All advice pointed to changing out the VTEC solenoid which I did (simple job but PITA to get to). The car was good for a day then set the same code again. Trouble is it goes into limp mode at 3k RPMs, gotta do something about it. Trying to figure out my next move.
Fortunately we have a driving school so there are other cars she can use, but we want to get this one usable again! Then one of these days when she gets a different car we'd like to turn this CRV into a training car for the school. It's been a great car and aside from MPG it would be an excellent training car.

455K is promising. Purposely bought a 1998 Honda Odyssey for the fam in Ohio in '13, now only have 230k. Has been excellent, just changed the original alternator and radiator, that's it. Put in a can of Seafoam every other oil change. I think the engine actually runs stronger and smoother than when I picked it up! Love this van and the four doors. That rust though...!!

Highest mileage car (showing on the odometer) I ever witness was a very well used and average looking Saturn LS 2001 model. It came in for an oil change (the usual Quaker State 5w30 bulk & fram filter) 693,000 + miles / ran just fine

I thought this would be a Toyota for how much Scotty loves them. Was shocked to see a CR-V going so strong. Hopefully it makes it to 1 million!

I had a 89 S-10 blazer with a 4.3L vortec that had over 450k miles and the guys still driving it. My current truck is a 2000 GMC Sierra 1500 with a 4.8L vortec that has over 390k miles and still going strong. Just had the alternator go out after 21yrs.

I drive an 89 camry V6 with 175k on it. Probably the only car this old you can daily drive that has no problem keeping up modern traffic.

The AC compressor broke down on my 2016 Ford F-150 after 2 years 😢. Fortunately, it was still covered under warranty. They also had to replace the condenser coil, probably the faulty compressor clogged it up. Hondas & Toyotas are famous for reliability 👍

Them 2.4L four cylinders are excellent engines them and 1.8L are the best engines in my opinion. They truly are all in one type engines. 455,000 miles is an incredible amount. I don’t think it will hit a million miles. At least not without a new transmission and some internal engine work. Other components will go bad also, suspension and features etc. However, he definitely got his money’s worth.

I drive for Uber in my 2007 Toyota Camry LE with 166K miles and twice I had customers telling me to turn the AC down because it was getting too cold. This is in a near 100 degree weather with dew points in the 70s. Love it.
