    I used to do this sort of work in the UK, though I was never as energetic as you! I admire your work and enjoy watching your videos. You deserve a very successful business.
    When I worked on hedges like this, I used a Henchman 4 legged ladder. They are very lightweight, and are very hard to topple over. They also work on sloping and uneven ground, and have a guard rail to stop you leaning too far.
    I had a Henchman Senior (very large) which might not fit in your van. But there is a Henchman Hi-Step Junior which I hope you might find interesting, and safer when working on your own.

    Know my comment will not be with everyone else, but here goes.... I like the natural wilder look. I do realize the exterior needed to be trimmed badly. But personally I would have left the yard side a bit more wild. Mind not 'no trim' just like the natural full round look. But like I said this is a personal opinion.
    You did a fantastic job on clearing the walk and keeping still looking like a well established hedge

    • @kustorez777
      @kustorez777  Год назад +6

      So now it's against the law for a person to grow their own hedge, which they paid for with their own money, as tall and thick as they please on their own property, which they paid for with their own money. Then I suppose the people who made that law will use flyers made from paper which comes from trees to solicit money to plant trees because there's not enough greenery to counteract all the toxins that are being put into the atmosphere by gas burning equipment used to cut down trees to use to make paper to print flyers on. Oh and not to mention the gas powered equipment used to destroy the beautiful hedge the man had growing on his very own personal property. A hedge that was in fact good for the environment. Did that sound as stupid as the act of cutting down the mans hedge or do I need to anesthetized a couple or three dozen brain cells in order to dumb down enough to scrap this one off the bottom of the stupid barrel.

      @@s.a.adams-ford1216 What you wrote is all correct and logical, but we have very interesting rules, in this case there was a warning for the fact that this Hedge has grown into the city and interferes with passers-by. We also have such a law that if a tree grows in your yard and it grows large, you cannot cut it down without the permission of the city, because again you can be fined.😳

      So cut trim parts on the street side and leave the man to have the hedge he paid for on the property he paid for. I don't know where you live but it sounds like a subanimal communist run country. Pretty much what the current subanimal administration here in America is trying to force on the actual human species of our country.

    Many years ago, before your time I watched a show on our PBS channel that had an "expert" on hedge trimming demonstrating the proper way of trimming them. This was well before powered trimmers existed. He said there should be a slight taper in from bottom to top to let the light in more equally if I remember right to keep a healthier hedge. Is this still done?

    • @kustorez777

      Yes, it is, because it gives the new shoots more light, which improves their growth, but this does not apply to all hedges.

    I have trimmed many hedges of cedar in Ontario....if you trim them too much they die. Did this scalped hedge grow back?

    • @kustorez777
      @kustorez777  2 года назад +1

      That's right, if you cut conifers like cedar, thuja, yew, too much, they won't grow and the cut will wither away, but this is a laurel hedge, you can cut it very hard and it will grow back anyway!

    Just show us one street that doesn't look like a perfect little fairy town, with neat little brick homes, stones paths, and perfect hedges...
    I could only WISH my fellow townspeople were like this ..a warning for a hedge overgrown. Instead we deal with overgrown lawns, and trash blowing all over town.

    • @kustorez777

      Thank you very much for your comment. You are absolutely right that we have a lot of beautiful houses, but still there are very dirty and not well maintained yards and streets, but still people are trying to keep order. City services are trying to control what gets in the way of people and so there were complaints from people that the hedge interfered with walking on the sidewalk, so the owner has received a warning.
