    I laughed at the under seat storage. "Oh you can put an umbrella in here". It looks more like it's designed for a shotgun or rifle.

    I sell accessories at a Chevrolet dealer in NC and think a showcase truck or two would be a good idea. People's reactions to prices can sometimes be an...experience but nowhere else are you going to get the best quality products backed by the GM warranty. Regarding the tonneau cover, I gotta say a Retrax cover is better in every way. Floor liners and underseat storage are accessories I recommend to all of my customers because they're really the best way to protect your interior and the underseat storage is basically an interior trunk. I expect the Trail Boss lift to be popular as it's a great value and really upgrades the look of the truck, especially examples with off road tires.

    Absolutely they should all have the 2 inch and the all weather mats. As crazy expensive as these trucks are , this stuff should be standard. You guys should put some Nitto Ridge Grapplers on the lifted trucks, as that will make them look even better.

    I have 5 trucks from 195 to 2019. It amazes me how much 4wheel drive trucks have changed!
    1. It used to be a much more expensive option.
    2. They used to ride a lot worse than 2wheel drive.
    3. They used to burn a lot more gas than the 2 wheel drive.
    4. They used to need repairs more often than the new 4wheel drives.
    I know people tend to think older was always better but these new 4 wheel drive systems with crawl control and terrain select are amazing along with how tires have changed. I put a nice set of winter tires on my 4runner that are rated for ice and they have been AMAZING! It amazes me the way these tires grip the ice. I could have driven without the 4wheel drive ever being turned on. I do have an 1985 model truck and I love playing in it as well. Trucks have just changed so much it's amazing.

    Just picked up my 2019 Silverado RST. I disagree, all trucks do not need the 2" lift. I like mine the way it sits. Easier for my wife and daughter to get into. If I wanted the lift I would have gotten the trail boss. The only add on items I got were the window vent guards, the 6"running boards, tri-fold tonneau cover, and the mud flaps. It already came with the factory 20 inch wheels and they look great. Got to say, I wasn't originally crazy over the new body style. But this truck handles very well. The 5.3 8-speed combo works great. It's comfortable and quiet. And fuel efficiency is amazing for a V-8 pickup. The style is growing on me.

    I'm a Ford guy, but think Chevy make really great trucks, and I do like your channel....So i'm going to give you some free advice...Don't advertise Rancho shocks as an upgrade...they are junk and there isn't a single off road guy who knows anything about suspension who thinks otherwise...it's a shame Chevy dropped the Bilsteins that used to come on the ZR truck packages...I know it sounds like I'm pulling your leg, but it's true...
    Thanks for the video!

      You are right, I had rancho's on my '16 Z71, and took them off in favor of Bilstein 5100's. Night and day difference. Plus the ranchos looked like shit after only 2 years. They had rusted out white paint and the red plastic boots faded to light pink.

      Titantramp4u I’m having a Trail Boss built and I’m also disappointed with GMs use of Rancho shocks on these trucks. They’ll feel okay-ish for a while but as soon as warranty is up, I’ll be upgrading to Fox. They got it right on the Colorado ZR2 suspension though! ...just too small a truck for me.

    On the 2 inch lifts on a Ford you just replace the front struts and put spacers on the back springs. I installed a set of rancho struts on my neighbors new F-150. On the Ford you just raise the front so it is the same height as the back. It gives you more tire clearance. Have a great week brother!

    Yes, a 2” lift done right can make any truck look better. But for the love of gawd, PLEASE stop putting 22” rims and low profile tires on a lifted truck with off-road components/suspension. At that point, you’re just throwing stuff on it because you can... but that doesn’t mean you should. SMH

      I went with these wheels on my truck but I didn't take the tires. I put some 34" Nitto tires on there to fill up those wheel wells with the lift.

    • @wiley5oh51
      @wiley5oh51 4 года назад +1

      Jacob Cloud my personal opinion is that 18 inch rims should be the biggest you go. I’m running 18’s with 295/70r18’s and I love the look and it’s great for offroad

    • @BigTyronie
      @BigTyronie 4 года назад +7

      Some trucks you have to use larger wheels because the brakes are too large and require 20" and up. Also, wheel size is something you can ignore if you dont like someones personal preference. Its kinda petty to criticize someone for wanting 22 or 24" wheels on THEIR truck. Not everyone buys a truck to beat the shit out of it offroad. I had 22s and 35s on my super duty and i didnt use it any differently offroad when i needed to be offroad. Zero issues.

    I would love to see the Trail Boss suspension kit get installed. PS - The Rancho twin-tube shocks are the cheaper shocks that GM and Ford have used on Z71's and FX4's for years. The Trail Boss trucks are using the newer, less commonly known Rancho monotube shocks which improve performance.

    • @farva75089
      @farva75089 3 года назад

      The 2 inch lift that is mentioned in this video actually upgrades you to the better performing mono tube shocks from rancho! Yes the factory black shocks on some and the factory z71/x31 rancho shocks are a twin tube design which does give a more car like ride but isn’t as good as a quality mono tube offroad! I can verify this as I am the assistant parts manager for Heritage Buick GMC in Rockwall , Texas!

