I brought the gen 1 couple of weeks ago not knowing gen 2 release smh
Bet they had a sale on it? But yeah I’m sure the old ones nice also but this new 5.0amp battery is pretty nice.

Why? It’s light weight and cuts wood. Were you trying to do m18 things with a m12?
M12 sucks, I use the 18v and DeWalt's 60v line. I'm more of a Makita guy
M12 has its place, I agree that I would never use 12V as a primary choice however, the M12 lineup is great for low power finish work and smaller tasks around the house. Also, the fact that it is so lightweight makes it very nice to work with on things that don’t require all the juice.
The M12s are great for their intended use. Anyone who says otherwise has either:1 Never used them or 2 are dumbasses expecting 18v+ performance.
