I had a clio rs200 and it was quick! Until u drive a Renault and feel its character, you wont understand them. They are beasts.
I ordered my megane rs trophy edc in february and received it 14 days ago... the car is pure porn... fantastic to drive,responsive and the grip is outstanding... its like its glued to the road... and the exhaust is very good... the edc works very good and quickly changes the gear... i have it with standard renault sport seats with alcantara and they are the option to choose.. i tried those recaros and they are not comfortable belive me... plus standard ones are heated.. recaros arent.... and the ride quality is insane... the way that car goes into corners... 👏👏👌👌🥳

GKY hey... i payed 39.400€ with all options... so all the options i mean all only recaros and panorama roof not... everything else including warning and safety features and with winter tyres included and free services till reacihnig 100.000 km... i would never buy a car like this used... it is much better if u order it and you know how you have driven it... especially at the beginning
@@matickravcar7461 okay thanks for the advice, the car has only about 1500km however so i think it just passed the break-in period.
GKY sometimes those 1500 is like 150.000... a car like this must be driven very slow and 3500 rpm max till 4.000 km made... good luck ;)

@The Legend of Texas Sure, that can happen but not more common than any other german "premium" car anymore. Those are actually worse on reliability these days. Besides Renault ain't all French anymore either. And another thing is that the RS models never had much issues.

@@tmkongen I can tell you that there are many more french engineers and suppliers who designed this car than japanese. Also focus and settings are exclusively made in France by Renault Sport on the test tracks and on RS headquarters near Paris.
Still the best car channel on the internet/RUclips. Love the POV as always. Loads of info about the car. Top speeds, sounds, car walk arounds, everything us car guys/girls want.
I don't like Renaults but glad you are expanding your videos into as many manufacturers as possible. Time for the new supra drive... And the new z4. Need to test drive more Japanese cars though. But great anyway :)
I think this car is blistering perfection! I wouldn't like any all wheel drive, automatic, double clutch whatever whatever.... i like the fact that Renault makes modern sports hatches with the same old school recipe, it's the same recipe since the 80's but with modern materials, analysis and execution. Still the same fun, engaging and analogue fun cars. I wish they sold these in my country but they don't... one reason to move elsewhere haha!

daxosm my guess North America. They don’t have Renault in US and Canada.
Renault's "sport" version with "TURBO" were a lot more agressive in the 80's. Ok, today there is a lot better performance but the driving sensations and the turbo response in the 80's were more brutal and a little bit dangerous because the chassis were not as excellent as today.
To me, the most brutal and dangerous RENAULT ever made is the Clio V6 phase 1 in the 2000's.

This is the normal Trophy.

I drive mine as a daily and it’s absolutely fine stiffness wise, but then I’ve driven cup chassis RS’s for years. Absolutely love mine!

This 4 cylinder FWD is so insane! It’s so hungry all the time, the sound is sooo good! I love it! This is as mad as this video, even more to me as I bought it with the EDC automatic gearbox. I never drove anything like this before, and I drive a Porsche Panamera 4S.

Who cares. The People Who goes for 0-100 and 100-200 times on the trophy misses the point on the Car. Its build for fast road and track use. Not for small sprints. :)

I drove an RS280 and didn't feel the 4 control the way he, or some other youtubers describe it. It just feels like the car is eager to turn in and pivoting around your backside.

Renault nowadays is one of the most reliable car brands as is more Japanese(Nissan) than european;)
The majority of car makers have badges galore on their special models yet, Renault seems to do the opposite. A "Trophy" badge on the rear would've been adequate.

Both are great and you wont go wrong if you choose either one. They are feeling different typeR is easier to drive to the limit while Megane has its own character and a bit learning curve

1.8 is exhausted at high rpm so you can feel a whole in the engine power at high speed thats the only bad point 👍 Mecanic gear box is fire

Victor Matei ur comparisons are completely based on track but people who buy this are mostly gonna daily it. It’s not that special to be the best hatchback
@@Buzzshot_GW For daily use it's one the best if you observe the price/options ratio. Also remember the 4control, not a gadget: give more maniability and turning radius in low speed at the city or while parking for example, a good argument for a daily city use.

Er is teveel vervorming, tip, gebruik een goede camera, met een 50mm equivalente lens, dus als je filmt met een apsc sensor zoals een sony a6400 fuji xt3 enz, dan neem je een 35mm lens, zo heb je die vervormingen niet meer

Manual always best option for sports car
I had this car for 6 months and It was sporty and comfort was not great, obviously.
I loved it, but what I hated was the manual transition. It was so clunky. Never felt smooth.
2nd thing I hated was that your profile was never saved. Every time I sat in the car, I had to change into sport profile from eco, because it never booted up the one I had on last. Super annoying
In the facelift model, you always start in Mysense mode. You can configure Mysense with all the Sport mode characteristics so it is the same as sport mode and you will start with those customisations. Otherwise it really is just 1 press of the RS button to switch from Mysense to Sport mode.

whoever say this is the king of FWD in Nurburgring doesn't know what's going on. It's NOT even the Trophy R but the Type R FK8 is still the FWD king in Nurburgring. the Megane Trophy R lap record is not entirely correct if compared to Type R lap record. The Type R is still the faster.
It's kinda fun hearing about that how this engine is so much more aggresive at that momment 8:09 or it's just me

Hello AutotopNl. (Thanks for producing great content). How does the high speed i.e. 240kmh+ stability of a megane rs (trophy or normal) compare to similarly priced hot hatches ? I noticed side to side movements : are they due to the 4 wheel steer ?
Anything Trophy will be bouncy at top speed and on bad surfaces. They are not top speed hot hatches, they are handling hot hatches. If you do a lot of motorway, get anything VW, way comfy at those speeds. This being said, if you enjoy a good handling car, you should drive test the RS and RS Trophy. The cars are so so good and underrated!
Damn this thing's probably quicker than a Nismo 370Z now (or just as quick).

Not really, at least when compared to the rivals. Type-R also has 400, Focus RS has 440, AMG A45 has 475 etc.

@Renault Turbo Where did I say it's slow? Just that there are competitors with more powerful engines. Besides, the record was set with a Trophy R which is much lighter than the regular version.
@Renault Turbo For the record, I really like this car and I'm seriously considering buying it, but it wouldn't be because of its straight line speed.
I am usually not a big fan of French automobiles especially Renault. However, la Mégane, is a beautiful exception. I would love to buy a Mégane when my kids are able to go to school all by themselves. For the moment I still have to chauffeur them around, hence a larger car.
