    The sound reminds me alot of the 996 GT3 R or 996 GT3-RS, which is a good thing. :D
    And it looks amazing.

    I definitely prefer the sound of the 997 GT3 RSRs over anything now. They had such a smooth seamless exhaust note it seemed like!

    At least the GTE/GT3 cars dont disappoint, loud, fast,and look great! FIA is worried that these cars are getting almost as fast as LMP2s. Not sure if they dialed these cars down. The AMG GT3 was superfast!

    • @TomF1F1Gameplaysandmore
      @TomF1F1Gameplaysandmore 7 лет назад

      How close are they to LMP2's? Any good comparisons?

    • @Shootrace
      @Shootrace 7 лет назад +1

      Fast in straight line speed against the old LMP2, that's all. These GTE cars will run 3.50's at Le Mans whereas new LMP2 cars will be around 3.30'.
      Tyres make also a big difference as we can see in the USA. ;)

    • @hulley5223
      @hulley5223 7 лет назад +1

      Not "was" superfast, but "is" superfast. Buhk and Perrera won that Blancpain GT Sprint race Sunday at Misano by 20+ seconds. The other GT3 manufacturers needs to bring their cars into the next stage evolution, or come out with new models because the Mercedes is eating up the completion pretty much wherever they go.

    The Rsr of 2-3 years ago sounded a lot better. This is still alright in comparison to say the Ford but the outgoing RSR was so raw and beautiful sounding

    • @togera77
      @togera77 7 лет назад +1

      the RSR from 2-3 years ago was a 911 from the 997 generation or the early 991 generation. with a centered dual exhaust exit. this one, uses a cornered exhaust exit. like the way older 996 generation

    • @DavidKFZ
      @DavidKFZ 7 лет назад

      Mach-77 so the centered dual exhaust exit is what's making all the difference here? Is that what the Porsche in this video has? ruclips.net/video/BeeIiyAypzA/видео.html
      Seriously, the sound that beast is pushing out is godlike

    • @togera77
      @togera77 7 лет назад

      exactly. and to reinforce that, you can also make a Mercedes SL600 sound like a Pagani Zonda just by changing the exhaust ;) thegarage.jalopnik.com/how-to-make-a-used-mercedes-sound-like-a-pagani-zonda-1611782156

    • @DavidKFZ
      @DavidKFZ 7 лет назад

      Mach-77 That's amazing! So how does the exhaust change the engine note? Is it to do with length like how you change the note a trombone plays by extending or shortening or far more complex such as corners and other things?

    • @togera77
      @togera77 7 лет назад

      it seems that the most important parts to change the note are the collector and the exit. notice also the famous Georg Plasa's BMW 134 Judd. the engine is a Judd DB V8 3.4L. an LMP2 engine. and it sounds like a F1 without getting over 11 000 rpm. it has a single exit on the exhaust and the collector is probably also different from the LMP2

    What is the purpose of the flashing red light on the back of the car? It doesn't appear to be a brake light, as it continues to flash as the car accelerates.

      ah wait I cut the beginning of my sentence, didn't see it. I meant to say it's on to increase visibility when it's wet/raining and it's also torque reduction light, but I'm not sure on the RSR. Mostly just for safety in pit and bad conditions.

    is it me or the cars of this generation sound completely different from 5 years or 10 years ago for example, im my country there are 911 gt3 cup and ive heard them and in my opinion they sound much better than this, and there are also other cars that sound rare, like ford gt gte, 488 gte, m6 gt3
    porsche 919 well is ok, ts050 too, but 10 years ago cars didnt sounded like this, is it the turbo era?

    • @ZDY66666
      @ZDY66666 7 лет назад

      Paper Plane Palooza I'm not that into racing so idk which cars are turboed and which aren't but if an engine IS turbo charged, it sucks away a lot of air, and sound in the process. It also will change the sound by some degree. Different depending on engine or set up but sound definitely changes compared to naturally aspirated engines

    • @togera77
      @togera77 7 лет назад

      10 years ago, there was the 911 RSR (997) wich had a centered dual exhaust exit. just 2 years before, there was the 996 GT3 R and 996 GT3 RSR wich both had a corner exhaust exit. like this one here. it sounds very similar between those 3

  • @Kerbhunter_Alex

    ^Why doesn't it sound so high pitched anymore?

