Kangaroo Island SEASCAPE Oil Painting Adventure - Plein Air, Tonal, Atmospheric, Aerial Perspective!

- Today I'm on an oil painting adventure at Australia's majestic Kangaroo Island.
The Island is free from feral animals, such as rabbits and foxes, making it renowned for its spectacular wildlife. Koalas, glossy black cockatoos, wallabies and kangaroos, just to name a few.
Kangaroo Island, also known as Karta pintingga, is Australia's third-largest island, after Tasmania and Melville Island. It lies in the state of South Australia, 112 km (70 mi) southwest of Adelaide. Its closest point to the mainland is Snapper Point in Backstairs Passage, which is 13.5 km (8.4 mi) from the Fleurieu Peninsula.
The native population of Aboriginal Australians that once occupied the island (sometimes referred to as the Kartan people) disappeared from the archaeological record when the land became an island following rising sea levels several thousand years ago. It was subsequently settled intermittently by sealers and whalers in the early 19th century, and from 1836 on a permanent basis during the British colonisation of South Australia.

Another masterpiece! We loved Kangaroo Island. The way you’ve captured the different blues of the ocean is awesome...as well as the wake left behind by the boats! Such a fine eye in really seeing what you’re looking at. I love the richness of the foreground...those chunky clumps of grass amongst the bare linen feel really dramatic. If ever you want to come up to the Blue Mountains, we have a little house with a spare room. There are some great spots here...though, thinking back, the Ottawa Forest in your neck of the woods is pretty as well. We live in such a spectacular land of contrast. I absolutely love your impressions of our world. Thanks

Hey thanks mate! I use the tape for a nice edge on the finished work, but it doesn't aid me in any way whilst I'm creating the painting! Hope this helps :-)
A gorgeous location and once again a master piece. How do you keep the flies and other bug away off the canvas? I have a couple of paintings that if you closely you can see the stuck in legs, I call them a feature. Thank you Richard, can’t wait to where you will be going next.