    • @JoseGuerrero-uh1zm
      @JoseGuerrero-uh1zm 2 года назад

      So the ride stays the same

  • @robertmoulton2656
    @robertmoulton2656 5 лет назад

    The 22 do look nice . I found out the hard way why 16&17 inch rims are more practical. Not just the money. It's grit and gravel snow and ice . These will cause significant wheel imbalance (due to build up on the inside of the rim). Also low profile tires look cool but increase dramatically the harshness of the ride . So if you live in rural America or Canada or anywhere where the roads are rough and your truck might get muddy stay away from big inch rims and low profile tires .
    Enjoy your videos Mr. Chevy Dude

    I have had one of those roll up covers on my truck for 5 years now (though its a Bak Roll-X, same exact design), while overall its nice it does have a couple flaws.
    1. I have to re-glue the fabric on the bottom side every 2-3 years.
    2. You know where the last 2-3 slats fold at the back of the cover? That started to crack after 4 years, even with regular treatment to protect the material. Too much repetitive stress i guess.
    3. If you don't have a garage or get rain shortly before freezing weather. Don't expect to open the cover, all it takes is a little water in locking rails and it will permanently lock the cover down till the ice melts...
    p.s. Was that Silverado between the two black ones Northsky Blue Metallic? or a different color? It looks so much darker in the video then any pictures on the website.

    Lift kits hurt handling due to raising the center of gravity and they hurt MPG by creating more drag under the truck. So while they are cool they aren't very practical for majority of buyers, myself included. I am a huge supporter of options though and you guys selling the lift kit with a warranty for all trims is great. Now only if GM would offer the 6.2 in an RST, LT or LT Trail Boss

    It would be nice to see a 4x4 Rst with a 2” lift, tires that come on the trail boss, and maybe keep the stock wheels if possible? Could benefit customers, sales representatives, and dealers with regard to keeping techs busy installing parts and selling parts. Obviously this will leave you with what is essentially a trail boss but if the numbers are right, it could come in cheaper for the customer.

    3:32 look at that glare on the RST’s headlight, that actually doesn’t look half bad. It actually looks better if they added that type of headlight.

    Thanks Mike!

      The rear you just need a block thats 2" taler than your oem one. Id have one made so it can be fabbed with a degree or degree and a half of pitch to correct pinion angle. The front id have to look. If the front uses control arms and coils you need a longer coil or a space. The rear, please do not stack blocks

    You mean you don't have the $ 6,00.00 mud flaps and the $ 1,500.00 paint wax???? Oh don't forget the $ 500.00 door edge guards!!!! LOL!!! Most of the rip off dealers around here have them. And what really pisses me off is the $ 40,000.00 dealer mark up on the sticker for specialty models!!! Like on the Shelby GT 350 R. and the Doge Challenger Demon. One question, can I buy a ZR-1 from you for sticker? Several of the rip off dealers around here are charging over sticker on them. Great video Mike!

      I have to say I really don't get what they are thinking at GM. They have the history and experience as well as all the workers and tools to make as great a truck or better truck than anybody out there! Yet they just keep blowing it time and time again! STOP constantly throwing out new motors! Pick your motors and STAY with them! Make improvements to your motor each year. Look for ways to make it more powerful and fuel efficient without going to an all new motor. Get RID of the stop start system! Get RID of the goofy cylinder shut down system! Bring back the Chevy 350 and the 305! I have looked at the Trail Boss and if they would get their shit together that could be a great truck! Stop this competition with who can make the longest, widest, tallest truck in America!! Bring the size down some to a reasonable full size truck. If they got their shit together I would probably own a Trail Boss or some Silverado other than the 55 I have now.

      @@tomthorn2887 First off, motors use electricity, engines run off of combustion. The 5.3l has been based on the same 5.3l Vortec pushrod engine from the 90's which they've been IMPROVING on since. The SAME theoretical pushrod design as your beloved 350 and 305. To keep the EPA from shutting out the OHV engine and to get the efficiency it requires to remain relevant, AFM was introduced. Something you should be embracing, not shunning. I'm betting you haven't compared engine specs between your 305 and 350 to the new 5.3l Ecotec3.

      tom thorn stop living in the 90’s. The old 350 is a gas guzzling boat anchor turd. I grew up modding them. Built a couple n/a 550+HP daily drivers. So I’m quite versed in them. The ls motors are leaps and bounds better. As time goes on, technology gets better, things improve. You may not like it, but it is what it is. I find it comical that you proclaim to be knowledgeable but yet you request the old 350 be made again. It’s time to get with the times.

    Beautiful trucks, wish they'd quit closing US plants and build these trucks in the USA. Looked at a blacked out 6.2 with leather and the works, asked the salesman where it was built and he started dancing around the question. No brand is perfect but I did end up buying a Wrangler JL.

    Interior is nice love heated cooled seats heated steering wheel Apple car play big plus tons of USB and charging options WiFi is good when it works
    Cons the truck feels heavy and sluggish also leaks water on both sides of visors and also under steering wheel
    My leases is coming up and I really disappointed thT Chevy didn’t do any major interior upgrades like bigger screen moon roof ect
    I do like the GMC At4 and but the interior is blah
