It’s been 4 years. Custom isn’t 45k anymore. It’s 56k so in 5 more years the custom should be roughly 66k. Hope you can get it unless everything goes electric

Almost seems like the custom is an upgraded work truck with a little more bells and whistles without stepping up to the LT

The custom is the same as the 1500 custom version with the trail boss features and the LT is self explanatory with the trail boss features... You can get the standard 1500 custom and 1500 LT all star as well... Both have more features than the work truck
except its not available in standard cab like the work truck. st cab lovers get shit for trim packages

Just bought a custom this week and in comparison to the LT I'm happy, any other additional features I can do myself ie fog, steering audio, change out bucket for console etc. All you need is ebay and a wrench or 2

how about parking assist, lane changing assist, rear seat secret storage compartments, leather wrapped steering wheel, heated seats, usb chargers, 8 inch radio, led tail lights and headlights, push to start, keyless entry and so much more. How you gonna add all those features with a wrench or 2 and ebay?? 😂 good luck buddy have fun with that

@@ColdSprite most people live in areas where it gets really cold in the winter and heated seats is a must. Maybe you just could never afford them or just too cheap. I’m just saying you won’t be able to add or “build your own” after you buy it lol maybe you can put a lift on it and tires and some floor mats or some shit but there ain’t no adding heated seats or anything of the things i mentioned above. @@scroperman4612 okay BUD, maybe there’s something called the internet and you can find a place that installs heated seats because that is doable. I make quadruple the amount you make. If you think that’s all a person can do you’re not even a man who likes to get down and dirty with their vehicle. I literally did everything you listed to my truck minus heated seats cause I don’t live in the cold. Plus aftermarket stuff that you can’t afford.
So I leased a new Ford Ranger yesterday and I have some observations. The entire process of buying a vehicle really sucks. Its honestly an experience like no other in your life. I mean this NO disrespect to you, its just the business it is and always has been. The salesman is the best part of the buying process. They have always been helpful and actually work hard to get the vehicle you want. They will walk miles with you on the lot, take you for a test drive. They honestly are the most enjoyable part.
Now here we go! What freaking astounds me, I mean astounds me is two things. The sales guy takes the numbers, all the numbers, trade in, down payment, and vehicle numbers to some other dude. Those guys could be in that room talking for 15-20 minutes. Come on, what kinda BS is going between them? Whoever that guy is, the guy that comes up with the "monthly payment" is super slick. Usually the customer just talks to them in passing but they are super slick. The next thing that just blows my mind, I mean BLOWS my mind is the super, duper slick, fast talking finance guy. My hatred of this part of the process could not be described in words. They go through 500 products you DO NOT need, trying pump up your monthly payment 30-50 bucks a month. I say no to everything and I get a look like you are an A-hole. I can tell the finance guy is pissed at that point.
In my humble opinion the dealership could cut serious costs by getting rid of the clown that comes up with the "monthly payment" and the useless finance manager. They could have the sales guy do the entire thing and save two big salaries. Have some administrative assistant print out all the papers, sign those papers with the salesperson you are comfortable with and call it a day.
I apologize if I offended you Chevy Dude, its just my observations of my experiences of buying many, many vehicles, every 3 years I go through this process and it astounds me more every time. I know you are a good and honest salesperson so I hope I did not offend you.

@@RiffMusic1970 Man the finance guy part PISSES me off. Every time I think of that part I get mad all over again. I absolutely detest that part of the process. Its a completely useless position. I almost want to start my own You Tube channel explaining all the things I HATE about buying a new vehicle at a dealership.
I have positive feelings about the dealership I leased the truck from except for that mother F-ing finance guy part. The thing with the sales manager coming up with a dumb number is on the dealership. Its a complete waste of money but if the dealership wants to waste that money God bless them. The finance guy part needs to go. Useless expensive position, completely USELESS.

I go on Kelly Blue Book so I know exactly what I’ll be paying. If they’re not close to my number, I walk out.
I have always got a preapproved loan and walked into the dealership with a check in my pocket. I tell them what I'm willing to pay. They either agree or I leave. I tell them that if I leave I will not be back. I've bought a dozen cars/trucks this way and always got a decent deal.

