3 months in my microloc journey.
I just two strand twisted my ends over the weekend to prevent slippage. Overall I'm loving this journey. Best choice I have ever made for my hair.

I’m 3 weeks into microlocs. I’m loving every second. I’ve had larger locs twice before and I am loving everything this time. I have fine, low density hair and I’m loving the volume. I’m enjoying watching your journey.

I had two-strand twist locs for a year and a half and took them out last week so that I can get sisterlocs (finally have the time, money, and education for installment and maintenance). Your videos give me so much life!!! Your hair is beautiful and I appreciate the openness ❤️❤️

Looks BEAUTIFUL! The build up in your hair could be attributed to a little shampoo that gets left behind. Look into doing an apple cider vinegar rinse to release that and then after shampoo, let the water concentrate on those areas longer. Just so gorgeous and full!

I braided and banded for 13 months. I just made 19 months and I still do it from time to time. Maybe once a month.
Out of habit or because you still have to do it?
I'm 5 months in and the frustration of reestablishing that back row and my front edges 😒 and I become a fuzz ball too after wash day. 🤦🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️ and I band and braid even though I don't like too 🤭

Just viewing Sisterlocks, and trying to decide if I want to get them installed. Your locks are so beautiful. Where did you get yours installed?
At Vanity Hair Studio when they had a shop in Brooklyn. It’s closed since. But they opened a new one in Bohemia, Long Island.
Your locs are very nice, I think your hair density makes for some very nice locs - they look full but not overwhelmingly so.
And it’s great that you can get away with only using water and shampoo and it still looks so healthy and well moisturised.

I’m in the research mode. Getting next month. A little nerve because I’m getting them in my 50s and have black dye to cover grey and once I get the locs, the grey will really come in. Any advice?

I hit one week of being (sister) loc’d tomorrow.
I'll be 1 month on the 4th and 5th of June. It took 2 days.
Your hair is gorgeous! When you say lost hair..do you When it fell out from the edges?
I haven’t had any issues with my edges. I lost a loc that was installed over an old bald spot that had been struggling to grow hair for a few years. That’s it.

I don't. I treat them the same way I treat the rest of may hair. As long as I continue to leave them alone, they'll lock. I just haven't decided if I'm going to keep leaving them alone or not. lol.
Can you wash the lint out? Or is it like gonna stay. Getting my sisterlocks tomorrow and that’s my main concern.
When it comes to lint, prevention is key.
Some of it will stay. Some of it will come out with a good wash. Some may need a deeper clean.
Hello, I'm three months in on my sista loc journey. I have had a lot of slippage, My stylist recommended ocean water. Have you had this problem and if so, what did you do?
I only had it in the back row for about 4 months. I didn’t do anything g special though. The locs held on after a few reties. The density was low and the hair is straighter back there for me. The hair just needed to grow some before it held on

No. I don’t struggle with dandruff.

Hey I would love to lock my hair. But just don't have the right person to lock it
have you tried a google searching, instagram, tik Tok, or even referrals?
As you I am enjoying every stage of my locs 2 months in. But my edges are a mess. Meaning I have a lot of loose hair. Which makes me want to use edge control. I am not sure if it's my loctician not tighten them right, enough or it can not be tighten. What do you suggest I do? My edges never look as clean as yours and others I've seen.
are they little pieces of hair? too short to reach the loc closest to them? are there enough strands to make a loc?
What did your consultant say when you asked them about it?
@@TheRealKylaB Yep. Little pieces and mostly grey hairs 😑. I think you maybe right they are "too small to add to loc". I didn't ask her but will be asking on my next retightening. Thanks for responding!
Where did you get your install?
I got my hair installed at Vanity Hair Studio in Brooklyn. They are not offering new establishments anymore though.

Not sure what you mean by fuzzies. But locs are definitely a frizzy fuzzy type of hairstyle. So there will always be a level of that. There is a thing as too much frizz , but you’re only 2 weeks in. So just see how it goes and be sure to ask the person who maintains your hair of the frizz is a normal amount or an excessive one.

I don't use any products.
