I almost died of laughter when “My cabbages!” happened! It’s my favorite running gag in the original show and even though I knew it would appear in this adaptation, I had no idea they would be so committed in bringing back the original voice actor to play him live action! Talk about serious dedication!

I agree the action was good but the writting could be way better considering they have a wonderful cartoon plot can take from. Episode 4 was horrible for me.

Jet and katara didn't hit to say they liked each other deeply it wasn't that convincing it seems as if they were expecting us to know the characters based on our experience from the cartoon which that shouldn't fully be the case.
@@torrique876the writing was actually okay for me. Kinda good sometimes but horrible in certain parts. Good in a way that they actually changed zuko’s crew backstory, also the adjustments they had in making it more mature like the airbender genocide. Bad in a way because they made one of my favorite characters weak. Azula in the live action looked like she’s about to cry every time her face was on screen. She’s not the Azula who’s INCREDIBLY intimidating, powerful and evil. On the cartoon show, she was on par with firelord ozai with intimidation and evilness. I honestly don’t know what they’ve done to her.

Leaves from the vine is a beautiful gut punch. It auto played on my playlist last year whilst cleaning the house. I just lost my nan that week and was desperately trying to stay busy. Even as a gown man, I crumbled like a stack of cards. I must have cried for 20 minutes on the kitchen floor.

"There are so many epic sequences in the original series that I wish we could have done, but it would have just broken the bank many times over. The Northern Air Temple episode of the first season is a finale in itself, and if we had tried to do that we would be blowing all the resources right there. So, we had to pick and the toughest part of this process was deciding what to leave behind - and I’m sure there will be fans who are not happy that they didn’t get their favorite episodes and their favorite characters, and all I can say is it pains me too." He added, "I wish we could have done all of them, but there’s the reality of creating eight-hour-long episodes for a serialized drama and also expanding the world in places and telling new parts of the story that hadn’t been told before. That takes up time. I think people think it’s as easy as saying, 'Well there are 20 half-hour episodes of the original. That’s 10 hours. And there are eight one-hour episodes of the new show, so they only needed to make two more episodes.' But it’s not exactly one-to-one there, so that was the process we went through."
At the beginning of Episode 3 Omashu, after the explosion after the first encounter with Teo, the team is at the mechanic. I hoped Azula gets her redemption arc in this love action adaptation. She is much of a victim as her brother Zuzu since their father sees them as nothing but tools of war or prodigies. Everything they have done is to win their father’s love and approval, not just for the Fire Nation. But Firelord Ozai is not the fatherly kind of person as Uncle Iroh.
