You gotta check out the fairy tail openings there Way better than one piece openings

I've never heard the entire version, the OP normally is just a fraction from the beginning and the end.
Whole opening felt like a reward for watching nearly 1100 episodes, just seeing all the outfits they go through bring tears to my eyes
It honestly brings a tear to my eyes 😤
Couldn't have said it better!
someone said the exact same thing on the opening video 🤨📸

Hey Tony, no need to ever apologize for rewinding, your breakdowns and bringing attention to specific instruments and phrases in your reactions is always much appreciated, keep it up!
If I just wanted to listen to the music, I wouldn't watch a reaction.
It’s why I watch !!
@@Nitram4392 this!!!
Thank you for reacting to this incredible opening!
This song was sooo good!
@@DrumRollTonyReactsSinc you did one piece , try reacting to "IMU theme " .
@@DrumRollTonyReacts please react to the Ending song also
@@guts-smile Official OST not released yet though right? I0ve been wanting it xD

The composer of this song, "Kohei Tanaka," shares this video on his X
He is happy to pick up on his own scattered musical tricks.
oh that’s so sweet. ❤
wait he is the composer? i thought it was all kitadani, no wonder then, with Kitadani's vocals and Kohei's composition everything sounds amazing
@@ZuElVenado Kohei Tanaka was the composer for every Hiroshi Kitadani opening. I love the way his compositions blend with Kitadani's voice.
@@SennaTheSenna now it all makes sense! thanks! i love the ost Kohei has done, so no wonder all the openings with Hiroshi are also amazing, both of them give it such a unique and amazing style
I'm new here but I can tell you are a real music director because in my entire life, I never saw a 3-minute topic turn into 18 minutes and 42 seconds
Haha , yeaaaaa. It happens a lot here 😅
I love when that happens, i used to watch a psychologist who’d turn every 24 minute episode into a 2 hour video
ImDontai is an expert at this, except he waffles.
One Piece episodes?
Man it’s sad that some people just don’t get it when it comes to music like this. The delivery and intent in every moment alone is amazing.
It is probably one of the best One Piece openings ever and what makes it even better is the accompanying visuals which were storyboarded by the talented Megumi Ishitani.
She's an absolute storyboarding legend!
It might be one of the best anime openings ever
Some of the weird sounds effects you heard are probably tied to the anime arc's theme . It's a Sci-Fi and futuristic centric arc
There's also a side plot that (without spoiling) very much fits the vibe of the church bell-like moments and is reflected in the opening's visuals. I love how well they fit the mood and themes of this arc, it's perfect.
@SapphicFurry I love how you say side plot, but it's one of the craziest things ever😂 (yet still a side plot)
@@SapphicFurryAre you referring to Cobra?
This opening just DOES JUSTICE to One Piece. It goes SO hard and OP deserves it so much.
This opening has solidified its spot for my favorite anime opening ever. I was really hoping you’d cover it and enjoy it as much as I do. Thank you!!
Same here
Somehow Hiroshi Kitadani has been able to consistently make some of the best One Piece openings for the past 25 years, this man is the goat! I think this one is rapidly becoming my favourite of the bunch, even above We Go (which you covered on the channel several months ago). It’s such a great piece.
And your breakdown of the song is superb as always! I love when you make these longer videos, taking your time to pick apart all of the nuances. Speaking as someone who isn’t very well versed in music, these videos really help me get a deeper appreciation for these songs and understand why exactly the things that work for me as a listener work from a technical standpoint
This opening is signifying a lot imo.
The beginning of the final saga of OP.
The culmination of 25 years of manga.
The Straw Hats’ first arc as a Yonko crew
Especially considering that this OP is performed by Hitoshi Kitadani. The same guy who did We Are, We Go, We Can, and Over The Top. All kind of signifying a new BIG step for the crew.
Yeah it really feels like a "alright guys, you are going towards the end!" song
professional copy and paster😭
@@dogedog6249 That dude is copying and pasting the most popular comments from that 4k upload of the opening hahahaha
How hard is it to have an original thought? Y’all keep copying this comment lol
not we can, that's shit
The drummer taking "liberties" could be a nod to the previous Wano story, where we got the "Drums of Liberation" piece, which signifies a certain character obtaining true freedom.
