      Hi, can I do a simple podcast using bandlab?
      Also, do you think it is possible for a person to learn how to play piano / keyboard (who has never played piano / keyboard before) by using bandlab keyboard provided like shown on the video?

    I'm not usually into tutorials because they go too fast or don't really explain in detail some functions, but when I tell you that this tutorial has really REALLY blown me away, I mean it. Not only did you make a song of my fave genre, you also taught essentials in such a great way! I was lost tapping random loops and putting together choppy melodies but this...THIS. This is totally gonna make me grow tons.
    Thank you so much for this. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

    Hey Dean, this is cool. I have a lot of people asking whether they should sell their Windows laptop and buy a Mac or not, just because of Garageband. This can be a good alternative. Zero cost.
    Also, it would be nice if you can do a video of your favourite paid plugins for the more advance Garageband users to upgrade.

    • @thesongwritingstudio5783
      @thesongwritingstudio5783  3 года назад +2

      Love that Leif, so glad it was helpful! As for plugins, I don't know that I'll do a video on that anytime soon but my 1st suggestion would be to learn to use the stock plugins well as they are really powerful and what I use to do the majority of my mixes! Beyond that, I do have a video on using Melodyne (pitch correction software) in GarageBand and in seasons past I have used Slate Digitals plugins (a monthly subscription) as they have some very nice compressors in particular. Hope that helps! -Dean

    Best instructional video I found on You Tube! I know nothing about daw recording and you went slow and methodically through it. Excellent teacher! Two questions I can't find. How do you save an original file without destroying or altering it after making a new one in bandlab? I have an older keyboard with a unique sound preset. If I create a midi file can I import it and use it instead of a virtual instrument and will it create audio when played back in bandlab?

      Hey joewger! You can hit save in the top right of the screen (I show it at minute 22:55 in this video if you want a visual) and then it saves the project file so that you can exit the project but jump back into it anytime. Hope that helps! -Dean

    Found this after I was frustrated with Garage Band’s imported mp3 audio not playing. It’s a great app and I have to learn more about it. Thanks for the tutorial brother 🙏

      Just make whatever you can, and experiment with the program until you think it sounds interesting then keep working on it slowly until you figure it out 🫶🏼 you got this

    Thank you so much.... I wanted to learn to use bandlab to make music for my debut song.... I am doing it all alone....
    BTW, I wanted to know if there is an autotune source in it...

      That's awesome Fhrea! And no, there is currently not an autotune feature (to my knowledge)

      There’s no auto tune preset but there are other vocal effects that can be used to create a similar sound to auto tune ❤️

    Thank you so much for making this tutorial! I love BandLab and use it with my elementary school students, and this will be a great resource I can send them back to for reference (or, for students who graduated before we started getting into this, it will be a great introduction). Here's a sample of an arrangement I did of "Hot Cross Buns," to illustrate how, no matter how simple the melody, you can always have some fun with it: ruclips.net/video/tyzjx-85xjQ/видео.html

    Thank you so much. I cannot explain my grace toward you. In my country there are no available and detailed tutorials such as yours, therefore I had to search on RUclips to find a foreign one, and there you are.