I wish the cylinder deactivation had a on off switch.
If you get the custom you can a company called range technologies has a device plugs into the obd2 port and it cancels out the AFM system as i said though only on the customs get a LT with the 5.3 DFM and that plug and play device will not work!
@@AlexBacon1000 due to the chip shortage the 2021 and 2022 will not have DFM. Big plus!

As much as they are now, I just get more happy ever since I paid my '11 LT off. I'll love that 5.3 til the day it dies. Never a lick of trouble and always answers the call when I got to run across a field for a brush fire, or haul rock or dirt.

I can't believe there's no center console or storage on the custom, I know it's cheap, but not THAT cheap.

Turd Ferguson no center console storage is the only reason I didn’t buy the custom I loved the truck but I couldn’t get the idea of no center storage out of my head
I purchased the Custom, awesome truck, I’m sure the performance is almost identical but I am sort of regretting not having all these simply accessories. Still can’t believe you can’t even change the radio station or turn up/down volume from the steering wheel.

I hate the way manufacturers shut you out of optioning lower models how you want them.
If you don’t want all the gadgets of the LT, but would like the upgraded consoles and/or stereo, or power seats, wtf does Chevy care? I know it’s all about the Benjamins... but so is up-optioning a Custom.
Back in the day, you could buy whatever option you wanted a la carte. Now, you have to buy a bunch of other crap you don’t want or need, just to get the few things you actually desire. Ridiculous.
No wonder the aftermarket industry is so lucrative.
EDIT: If you’re a tall guy, you do NOT want that base seat. You will trade that truck in on a Chiropractor after a long cross-country drive.
I told my local Chevy guy I wanted a 4x4 standard cab, long bed V8. He told me to buy a Ram or Ford. That is exactly what I will do. Not everyone wants a 4 door truck and Chevy is pissing on their own feet by not offering one.

Looks like gas mileage isn't getting better with all the new technology added to the sticker price.
It makes more HP without decreasing MPG. I think that’s an improvement.

Minh Tran agreed. Dealer told me that I will not get more than 18 mpg on mine (Trailboss Custom). I went in knowing it was a truck that was going to get truck mileage. I was able to get 22 mpg while driving around Colorado. I live in North Texas and I get 14 combined.

LUCKY13 ! Yes. I am ok with combined mileage. I live less than 2 miles from where I work so weekly gas is negligible.

Daddy Dog that’s what I thought at first but now that I’ve been driving mine for 6 months. I feel like I’m missing those extra INTERIOR features since I came from an LT version truck (2014) I still love my custom though. Btw I know this video was months ago but the price blows my mind, I’m pretty sure they have change by now? I paid 32k for my custom Silverado.
Ilya Kovalchuk I paid 32k for the truck itself after all the extra bs from dealer & government it was 36k total (CUSTOM SILVERADO) Personally depending on the price difference between each other I’d go for LT for extra features inside that come in handy, specially if you have a family. If the price difference it’s more than 5k go for custom. PD I heard Ram has better prices 😏
What I don't understand is why Chevy stopped making the single cab. Correct me if I'm Wrong but I believe the only single cab is a 1/2ton wt. And the 2500hd only comes in a crew cab now.

@@danten.6928 I like the single cab as well. Ford has single cabs all the way up to the 550 in 2 trim levels with opt powerstroke. Chevy really limited their market on pickups.
if you want a nice standard cab you have to go with Ford or Ram. Chevy thinks nice standard cabs are obsolete, even though they make and sell a Std Cab Trail Boss for the Saudi's

Love the trucks, but a monthly payment would be almost as much as my house payment lol. Between Silverados costing an arm and a leg and the Blazer being fwd, I'm just gonna drive my '07 Rado until it turns to dust.

This is the first review I've seen that compares the Custom Trail Boss to the LT Trail Boss. Great video.
The push start ignition can be easily stolen over a turn key ignition with an immobilizer. All you need is a key fob amplifier from eBay.

Remote Keyless entry is listed under standard features on the window sticker of the custom. Only remote start is added with the optional package.