I don't think they obtained "true freedom" just yet.
But definitely transformed into a true IDEAL for freedom, one that everyone can be inspired by.
You should cover more One Piece openings
Joy boy is truly out in our world. Everybody who looks at one piece just has a smile on their faces. Love the reaction!
Just look at the joy of this boy!
One of the main themes of the anime, especially at this point in the story is freedom, particularly having finally found the power and resources to be free to do things the way you've always wanted to. All of the exploratory riffs really play into that for me. Just like a crew on a ship, everyone in the band is together, going to the same destination, but they're all having their own adventure along the way.
I'm so glad to see a music director dissect animes musics, goods arguments, good ears and i can really hear passion on you"re voice ! Man, you make a big smile on my face !! Thank you and i really wish you the best :D from a guitarist who lives in France !!
your reaction was so good to this lmao so glad you did this one
Glad you enjoyed
Now it's time for the infamous the famous the legendary 4Kidz one piece rap English opening!
Sounds interesting
Yes! Please react to it!
While we're at international versions of the first opening, I want to recommend the German first Intro! Having watched it as a kid on TV here I'm obviously biased but I think it's a banger. It's called Die Legende
Great reaction and breakdown!
The main key of the song is G-Major. One of the many things that stand out about this arrangement to me is that it feels like a sequel to OP Opening 15 "We Go" but elevated, not so much in terms of the key (even though there are changes there too), but more so the instrumentation itself, same energy, same drive and awesome dynamics, each players instrument/part has something very unique to other to structure, plus it being sung by Hiroshi Kitadani adds that icing on the top.
G-major is Sol Mayor in spanish. Major Sun as a literal translation.
dawg this is like my 3rd time watching your reaction to this opening, i know you keep your videos short for better viewership but i love watching you really dig into pieces like this
listening to it with you it's pretty clear the composer had a lot of fun, almost like an adventure, for sure he had Gear Fifth in mind while writing it.
That last part is probably true. I've had Gear Fifth in mind since it happened.
This song is absolutely crazy and wild. Love it and it makes one feel sooo energetic!
Legit get goosebumps listening to this song thinking about how far One Piece has come, such an amazing song!
When you said it doesn't feel like one piece, it feels like a lot of pieces, I think that's a great nod to the title "Us" which is a lot of people, a lot of pieces, coming together as one for this final saga
No way this is gonna be awsome😭
This opening was made for manga readers dude. This is beautiful. The song matches perfectly too.
Love the choir part of this song. I enjoy your break downs of everything going on. Gets me to listen to parts of the song I may not have noticed before and lets me appreciate it more. We definitely need to get more of your reactions to OP songs.
my personal take on the radical shifts in key and tone in sections of this song is that it it trying to "mimic" the structure of narrative of the story of One Piece, which is told by a crew (ensemble) of unique characters and their journey from different island to different island where each island feels like its own unique story.
I dont think theres anyone who really goes in depth as you do with these, it really shines a new perspective on the song and how it all comes together. Itd also be great if you checked out the ED to solo leveling
2:40 its like you said before "the more you know, the more you don't know"
This opening is great and well worth checking out with visuals, too ! The director of the visuals of this anime opening, a woman by the name of Megumi Ishitani, is absolutely amazing. She has directed almost all of the best episodes of One Piece in recent memory, aswell as done incredible storyboards for them for the artists to really get her vision of the most important scenes.
This opening caught me by surprise honestly, it was such a good mix of some newer anime sounds but still had that old One Piece vibe. Loved it!
Wow, having watched the actual opening video quite a few times, i never knew there was an instrumental section in the middle and they are killin' it.
It's so fun to watch your reactions, man! You can really dissecate the music and have fun at the same time!
i am so glad i discovered anime music as well along with japanese music altogether. it has taken me through my life ever since elementary until now that i am an adult. and your perspective as a professional really helps me appreciate it more because of all the technicalities that could just be diluted with the listener's emotions but it means so much more to know how intricate each piece/song is.
The arc that this is for focuses on a LOT of story lines and a bunch of different islands, which why it’s so, everywhere
Idk if Tony listened to We Are, We Go or some of Hiroshi's other OP songs or if he was told this but OP really changed Hiroshi Kitadani's life since this was basically his last ditch effort kinda deal when he did We Are.
