This song is actually uplifting…the dude found out his girl is a cheating skunk, and while weak men would moan and cry about how miserable their life is, this song is about a dude who says to the cheater: “GTF outta here!”
REO underrated in my opinion, really great group with many hits, as others noted. Don't Let Him Go is one of my favorites...saw them a few years ago and they killed
REO was one of those great bands that were better live than their studio tracks! The LIVE VERSION of this song is GREAT,& the guitar solo...OH,MY THE GUITARIST UNLEASHES!!!
This song and several others from this album were part of the soundtrack to my adolescent life. I LOVE this song. Thanks for the memories, you guys. I can't get enough of your channel. :)
This track and the album High Infidelity were everywhere in 1980-81, just so many great songs on that album. Have seen these guys with Styx on a couple of tours together and they both still sound great. All the 80s feels for sure at those shows.
You Guys make me smile. Watching you discover these songs and groups helps remind me of how my friends and I also used to sit around when they initially came out and hearing them for ourselves the first time. Good time, good times indeed :>) Thanks and curious to see what you 'discover' next. Cheers!
I was lucky enough to see them in their prime in the mid 90’’s in Anchorage Alaska front row! Priceless! You gotta see Gary Ritchrath live solo of the”flying turkey trot”! One of the most underrated guitarists!😉👍
This song was Gary Richrath's answer to fellow band co-leader Kevin Cronin's "Keep On Loving You" ... Love that tidbit LOL There is no way you can even imagine how huge this album was. It was unreal! It hit a BOOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The album title is a play on the term "hi fidelity" (or HiFi) as stereo systems used to be described when they became popular. It's also what we modeled the term "WiFi" from.
Love this band. It’s great to see you guys enjoying yourselves. I also enjoy the banter and fun facts you share with us regarding each band. I’ve learnt a lot! 😊
You guys are 100% rite me and my friends ran around everywhere with the windows downs song blaring and us singing along. Summertime wind rushing thru ur hair feeling the vibes the lyrics just damn rite living the moment it's was great as hell. I still remember it well. Remember when it hit the air waves we absorbed it the place the time Al of it still runs thru my vains even today
Huge arrangements, huge vocals & HUGE sound! OMG! Big, big sound from back in the day! Like a true blast from the past! A time when bands still actually played (well) their instruments, with no synthesized stuff. Just awesome music! I think this one is my favorite by RSW! Oh and after watching and liking about half a dozen videos the last couple hours, in order to get the vibe y'all are projecting; I am yr latest sub! As of this tune! Oh and I see ELO, so here I go! Rock on! Aszneth 😀🤘🥃
@@roberthughes2402 Yup….”Don’t Let Him Go” is probably their best I love….but, also….Take It On the Run” and Time for Me to Fly” are among my favs out of many I like.
Nick you respond to guitar riffs like me, like it touches my soul. Plus the album title is a play on words. Back in the 60's the stereos were called HiFidelity or HiFI's and they just added "in" to it.
I think this song it where they got the album name Hi Infidelity (cheating) a play on Hi Fidelity (stereo) Have you heard or reacted to ROLL WITH THE CHANGES yet? Great banger!
Several American & Canadian bands of similar sound, was not necessarily heavy metal , but considered heavy , I read in the 80's magazine, James Hetfield said they wanted REAL HEAVY METAL PLAYED AND THEIR JOURNEY BEGAN
Gee, don't want to be hogging the comment board, but...hey, when you have a suggestion, what ya gonna do right! So imagine this, its 1975, you're 22 years old, single, in pretty decent shape still, got yourself a steady girlfriend, an O.K. job, a decent bike or car to get yourself around in, life is more or less doing you a solid. Come the week-end, its time to party. Get the gang together and head out beyond yonder in the country for some camping. Campground ain't new to the picnic, and ship you off to a distant pasture 'cause they rightly know your not likely to turn in at anything near a decent hour, are ya. All good, doubt if the wildlife will give to much of a mind, so you set your tents in a large circle and separate them by your vehicles to give you what passes for privacy, ...right... Your buddy finally gets to show off his new car speakers and opens the night with "Slow Ride" by Foghat. You get yourself a few adult beverages and maybe a little electric lettuce to chill the night out and settle yourself in. Yup its gonna be a good night ahead... Be the first on the block to do a reaction video of Foghat's 1975 release "Slow Ride" Foghat is an American-based English rock band formed in London in 1971.The band is known for the use of electric slide guitar in its music. The band has achieved eight gold records, one platinum and one double platinum record, and despite several line-up changes, continue to record and perform.
Kevin play's the hell out of that acoustic guitar. Gary lays down a solo from hell..these dude's are not a joke. This whole album rocks. Too bad you weren't alive in the 80s. You missed out big time.
If you want some fun. Then then take a listing to "I'll follow you" or "Over the Edge" I like "Say you love me or say goodnight" And at - love song - to the music would be; "Rock 'n roll star" Don't forget "the lyric" to those songs.
Love this song,if you want some serious views, react to some Rush!!! Xanadu-Exit stage left Red Barchetta Marathon-live in Cleveland Spirit of Radio If you react,Rush fans will come (in their droves!!)
There ain't nothin like the Power-Ballad. And REO had it in spades!!! They made Pretty, Heavy Rockin Ballads. The songs you could write home to momma about. No X-rated innuendos.
Gary Richrath was an absolute guitar monster. That guy was crazy talented and skilled. R.I.P. 🌹
This song is actually uplifting…the dude found out his girl is a cheating skunk, and while weak men would moan and cry about how miserable their life is, this song is about a dude who says to the cheater: “GTF outta here!”
The guitarist Gary Richrath RIP was a bad bad man ! One of the great bands of my youth thanks fellas ✌️
Very underrated band
Gary Richrath, one of the baddest mofos to ever wail on a guitar.
Criminally underrated and those harmonies!
Greatest opening lines of any song ever.

