Being a musician, songwriter and vocalist myself, I used to play in 80's and 90's rock and heavy metal bands. I even got to meet and play with a few of the famous 80's bands before they were signed. I miss this. Even though this is late 70's here, it still rolled into the 80's and 90's. Another thing is all the great backing vocals were done by the band. Not studio singers. I had the good fortune of being in two bands where we were all lead vocalists, so we could do backing vocals like this. And there were so many bands who had great backing vocalis like Reo Speedwagon. A few others were Chicago, Styx, Foreigner, Journey, Yes, Kansas, just to name a few. Great times. I've watched a few of your videos. You both always have great reactions to songs.

Thankful I got to live through the 60' and on. I never thought I'd see the day when the quality in music was no longer sought-after. Fine talented musicians and vocalists striving to make something great to call there own. Now all that's left of my era is a few remaining remnants and the proof of the music's excellence contained on video. I am greatful for that.

The 70s was a happy decade for us young people and so much rock - and even the disco - was happy. Made you feel great! Yep, your gandparents (i was a teen then and 63 now with 7 grandkids) we were cool and had incredible music on a daily basis. Id go back there in a heartbeat. It was THAT good! Great reaction and very happy a younger man "gets" what makes this great music! My granddaughters and grandson like it too! 😀

This was one of my favorite songs for a minute. I love the change over from Neil on the piano/keyboard to Gary (RIP) guitar.
Too bad the "changes" they were talking about was their change in their overall product with "Hi Infidelity" It got them their
well-deserved millions but was a drastic change to the dark side of HI. I bought the album the day it was released. Listened
to it twice and sent it to my 12 year old sister and said you're gonna love this. She didn't. She couldn't even believe it was REO.
THIS was the good stuff. It's a crime they're not in the R&R HOF
NOTE: They're currently touring with STYX and Loverboy🎸🎸🎸

I was born at the right time I guess because 1970's was my childhood and 1980's was junior high, high school and young adulthood so both had a powerful impact on me, and I was a bit precocious so I was very attentive to my environment and would even record every hit off the radio. Every song you cover and enjoy has a double significance for me as it evokes specific memories of the era and people I knew and places I lived, so it's personal when I listen to reactions. I wish your generation could go back in time just to observe because the world was so different. Although each decade of the 20th Century was unique in styles, fashion, music and trends, they were all so socially connected and there was this blissful innocence of just indulging yourself in all life has to offer in a carefree sense. But in the 21st Century the change was so drastic that it feels like a switch was flipped (and the events of 9/11 played a part as well). Not just the amazing music with heart that is often lacking today but in social isolation, violence, loss of innocence, lack of connection, extreme political correctness as to what you can say or do, etc.
It's as if the previous century was a dream and then suddenly someone abruptly woke us up and said "okay, that's enough of that fantasy and carefree indulgence, time to snap out of it and face cold reality." At first I thought it was just me or because I'm older but I've seen so many others express a similar sentiment, not just my those my age but even Gen Z when they observe music, movies and videos from our days. It's not fair because today's generation has the same social desires and wanderlust but it's just a different way of life now for all of us -- and it only seems to be moving more and more that direction. Archival footage, recordings is how we temporarily revisit (and today's generations experience) that different time and and computer technology is how we remotely communicate now. I figured those who only know life today won't know what they're missing and what you don't know can't hurt you, but then I see a lot of young people just have that same feeling, like something is missing. And when they observe or listen to our times they seem to connect to it and see what that is.

They just nailed it with this song when it came to that intensity, its just a pleasantly “busy” song, like picture a car full of teenagers flying down a highway out in the middle of the desert and everyone in the car is busy doing something anything a couple in the back making out bumping the guy thats tryin to roll a joint without spilling it everywhere, driver playing drums on the steering wheel, front passenger air guitar while his girlfriend sitting on the middle Console just lost her sunglasses out of the sunroof while collecting beer money from the back while someones little brother is kicking trying to be let out of the trunk, you kno,.. that song hahah
