Just a wee tip .. My wife and I have just returned from a short break in Liverpool. During our time, we bought all zone Saveaway tickets. These are all-day tickets and work on buses, Merseyrail trains and even on the ferry. These cost £6, if purchased directly from the ticket office at Lime Street Station. Buying elsewhere means you need to pay an extra £1 for a plastic MetroCard, although this would be for the first purchase only. We took the ferry to Seacombe, then a bus to Hamilton Square from where we caught a train back over to Liverpool Central. That trip only took about an hour, so we had the rest of the day to explore elsewhere, using the same Saveaway ticket
China Town in Liverpool is the most venerated by the Chinese because it was the first established outside of China...way before San Francisco.. Our Chinese residents were here long before us Irish. The city of Shanghai built the arch to celebrate the fact that the Shanghaiese arrived with the sailing ships, centuries ago..
So lovely seeing Liverpool, I've not been there in years and years and years. Pub culture tip, drop your empty glasses off at the bar if you want to be nice to the bar staff.
I know your trip may not have been the longest, but anfield has to be in the video. One of the most famous sporting stadium in the world. Anyways, fantastic video. From scouser.
"Scousers" have their own type of language. They take great pride in their city and it's unique culture. Last years Eurovision Song Contest was held in Liverpool.
@@kyleandmadie haha...The Lakes, next. Let's hope the weather was favourable. Wales is a rainy place, like Scotland. No doubt the reason those races kept invading England for some dry land. Looking forward to the release.
So the two football ⚽ teams in town are Everton(Blue) and Liverpool F.C.(Red). The city is named for a mythical animal called the Liver bird. In it's beak is a piece of Laver seaweed which is a further pun on the city's name. Goodison Park is where Everton play and Anfield is home to the Reds. The Everton crest is a really small jail sometimes called Prince Rupert's Tower. The Brits love their footie!!!!
I am Scouse and have lived in Liverpool all my life. The name comes from Old English meaning 'muddy creek', the creek in question has long since ceased to exist. It emptied into the river near The Royal Albert Dock. I've never heard of "Reuben's", people from Liverpool generally don't visit The Albert Dock much, it's for tourists. Liverpool has the oldest Chinatown in Europe. Liverpool shipping lines traded a lot with China. Liverpool's twin city is Shanghai.
You went to Liverpool, and didnt visit the Cavern Club !!!! Absolute sacrilege !! Im supposing you must have visited Liverpool before, in which case I will forgive you. If not ? I will be gobsmacked !
I love Liverpool.. brilliant vibe! But my.god. Dan done you dirty in London! You were better 'self guided in Liverpool, than relying on Dan (A non-Londoner) try to guide you in London! Such as shame... I hope you go back to London and do it properly!
The best city I've been to in the UK.
Best place in England bar none,,,, brilliant vlog guys👍
glad you visited my hometown. Liverpool's Chinatown is the oldest in Europe.
good to know!
Thank you for loving my city ❤
It's great to see you enjoying my home city. You're welcome back at any time!

Glad you enjoyed visiting my hometown. You are welcome anytime! Give me a shout and I'll give you a history tour!!
That church is really cool. I like that they do wedding in there under the sky
St Luke's is interesting but the two Liverpool Cathedrals are amazing! ( and I'm an atheist!).
Truly a great English city, with tons and tons of history old & new. Glad you've both enjoyed it ✌❤
We agree!

You clearly missed the photo of the Beatles sitting in the booth inside the Grapes.
you only scratched the surface of what liverpool has to offer visitors
i love Liverpool
So you should now be familiar with "Scouser" Then you need to be blue or red. Lots of Irish went there to work on the docks. Stevedores!!!
I never knew that’s what they were called! Good to know 😁
"Scousers" have their own type of language. They take great pride in their city and it's unique culture. Last years Eurovision Song Contest was held in Liverpool.
"Scouser" comes from the dish, Scouse. It's a meat stew that originated from "Lobskaus", which was brought to Liverpool by Norwegian sailors.
Royal Albert dock
It's called The Albert Dock not Albert's
enjoying it
😄

Ahhh that makes so much more sense now! Thanks for the info :)
I read somewhere Liverpul (Liverpool) was old English for, muddy water.
Yeah the name Liverpool comes from the River Mersey looking like Liver, a pool that looked like liver. Really dirty & dark in like the 1200's

@@martinquirk7468 Well Everton beat up on the Scousers!!! Not a good farewell for the Klop.
If you used the motorways to the Lake District you passed our house. Oh it's Albert Dock sorry!!
Our next video is up in the Lake District, so we probably did!!!
It's Royal Albert Dock

It's a shame you didnt get the best of the city though.
Half day in Liverpool ?! Why visited Liverpool then ?? What a wasted of time watching your video.
What do you mean, half day is not enough? Or ?
The 5th largest, not 4th.