    • @hulley5223
      @hulley5223 7 лет назад

      It sounds different from the cockpit. There is some dashcam footage of this car from the IMSA series at Sebring 2017, and you can definitely hear the high-pitch turbo whistle. In this video, all you are really getting is the exhaust sound as the car pulls away from the camera. It sounds awesome from inside the car.

    • @Kerbhunter_Alex
      @Kerbhunter_Alex 7 лет назад +3

      It doesn't have a turbo...

    • @wmejia4122
      @wmejia4122 7 лет назад

      MonGnoM My guess is due to the engine placement (mid engine) and the difference in the exhaust, that that is where the sound difference comes from.

    • @Punjabi192
      @Punjabi192 7 лет назад

      The exhaust is does not converge, so the frequency isn't as high as the old car. Change in frequency = change in pitch.

      MOTORSPORT_FAN this one is mid-engines for racing purposes only

    • @togera77
      @togera77 7 лет назад +1

      not only mid engine. the displacement doesn't have anything to do with the sound. the exhaust does this. compare this sound against the one used in Le Mans. 2 different exhaust: this one is a cornered exhaust exit and the one in Le Mans is a centered dual exhaust exit. the same goes for Aston Martin with the DBR9, the lola B08/60 and the Aston Lola DBR1-2: the DBR9 and B08/60 had both side exhaust exits. the aston lola had a centered dual exhaust exit. wich makes that high pitched noise. the 991 here sound very similar to the old 996 RSR with those exhaust. but we're used to the 997 and early 991 rsr with the centered dual exit ;)

  • @Snow_OwL217

    Sounds like the 996 RSR, I think.
    Little bit...

  • @jasondepieri2485
    @jasondepieri2485 7 лет назад +2

    the competitors for the top versions of the 911 are already much faster in straight line, for example, the mclaren 720S needs 8 seconds less than the 991.2 Turbo S for the 0-300 kph, and Ferrari and Lamborghini are close to the british supercar, therefore I'm going to think that the typical layout of the 911s is approaching its limit... it's a pretty big problem for Porsche!

    • @peterlustig464
      @peterlustig464 7 лет назад +7

      Jason De Pieri The McLaren has 140 Bhp more than the Porsche and in Race Tracks the Porsche ist Most of the Time as fast as the Others around the track 😉

    • @jasondepieri2485
      @jasondepieri2485 7 лет назад

      1) But in some way they are competitors on the market. Unlike Porsche with their 911s, the competitors have no problem with the packaging of their engines, therefore they can easily reach higher digits for power and torque (and they're already doing it). Don't misunderstand me, I would buy the 991 TS the same, but the performance gap is widening, and for some customers it isn't negligible.
      2) I've taken a quick look about the lap times:
      991.2 TS vs 488 GTB (fastestlaps):
      Hockenheim Short 1.08.50/1.07.00 (+1.50)
      Le Mans (Bugatti) 1.47.93/1.44.28 (+3.65)
      Vairano Handling Course 1.12.94/1.11.52 (+1.42)
      991.2 TS vs 675 LT (zeperfs):
      Hockenheim Short 1.08.50/1.07.20 (+1.30)
      Vairano 1.12.94/1.10.10 (+2.84)
      Sachsenring 1.32.30/1.30.52 (+1.78)
      Le Mans (Bugatti) 1.47.93/1.44.05 (+3.88)

      Jason De Pieri by having engine in the rear they are automatically unique and they stand out( not to mention the cult following and the legacy) Porsche is cheaper than other exotics you listed, and often punches above its weight (idk what gt3 RS times are). we'll see what new gt2 can do.

    • @jasondepieri2485

      It's because '911' is the iconic name, so they use internal codes to define generations (just like F## for BMWs and so on) but still call it a 911. Porsche always use three-digit numbers as internal codes for all the cars - I think originally it was the same as the model name, until they had to stick to certain ones. Type-991 is the 911 we've had since 2012.
      More confusingly, it replaced the 997, which replaced the 996... and no, I don't know why they didn't use '998' either!

      yeah they realised the most successful road car and most successful race car was using the wrong config. No just that the rules help mid engined more then front or rear mounts, the old rules were fantastic for rear engined cars same reason why corvette is going mid engined as well.