9:10 i love that you pointed that out, because that just made me realize that i really love that aspect about this song. i love drums. ❤ i've loved drums before i even knew they were so important to one piece's story, but one piece made me love them even more
love it when tony is so enthusiastic
LIVE LOVE TONY
I'm a music student and I just caught up with the latest opening of one piece, and searched for a REAL musician to react to this. Sadly all i've found was them reacting to the animation even thi they put *musician* in their title. Just subscribed cuz of this!
Welcome in. What's your main instrument?
I do vocals for my applied music subject.
I’m really glad u reacted to this, thank you so much
It’s crazy that I started One Piece after you uploaded the vid and I’m already caught up for like 4 months but had to come back for this opening
My favorite parts were the beginning and ending. When it gets all grand and church-y, it just makes me feel small, like I'm gazing at something much bigger than myself. I fall for it just about every time a song throws in a part like that, but it's fine, I still really like them.
Love you Tony and thanks for this great breakdown! I absolutely loved the piece before but after your explanation and listening to it together I love it even more!!!
I love vids like this bc i feel like a lot of people don't really take in all the parts of the music they listen to so its refreshing
I love seeing people who are music directors glaze anime intros its my fav.
🤔
This is up there for one of my favourite openings, it just sound so fun and refreshing going into a new arc
To contextualise this opening, the protagonist's crew are on the "Future Island" Egghead right now. It's a very scientifically advanced (a motif you can probably identify some bits of instrumentation as supporting given that info) and whimsical. It also sets up the final saga of a 25+ year long series, and the scope of the story is incredibly grand; more so than ever. I really feel like this piece does a phenomenal job of representing the content of the story tonally.
This is such a crazy masterpiece. This has become my favorite One Piece opening and probably my new favorite anime opening.
love these breakdowns tony. Honestly the best reaction channel out there
Thank you! you made me appreciate this opening even more now ❤️
With how it progresses this OP feels like a shift into higher gear, the next big chapter of the adventure
Dude this opening is so fucking good. They throw so many fakes at you, to they put in some nods to other ost’s etc. god it’s so fucking good. Not only that, this ost is signifiying that the crew is finally reaching the end 😢 in the openining cinematic it shows all of luffy’s costumes he wore throughout the years and it shows the crew nearing laugh tale (the final island) where the one piece is. I started this anime last year and it took me 7 months to catch up to wano, but man it’s been a crazy journey.
The energy in the First Take video for this song is amazing, every person is so cool
I fucking LOVE One Piece.
i love your vids man, thank you for going this way
The length is fine we are there for your analysis on top of the fun , if anyone just wanna watch the opening or a layman just go "wow" there are other venues
Tbh i really love when you talk about the super small details cuz i can relate and hear em tooooo ❤❤❤
I remember finishing Wano at last, clicking "next episode" and, suddenly, this opening started.
Goosebumps man, real goosebumps.
What I find so incredible about this song is how every time you think it’s reached its peak it one-ups itself one more time
Another Kitadani reaction? And it’s the latest OP opening?
Heck yeah!
Wow actual feedback instead of just blankly listening to the song
Interesting to point out, this opening was composed by Kohei Tanaka, who is also the composer for the anime background OST. He rarely works on the openings, be he also composed the very first one, with Hiroshi Kitadani as the singer as well. It's a 25 year long collaboration between those two, and they're just as good as they were in 1999, if not better. I'd love to hear your take on We Are!
I was waiting for you to listen to this one, it's such a rich and diverse piece. Truely a certefied banger.
Man, when I heard the op for the first time, I stayed still enjoying it, and running to catch up on the anime.
I would love for you to cover many more OP openings. There's some real gems in there! Can't wait to watch this one.
This song is very adventurous in a way that it made a very unique take than any other songs. I am One Piece fan so I knew the opening will go crazy. I recommend you watch the opening video, they made the song more hyped with visuals.
if you're looking for new openings to cover, I'd definitely recommend "Bling-Bang-Bang-Born" by Creepy Nuts, the opening for season 2 of Mashle: Magic and Muscles. It's weird, hip hop and rap bundle with a ton of energy, and likely my opening of the season despite not watching the show. Definitely an early contender for opening of the year.
