This represents the caliber of the Choir of the West a generation ago, under the direction Dr. Maurice Skones. Sadly, it has devolved into a chamber choir that hardly tours.

Couldn’t agree with you more. Maurice Skones son was a year ahead of me in high school. I heard the choir of the west many times but PLU lost that beautiful choir tradition. They are a nothing compared to what they used to be. It’s sad. Concordia and others have maintained their traditions thank heaven.

There is an old addage that you build your choirs on the male voices because the female voices are a dime a dozen and so few male voices to be found. I think you found them all..
