Ever since I saw the first movie when Sonic was alone in the baseball field, I knew that if there were sequels, the other characters would finally show up and of course in the next movie, Tails and Knuckles played baseball with Sonic at the end of the movie so I'm not surprised if they brought back the baseball motif in the third movie
0:36 The way they look at each other feels oddly similar to a precise shot in the Sonic Boom TV show where Sonic and Amy did the same thing. It's a huge stretch to say but I wonder if that is meant to be a reference to it since the shot is also fairly well-known.

My speculations for Sonic Movie 3. 1. The G.U.N commander would be the one who shot Maria 2. Shadow might die at the end or survive and be found by Sonic Knuckles Tails and the Wachowski’s and might join their family at the end. 3. Sonic goes into his dark form and nearly kills Shadow for attacking Tom but Knuckles and Tails stop him 4. Shadow might take Tails to the ARK because he reminds him of Maria. 5. Metal Sonic 6. Gerald Robotnik’s execution video shows him getting shot

Loved that Amy has the power to light up her quills just like Sonic and Knuckles. Also, why didn’t Robotnik get sucked out into space from explosive decompression after Sonic busted through the glass window? Sonic, Shadow and the gang are aliens (not humans) but Robotnik is human.