Yes, have seen them several times and they are a great live band!
Great reaction! This one takes me back. You could do a year's worth of reactions from 1981 - what a great year for music.
This song and several others from this album were part of the soundtrack to my adolescent life. I LOVE this song. Thanks for the memories, you guys. I can't get enough of your channel. :)

REO Golden country you will like it
I saw REO play in concert in Louisville back in the 1980's and then in 2008 in Elizabethtown, KY and both times they were amazing and rocked out.
@Devil doc A very long time ago, my girlfriend in high school went to West Hardin.
@Devil doc I graduated from North, I remember when it was Hardin Central though.
@Devil doc No argument there.
Brings those party memories back. Still rocks my face off.
Great reactions guys, have a go with "roll with the changes", it will blow your minds. Cheers from Greece.
love the bass in this song!!!
The guitar solo is almost like a dual solo because the base is so prominent in addition to the lead guitar.
@@whalers59 that's right, so good

Best High School rock album of all time
I love so much this song from reo❤😅
Love the t-shirts guys…bbn! I’ve loved REO Speedwagon from the beginning and saw them in concert back in the early eighties. Thanks for the review!
The album title is a play on the term "hi fidelity" (or HiFi) as stereo systems used to be described when they became popular. It's also what we modeled the term "WiFi" from.
I was a sophomore in high school when this album came out and it takes me right back every time I hear it. Great reaction guys ❤❤❤❤❤
Their drummer Brian Hit went to school with me in Joaquin Tx..he is awesome!!

This song never gets old
Keep On Loving You, In Your Letter, and Don't Let Him Go are a few other great ones to check out!
Neal shines in In Your Letter.

Had to sub because of your UK shirt. That and I liked your reaction.
Listen to "157 Riverside Avenue" on their "Live - You Get What You Play For" album. The guitar solo is epic. The entire song is fire.
They way Gary held and played his guitar was mesmerizing for some reason, the sounds he made 🤟
I still have my album High Infidelity. These songs were very popular when I was in junior high from 1980-82. Great music.

Riding the storm out....their best song.
Was waiting for the reaction at the end when he went up an octave. Wasn't disappointed
Richrath's best work IMO. just a brilliant melodic soloist and riff maker. just so tasty.
Nick you respond to guitar riffs like me, like it touches my soul. Plus the album title is a play on words. Back in the 60's the stereos were called HiFidelity or HiFI's and they just added "in" to it.
Great song. Good song choice.

Kevin Cronin looking so fit at his age ....69...I can only hope that I look that great!!! Dude had THE hair in TIME for me to fly....

Would love to see you all react to Keep on Loving You or Can't Fight this Feeling by Reo Speedwagon :)
I've always been confused by this song. The music sounds like an anthem for "you and me against the world" but the lyrics say "go for a walk girl."
Reo speedwagon has harder deep cuts that they aren't known for, but should be. Try Golden Country.
The studio version.
From the REO T.W.O album.
Hi guy's check out some earth wind & fire

Try their live version of the song
"Golden Country" the guitar work is phenomenal.

Check out Any Kind Of Love and Keep Pushin'. Both are great tracks by REO. Studio versions or the live versions off of You Get What You Play For.
It’s a modern day folk song.
I guess REO used to be a big big deal. Out of the first 200 videos played n MTV, like 16 or 17 were by REO.
