A minor correction that didn't affect the game; when Obi Wan was defending from Asajj's lightsaber attack, you wouldn't have been able to reroll his defence dice with Soresu Mastery anyway - it now only works against ranged attacks.
This was a very helpful video, I'm playing my first game with the new rules this evening, and I was having difficulty visualising the new deployment system, so thanks!

I am pretty sure at least half your unit has to be range 1/2 of the terrain to get cover. If just your unit leader is at range 1/2 and the others are not, no cover

The new rules allow for tactical to trigger off of scout. Scout is now a free move action and tactical/agil Trigger off of move actions.

Great to see the bigger armies in this new legion game. Obi and Ani vs Dooku and Ventress, and the rest of the forces actually look like armies. Now we only need Jar-Jar, I mean Ahsoka :o)

I was initially scared of the new rules as a clones player and a big lover of clone balls. But the new play style of them seems real cool.

New legion rules for scout on the arcs and scouting party on Rex makes the clones super aggressive on turn 1 and the new ai rules makes both armies feel great can’t wait to see a 501st game with Rex at the helm with his new command card its super fun!

When fives charged it could have been enough to the back guy. You no longer have to place the base at the end of the move tool into the bowl thingy. You are allowed to just touch the tool. This gives you about 3mm per Move extra. This also means that range 2 is in Charge range with a double move

I am personally really excited for the new legion rules. I’ve played once and really liked it. Seeing this game showed me a lot more that didn’t come up in my game. Thanks.

Yeah me too. I like the new deployment, mission scenarios and cover rules. Some of the original map layouts where you play from the short sides were just horrible. Lack of proper mission expansions since the game launch didnt help. Hope AMG releases more and more missions.
Same. I'm not happy with how cover feels. But I like the dynamic deployment and the more aggressive playstyle that the new rules encourage.
@@JKSSubstandard At least units dont get cover any more if the LoS line runs through a terrain. You have to be near that terrain now.
it just sucks for someone who just got into legion and now it’s like we have to buy everything all over again considering not playi no anymore

Worth noting, scout is a move action now so it does in fact proc tactical again. Also, for movement for small bases just need to end touching the movement tool, no longer needs to be in the little nook.

I like the 1000 point games I always thought the game needed to be bigger but wow some of the rule changes seem super difficult and unnecessary, but we'll see in time
They really are easy and make sense once you play with them. Like the cover mechanic scales very nicely with the dice pools and helps smaller dice pools provide more impact to the battle and larger dice pools have a chance to have more hits canceled in cover. Thanks!

I think B2 dont need the HA anymore as much as they used to. The built in wrist rockets are so nice!
Blast can still be very good, cover is just a bit harder to maintain now

I've played two games with the New Legion rules so far, and I agree with Don. I have liked everything so far! I wish for personal reasons ARCs had kept range 3, but it is great either way. Gray Squad best squad!

Great new Legion Battle report. I’ve only had one game so far, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Round 1 deployment has a huge effect on how the game plays out.
I’ve also seen some people using spare 50mm mcp bases and decorating them as terrain pieces to use for the POI tokens, I wonder if that’s worth doing

Cool. A tactic to use here is to just concentrate on 3 objectives, stay back with your marked targets, and then focus on holding those 3 and then maybe kill some of the opponents marked...??
The shifting nature will cause the three your holding to move each round making both armies get closer if you will. Thanks!

Lethal takes place during modify attack dice step which is after apply cover and dodge step. so you will know if you should spend the aim. New legion rules do look fun

Also, and i may have missed it, but i didn't see any rule saying POI are impassible. I did see they are considered area terrain that provide heavy cover and you can move through them.
@zasur323 correct you can move over them and such. Just can’t land on them.
