Can’t wait for the Livescope install video, my brother and I have been scratching our heads on how to install the transducer & wire on our Terrova (without spending another couple hundred $).
Mark on your tarova do you ever have any problems when you put it in spot lock the boat will stay in the same place but do 180 degree turn when this happens I am heading south it will turn back North enjoyed the video thanks
That's because of 2 things, 1. You dont have your boat scale set properly, and or 2. And the most likely reason, your not stopping 1st before you hit spotlock, and your not facing into the wind or current 1st as well.
So I’ve got an aluminum 16ft bass boat, with livescope. Wind destroys me.. blows me around like a leaf. Do you think a 55lb terrova will hold me in spot better for crappie?
@@MarkBlackstock how many hours are you getting out of single day of fishing? Not continuous but spot lock on certain hotspots, maybe just light jogging to a new close spot within 200 yards, then running spot lock after you get there.
Hi Mark, I have the Terrova and i purchased a Helix 7 to pair it to. How much was the pan optics addition or do i already have it with the transducer that cam with the helix?
Is that terrova the 12v 55lb ?? If so how does it perform? I have a 175 txw wanting to upgrade the edge minn kota 45lb to the 12v terrova 55lb for spotlock on brushpiles for crappie any input is appreciated Thanks
Yes it is a 12v 55lb 45” it is a great choice. My only thing is if you want livescope/Panoptix it’s a pain to adapt mounting options of transducers to it. If had to do it all over I would spent more and got an ultrex due it being more like the edge in that it deploys the same.
Hey John, I have a 175txw that came with the 45 pound edge which I didn't like so I upgraded to the terrova 55 pound thrust. I love the terrova but do yourself a favor and get the 80npound unit. You can't get enough power out of the 55. In spotlock on windy days the battery dies in no time, same with heavy current. I just sold my 55 and got a 80. Wish I would have just done it from the beginning but people said it had enough power, it doesn't
I took my Classic XL to a Tracker dealer and had them mount my Terrova so if there is a problem they will have to do the repairs. The service manager told me that he was familiar with the cracking problem and that mine shouldn’t have a problem. We will see……
I'm looking to upgrade to the terrova very soon. I would rather do the trolling motor first then the electronics later on
I’ve been waiting this video
Install video for livescope will be out this weekend

Coming soon!
Totally agree I set my on 5 at the start off the day and thats where it stays
I have an 80lbs thrust on a 16' skiff and I can feel 1-3, it's very subtle though, good for minor adjustments before hitting the spot lock.
Mine does the same thing you are talking about. No power until it’s on number 4
Nice topic Mark😁hope to see more fishing videos next year
Great job thanks

The wind or current will dictate boat position. Spot lock will hold the location.

Hey why can I watch this video? I want to know what you think. Every time I click on this video it says something went wrong.
It played for me just now.
Still not working for me do you have it set so you can’t play it on your phone or something?

I put a 55 lb terrova on my pro guide v16 and it does fine in the wind
Under 20 mph wind you’d be ok.
@@MarkBlackstock yeah that’s about the extent that I’ve tested mine. Keeps me on my crappie spot without fooling with the anchor
Mark, did you make the video showing mounting the livescope to the Terrova? Thanks
No I made a few variations of it and it sucked.
Mark looking to upgrade to something with spot lock. If you had to do it all over would you choose something different?
I’d go Ultrex or the Garmin unit they aren’t cheap be in hindsight better overall.
@@MarkBlackstock I just picked up a couple Garmin 93SVUHD units on the BP sale so definitely something to consider. Thanks man!
What voltage and thrust is that Terrova? Nice thorough explanation on your set up!
12v 55lb 45"
@@MarkBlackstock Sweet, I just ordered that exact motor setup for my 17' Alweld 1748 vv tiller.

Mike I have a question. What remote do you have on your Terrova?
Minn Kota I pilot with Bluetooth remote. Non color screen
Hey mark have you installed the plate under your trolling motor or had any issues with bow cracking ? Just picked up a 12v Terrova

im building my own frankenstein boat
Panoptix is only for Garmin. Hummingbird is the 360 north of 1500
Thank you. Have you ever thought of replacing your terrova motor head for the Ilink
@@davemonaco103 no
I run Garmin units so the link won’t benefit me unless Humminbird wants to sponser me

I plan on livescope but on a seperate pole