Just had the worst experience ever at 2 Chevy dealers here. One told me go ahead and surrender your truck (lemon law). They have my truck. Did that and now all of a sudden they don’t have my truck. Other dealer sales person lies, and gets upset when you call him out. He started arguing with me yesterday when I called him out.

I bought a 2019 custom at roughly $42k and 2 weeks later they dropped the price on the 2019 LT to $44k. I called the dealer and they wouldn’t do a single thing for me. I’m still pissed about it
I bought a GMC Sierra AT4 dealer had it on sale for 41k with my GM supplier I got it down for 39k.

I'm a Chevy guy but they need to figure out the fuel rating vs the other brands. Still in the teen with mpgs. My 08 sierra 5.3 gets that so much improvement is needed to keep up.
The trail boss / AT4 are rated differently (lift & tires) but also these are bigger in general with more power so yeah. My 07 & 2010 was sht on gas ,my 04 & 19 got the best overall.
They could make the 6.2L V8 get 40mpg but then there would be no kickback from OPEC lol

Those fuel economy numbers are horrendous for both of those trucks. Regardless of the dynamic fuel management.
FYI, cruise control is on both the LT and Custom model steering wheels 😗. Furthermore, the touch screen head unit isn’t just a “radio” as it was inaccurately described in the video.

I love the Custom's Grill, but the tech sucks with zero ability to upgrade despite being identical in the places that the tech plugs in at.

I like the custom exterior much better! I suppose it must be more expense to let someone do detailed ordering on a truck! I would like the 6.2 in the custom and be able to add or take away certain components for a true custom truck! I hate having to take something a designer thinks I should have especially since a vehicle is the second most expensive thing one will buy!
Most of the dealer add ons were that way from the factory it is just a way to increase the perceived price.
Chevy dude, I have watched many of your videos and understand your attention to detail. Correct me if I am wrong but I don’t think the LT has LED front blinkers. Anyways keep up the great videos.
The only thing I disliked about the custom why doesn’t come with LED lights? Seriously still old lights set up whilst LT comes with cool LED lights. I settled down with LT duramax which is the best engine ever so in love with my truck. I have a question what’s the max size of tires I can put on a Silverado 2022 factory height not lifted that doesn’t affect turning points or touch the arch around the tires?

I bought a 2019 silverado 2500 with a royal teuck body. It was pretty much an expensive base model truck. Can I upgrade my truck by buying used parts from a higher trim level? Like my steeringwheel doesn't have radio buttons but can I buy a used one that does have them and install it? Are connections already there or would that consists or running the harnesses for that and or installing software to make it work? Thanks.
It’s pathetic how everyone is forced to get the base model or the custom because the LT and up front end looks horrendously ugly. First truck ever that the truck gets uglier as you get to higher trims. Why does the custom look so beefy and aggressive but the LT and higher looks like a cheesy Chinese knock off pickup?

I have the Trail Boss LT, for the most part, the truck is solid! Wish I would have waited a year so that I could have had the 6.2L. The 5.3L is a little under powered in my opinion. Also, for being a "Trail Boss", the traction control/ESC system is way too sensitive. Even when you hold down the button and turn off the ESC, the ESC comes back on after 35MPH. How are we supposed to have fun in the off road version of this truck when the traction control prevents you from having fun. Hopefully something will come out that I can program out the ESC system. Other than that, I love this truck!
Can you do an update on the 3.0 diesel, what trims it will be coming in please? Maybe a release date frame?

Just bought a 2019 Silverado rst 2 wheel drive 3 months ago. I am starting to have transmission problems. When it downshifts when I come to a stop the best way I could describe it is it clunks. Talk to the dealer about it they're telling me don't worry that's normal. It sure doesn't feel normal. What can I do?
Get a mechanic that is a GM expert find out what’s really wrong. See what service bulletins have been issued by Chevy.
Why would you want closing grill shutters that block air from going into the engine?

Seems like the Custom Trailboss is more popular than the LT TrailBoss. I see a lot more Customs than the LTs. Trucks are too expensive, I'll wait till they become a used truck in a couple years.