He should do also yofukashi no uta songs while at that.
He reacted to it just now😂🎉
Damn the song slaps, thank you for the recommendation!
this song is actually done by the same artists as the other one piece opening you reacted to, great stuff
THIS IS WHAT WE HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR!!!!!
masterfull composition and a masterpiece of animation in all senses. One of the best openings ive seen in anime.
No need to apologize for pausing and breaking the song down and explaning the musical science behind it all thats why we watch if we just wanted to the song we just look it up the breakdowns are what we come to you for
12:35 definitely has to do with the main characters new transformation, as drums and the specific beat is what is heard. Maybe the beat is a little slower than heard here though.
when he say the opening sound like "evangelic" he so rigth cause the voice is singing "SAAAAVE US!!"
I can’t wait for Assu to be performed on The First Take.
I love listening to these because a lot of descriptions music people have are like exactly what’s going on in the plot and with the characters. It makes me so happy to over analyze this
“The drummer is very exploratory, they’re taking a lot of liberties”
Bro, One Piece freaks like me are screaming at that sentence
The way you describe this opening could also be applied as an analogy for the writing of the story
you know the song is good when tony makes a 20 minute video on it when its only 3 minutes long🤣
Song is meant to sound experimental at certain points since the story at the time of this opening is centered around an area with all sorts of whacky technology invented by an oddball genius. It's also just reflecting the whimsical and chaotic nature of the show
The music is already good, but the visuals in the opening sequence really tied all those things perfectly, the hype is unreal!
The parts with "all the weird noise in the background" aren't a One Piece thing
I think it's really just the song trying to do absolutally everything at once
(I mean this in the most loveing way possible)
Lol Roger that
Thanks so much for analyzing this opening song!
I loved this one. But my favorite thing they've ever done was the ending before this one, "Raise" by Chili Beans. Just makes you feel good.
I love how this guy really pin points the smallest details of the instruments played for the opening 🔥 Cause of this guy I can literally hear some of the other instruments played in other openings 😭
I wish I could play the drums on a band like this. I'm DYING for playing music that makes my blod boil. This is so intense and wonderful.
Imagine doing a live concert in a festival with these kind of songs, OMG I'd faint!
one piece gets super emotional and this opening mix all of them, its a ride of more than 25 years, this opening show "all of us" because we care for all of us and our fights! Its amazing, just like your knowledge. Thnks!
Little do you know, your channel has uploaded _many_ reactions to music from the One Piece franchise. Tot Musica, for example.
How seriously does One Piece take music? They cast Ado for a non-canon movie character, specifically because said character has a power which activates through song/singing.
To someone whos watching the anime for over 20 years, that wat the song it looked like the most effort put on it And its so good to hear it, interesting to hear some expert talking about this
such a fun song and fun reaction. This song fits one piece perfectly, pure fun and lots of varieties
God this song is too good to be real, hype
Love finding new music channels that react to anime content! Great video🎉
Im not a musician,i never played any instruments...but i somehow understand what is he saying lol
Back to watch this again! Finally watching One Piece over 900 episodes left wish me luck!💜
😂😂😂😂
Good luck! Hope you enjoy. I'm rewatching. I've been watching this show for like 15 years now. I want to refresh my memory since it sounds like it's in the final stretch and literally almost everything matters. Even things you think are small come back to play a part hundreds of episodes later. I'm like on ep 200ish
You already reacted to this band and this vocalist when you did We Go another song made by them and you loved that song
As much as I love the nostalgic One Piece openers which are iconic, this Opener trumps them all.
Thanks for reacting to this op
Wonderful job🎉🎉🎉
Thank you for the reaction!!! All The Best!!! 🙏❤
I don't know the exact keys, but I think the misdirect you're talking about is a ii-III-VI progression - whereas normally you would expect ii-V-I, instead the ii functions as a backdoor resolution to a chord that's outside the key but is a valid resolution in context, and then VII is to III as I is to V. This is accentuated by the melody singing a #5 (the tonality-defining 3 of the III chord) where a 5 (obviously the I of the V chord) is expected.
