are climbing a building from the inside, can you go through the vantage point terrain to end up on it?
    Thank you in advance, i would love to see a video explaining how to climb buildings from all sides.

      Nah you can't climb through Vantage floors unless they have the accessible trait like om Bheta Decima (:

    I'm a little bit confused on the clarification of cover in relation to light terrain and heavy terrain are they stackable buffs
    And also if they can draw a line from any part of their base to all of the opponent space does that nullify cover?

      Depending on how the targetting lines work, you can make sure terrain isn't intervening

    Very informative, especially regarding what is needed for each style of play. GW don’t do a great job of informing players as to what they need for how they want to play (eg just solo)👌

    I have to wait 2 weeks for my Rulebook, so there is something that i really want to know:
    Is move (reposition) speed for most of the teams 6 inch and dash is 3? Can i move+dash 9 inch now, or are the some changes?

      Yeah a lot haha. Each operative/faction has their own move stat now so it varies

      Thanks! Fly is no longer a core rule sadly so it depends on what each operative's/kill team says for fly

    I am confused with the third rule of Vantage terrain, what is considered connected?, this means that you cannot use the heavy rampart of the upper floors of Volkus for obscuring? Thanks!

      Yeah, so any part of the building you're on won't provide obscuring

    When using counteract, can an operative perform an action that has been performed during his activation?
    For example shoot during his activation and then shoot while counteracting?

    I’m still kind of confused by seek. Hypothetically does it mean if my opponent is in conceal but visible behind light cover, I can still target them? But they just still retain their cover save as if they were an operative with an engage order behind light cover?

    I wonder how is x" devastating X going to work in melee (if it is still a thing, i.e: the fellgor cleaver) cause now it deals damage when you retain the dice, not when you use it, which means that you deal damage before striking with the dice in melee?

    Can someone perform a guard action in gallowdark after the last ready operative (of both players) performs its last action of the turning point?
    I had a marine player trying to argue they could perform an on guard shoot action after my last operative spent its final APL because it was “during their activation” while I argued the activation was over and there are no other ready operatives for either player left in the kill zone. Maybe irrelevant, but for context they had a different operative also on guard perform a shoot action after my final operative spent its first APL and they were trying to do another shoot action with a different on guard marine after my operative spent its second, and final, APL.

      Obscured is granted from heavy cover

Because previous edition, you wouldn’t be able shoot at them regardless of their order. I suppose the question is… how protective are smoke grenades?

    Hmm... just started watching this. Based on the Corsairs having 10 operatives in the picture (and you saying in your other video they're still a 9-operative KT), and Angels of Death only 5, I think I can assume the pictures are not completely representative?

    Can't you not Guard -> Shoot and then Counteract -> Shoot in the same turn? Cuz Guard is a Shoot action and you cannot Shoot twice?

      Counteract isn't an activation so not bound by that limit. Ergo you can shoot again (:

    I don't understand the new seek rule. If operatives can not use terrain for cover, how are they retaining cover dice?

      It's ignoring their cover for the purposes of targeting with seek

    First player has better counteract potential. I think it balances the extra cp ok enough.

    Will they be update kill teams like Hearthkyn Salvagers to the update 2024? I haven’t seen any changes to them yet so I was wondering how that will work.

    not being able to reposition+dash to get more movement for climbing is really annoying... slow 5" move teams will literally not be able to climb or get vantage at all?? Necrons/heirotek just can't get on vantage points anymore? Or is some terrain 3" tall? from the examples provided in the book, it seems they are all 4", meaning 5" movement models can never climb?

    I can't believe they didn't change visibility. My group will largely ignore visibility rules in favour of checking whether the base is visible, but as written this is essentially a reason for proxying things like the Reaper Chaincannon with a model with a bolter clutched to the chest. Same for stuff like icon bearers who will now have to bear that icon in their pocket.

      Annoying but you're describing modelling for advantage which is cheating and banned at events with modelling for disadvantage ruling
      Unfortunately I don't think GW will ever change it

      @@CanYouRollaCrit I mean, I don't need to tell you, obviously, but that's fucking insane. I have the Voidscarred captain built with his sword mid swing in a wide arc and the Death Korps confidant with his sword held in a defensive position before his face. Is the latter modeling for advantage? Where even draw the line as long as it's a legal model. I hope one day GW comes to their senses and create rules which actually allow you to normally use the fucking models they sell.
      Then again, I only play at home with same people, so none of us cares and we go by a healthy: "In the real world this guy would not be standing like that" approach.
      It just doesn't feel nice to have to ignore rules.

      Star wars legion has standard silhouettes that you can use for LoS. Makes it easier to play the game with models jumping off rocks or flying.

    I think you misunderstood a few rules:
    1- the movement cannot go lower than 4". It is in a separate page but it is in the book, look for it.
    2- when you described the dash action, you said that nothing changed, but now you cannot climb... During dash action.
    3 - bast -> secondary targets must have visibility from primary target
    Torrent -> shooter must have visibility with all targets
    Also, terrain conected to the vantage point where you are on does not obscure, you do not mention it, but i think it is super important

    I really hate, that the Main Studio uses this stupid true LoS nonsense for every game (worst in 40k). Necromunda visibility rules (what part of the model counts) are much better… with the current rules major conversion are either modeling for advantage or quite a disadvantage 🤨

      The laser has the bonus feature of summoning every cat in the area. My cats will catch it eventually.

    37:00 why would you retain a crit-save when two normal saves can also be used to block a crit in shooting?
