Amy is pretty much default Boom personality nowadays so I wouldn't doubt it,except maybe the flipping the script part. If anything they'd just make it like Boom where they both tiptoe around the issue.

Let them be what sonic CD was. Let Amy be super sweet and shy, but very passionate. Then sonic is awkward about a relationship but is very open to a friendship. They could probably reference twinkle park by having them go on a date but it gets thwarted by eggman capturing Amy.
realistically is relationship sonic and amy have in boom is actually adorable. Everyone knows they like each other and even they do but they struggle to express it to each other properly
