    A perfectly done traditional hedge cut. From a horticultural side however if one wishes to have a full rich growth the crown cut must be narrower then the sides so that the lower reaches of the shrub receive adequate light. Allowing the crown to continually get wider will lead to leafless scraggly dead lower limbs. This cut was perfect for the way most people have shrubs and hedges cut.

      John you are absolutely right I trim cedars hedges for a living along with all ornamental shrubs ect. Alot of people don't understand this, Naturally they grow triangle so the sun hits the top to bottom. With it trimmed upside-down the sun never properly hits all sides as it needs to have dense growth. Thank you for enlightening people👍have a good evening fellow trimmer

    • @alonso68joe1
      @alonso68joe1 3 года назад +4

      I understand it from your point of view, but knowing vanity being mankinds favorite sin; Ill take this hedge job over the triangle side you suggested any day of the week. The shrubs look healthy and green. I wholeheartedly believe that plants respond to some people more than others. This dude did a masterful job of hedge trimming. Hes got that green thumb!

    • @AnthropoidOne
      @AnthropoidOne 3 года назад

      Yeah..agree with John Hendrickson. Those shrubs at the beginning should be cut off at ground level and allowed to regrow

    • @davidgreen7342
      @davidgreen7342 2 года назад

      @@AnthropoidOne that would kill this variety of Shrub. Evergreens don't like being cut-down to restart. You do this with leafy shrubs

    You should see if the church could start a small gardening club. 1 hour a week to do some weeding. There are aggressive vines growing in the bushes. Also, they could water the grass and spread some grass seed around. Few things are more peaceful than gardening at church.

    Personally, I see no good reason to have "shrubs" that are 6' tall unless they are meant to be a hedge between yards used as a privacy barrier. I know it would have been a lot of material to haul away but imho, I would have cut all of them by 50% or more in some instances.
