Loved this conversational format guys. Just make it longer, like a podcast. I'm seriously considering buying an EV by the end of the year and this one seems to make the most sense. Again, longer conversations with more nuance and humour please.
Awesome, glad you’ve enjoyed it. Since this is the first drive these are just our first impressions, barely 100km of driving between the both of us. Once we get the car to test for at least 500km, we’d love to offer more depth.
It’s was a very good discussion . I’m planning n researching to buy ev car for last 3 years finally I have ended up in punch ev . 99 %percentage no one tells about the battery chemical combination which is very important for the life cycle of the battery . The company say lithium ion but the sales people tells we use LFP battery ( lithium fero phosphate ) . I’m really confused . It would be great help if you could tell me in comments reply about the correct chemical combination used in punch ev and also in upcoming ev vedios
Guys, this format is also amazing. And I like the other format where you are “out on the field” as well. To top it all, is the excellent camaraderie that you both share. Keep up the awesomeness bros…!
I have already booked an EMPOWERED LR. The only complaint I had is the space at the rear when compared with HYUNDAI EXTER. I cancelled the booking of Exter to buy my first EV, compromising on space.
@@danielvipin7163 person sitting behind will not feel comfortable. i am 6’2” so it is bit difficult for me to sit back in this car with the seat adjusted in from of same height. So i will be compromising here.
Guys, you haven’t talked about the warranty / cost of battery replacement. I heard from the Sales executive that you don’t have to replace the entire battery unit but it has like about 400 compartments of cell and can replace only those cells which are weak and each costs just above 1000 bucks. Do you have more information on this? It’s better you put another video detailing this as this is another important consideration.
I love the way you said you were sorry to say there were no glitches. 😂 This must have disheartened a large contingent of Korean fanboys on cyber prowl 24/7 promoting Hyundai Kia and badmouthing Tata cars.😅😅 I am not a fanboy of Tata but yes I always root for home spun brands of Tata Mahindra. And they're doing a fabulous job. Facelifted Nexon is the best looking SUV today, both above and below 4 metre. That purple one is really drool-worthy. Coming to Punch EV, they have killed whatever little competition they had like Citroen and MG Comet. This will set the sales charts afire. Because, very soon we will see a new round of fuel price increases right after election. May even cross 125 rupee mark, who knows?
The Citroen eC3 is just too hard a sell now with the presence of the Punch EV. As for the Comet, the buying audience for it generally has very specific requirements/wants from their car and it isn’t really a Punch EV alternative
Please make a review of charging infrastructure in cities, towns and villages which is an important issue before buying EV. Do we have reliable power supply and charging stations along highways? Which highways are lacking these facilities?
Empowered and plus varients are overpriced by 60k, for that price they should have provided 45kw battery pack, Even real world mileage is only 260kms for LR while it should have been 320+
Hey bro, fuel cars claims some around 21kmpl means always it will not get 21... But depends on road condition, driving style, and maintenance procedure decides economy... In the same way... Punch ev claims 280 km for 100 to 10 % .. after 10% it will cruise at 40 to 50 kmph and will give another 30 to 50 km range... As earlier said this range will be on the highway... For rural roads it will become low... And in city it will be too low... But inthe end it is a good ev... With good features... Always know one thing... Select a value for money model
24 kw tiago ev lr we own now 9 month completed 13k km the range is dezired by 3 things how we drive keep wh/km as low as possible be light footed do cruise so we get 190-230 realworld usable range its the geography decide it in inclination obviously going to be less range 180 max but while going 350 km with ac on at 24 'c 90wh/km we got 250 doable
This is much better than 'driving+explaining'. I personally hate this fascia of Punch. Their aesthetic team is amazingly putting off the first impression factor. Altroz, first gen Nexon and now this ev face. The bulbous silhouette factor is hampering the SUV'ish face. As an Indian we owe Tata as a dedicated EV manufacturer.
As your loyal subscriber I feel we need this kind of board room discussion on CRETA 2024 ...in detail.. comparing it with compitition.. It will help many make a confident buying decision.. Please give a second thought...
Firstly, I prefer this format. The analysis always brings out more details that can, and usually are, missed out in the First drive reviews. I havent seen the car in person, let alone drive it, but from what I have seen in the media, the punch.ev does look like a compelling package. Sure, its expensive, but it sort of justifies the price like Tushar said. And to be honest, Punch.ev is a proper compromise for interior space and footprint to drive in a metro. There may be a slight compromise in rear kneeroom, but most of us mere mortals stand below the 6ft threshold. Adding to that the fact that Punch.ev is not cheap, mostly brings it into the space where the Gen-Z / Single/Couple or a nuclear family would constitute most of the owners. So if its only two people or two adults and kids at the back, it would still be very ok. What I am not Ok with is the missing spare wheel. Sure, it doesn't come in play everyday, but when out on the highway, in the middle of nowhere, especially if its late evening or night, you wouldn't want to depend upon a puncture repair kit. A safety net of spare wheel is always welcome. Otherwise I think its a great product. Just hope its stands the test of time. What I would like to know in your first review is how it performs as a typical Indian family car, 4-5 adults with a weekends worth of luggage, going up the hills/ mountains. How badly does this effect the range.
Simple solution to the indicator feed taking over the infotainment screen - use an Android phone! 😂😂 P.S: They should really fix it. The allure of the kata hua seb weighs heavy on many people
The price will be justified after calculating the compound saving of running an EV rather than a petrol or diesel car for a time period of around 8 or 10 years. And cars are not mobile phones which you could switch every now and then. At least not me 😅
New Punch EV LR broke down twice on highway and twice near home within a week and less than 570km with Battery issue, currently in service centre. Please avoid Tata Motors Cars as their quality control is abysmal. Please don't be scapegoats and lose your hard earned money and mental peace.
punch has very bad interiors.. has very bad looking, 3rd grade black plastic on the dashboard and doors etc. the touch buttons look cheap and are inconvinient to use while driving the car. seats are very uncomfortable, even if compared to cheaper card like i10 or i20. i didn't like the car much. The LR variant seemed like a bit overpriced. Tata doesnt provide any information about the annual depreciation, above which a customer can expect tata to fix the battery. nor any information is available on the repair cost of batteries. For example, if you wanna know the cost for replacing 10 percent of the overall battery cells, that information is not available with even their sales or services teams.

Not an LFP
As per our discussions with Tata’s product team, the Punch runs the same li-ion battery tech as they’ve used in the Nexon.
A champion Blockbuster ❤
I Booked empowered+ S and waiting for delivery
Considering that bigger ICE cars are taxed higher than electric, is it possible to get Harrier EV at 2-3 lac more than Harrier ICE?
Totally

By when we can expect Prismatic battery in Tata Punch ev.
Make video on Advanture Lr bcz top varient doesnt make sense to buy at that price

You guys did not talk about high speed stability, handling, cornering, body roll etc 🤨
High speed stability is very good, the other aspects we didn’t get to check extensively enough to comment on as these are just our first impressions.
We expect you to make a comparison video between punch EV and nexon EV
As you people mentioned that the rear seat space isn't that good, i was curious to know how much of a difference it is from the regular Punch

Can ev cars go underwater by upto how many mm?
Range as per youtubers is around 250km with AC on instead of claimed 421km, not good enough for long drives.
Real world range will be in the 280-300km ballpark. Something we’ll test ourselves in the next 100-0% range test

Why do companies so grossly over estimate the range ?
Great discussion/review overall love your combo #zigwheels
Appreciate it! Thank you for watching!
I like the two dimensional logo. Look a bit vintage-ish.
For SUVs like these , isnt there body roll ? Why do people prefer these instead of sedan which is more fun to drive

Interesting review with some great "punch" lines !?:)
Did anyone notice the body and bumper colour differences?

What is the real world range?
Expected to be around 200km with the standard range model and 280-300km with the Punch LR
