    Great vid dude! But when you recorded all of this? You still here? Just kidding :)
    You're right many plants look different and we have some fav variation from some of these plants too. Sometimes we need to work with what we have in hand, but other times we plan ahead and go exactly after the look and feel we remember. This does not mean others are wrong, but maybe one specific variation if preferred for its color, growth or leaf shape.
    We will launch the video tomorrow with you, my friend. Great tutorial just saw it this afternoon! (Viktor)

    This subject come's up from time to time a DNA work up is needed even 2 science based site's say different same plants but clearly photo is unclear to Europe Coming from different sides of the globe I believe mislabelling that 3 to 5 types are of type in apprearance type's are in hobby 1 type is Australian 1 is South Asian 1 South Eastern Asia 1 possible hybrid cross the 3 big Plant companies are in the game of growing hybrids. Collect if possible from source's should be made if some place can get a grant.Also another type that origin unknown that is in North American market that appears slightly different again,(this may also come from Plant trade via tissue culture. Some Aquarium plants can be the same plant but 100,000 years growing in separate waterways can make difference's (many fish share the same that DNA is the same but markings are of visable seperate type)

    I have the variety, "Hygropila Polysperma" ... My friends in Spain use it a lot, and here in Germany where I live, it is a very popular plant too.
    It's so strong, that you need to shoot it with a shotgun if you whant to kill her !!!
    Only the "Egeria Najas" is so resistant, I have never seen or known such resistant plants, in the worst conditions, in low light, without CO2, with algae .... Your plants will die but the Hygropila Polysperma and the Egeria Najas .. They will continue there as if nothing happened! 😂😂😂😂
    Great video, Like always 👍

  • @FAAOAquascaping
    @FAAOAquascaping 5 лет назад +13

    Hi Jurijs, you can be right... Mostly because we are talking about two different nurseries. But are you sure the water parameters are similar? Let me explain why I'm asking.
    I have only Aquaflora plants in my tanks and I have noticed that a few trimmings from one tank to another the same plant (Rotala green) looks different after adapted.
    Height of the tank matters, gh matters and mostly light intensity. The one that was narrow is now normal and not doing creeping anymore and the opposite just happened in the other tank.
    I notice too that when the plant is not so exposed to intense light and more in the shadow, just in the same tank, it's even smaller than the one exposed to intense light... I know that is crazy, but Rotala green is probably one of the most weird plant in what concerns to shape and growth.

    • @JurijsJutjajevs
      @JurijsJutjajevs  5 лет назад +6

      I agree with you Filipe, however I think at GreenAqua both aquariums with Rotala green are same height, same light, and same water parameters (more or less) it would be interesting to swap some trimmings and see if they change the growth pattern or keep the specifics

    • @FAAOAquascaping
      @FAAOAquascaping 5 лет назад +2

      @@JurijsJutjajevs the only way is to ask Green Aqua to mix both rotalas in one tank and check after a normal trimming.
      Tanks may look similar but I'm sure the water is not and the bottom system is different too.

    • @JurijsJutjajevs
      @JurijsJutjajevs  5 лет назад +3

      Plants adopt and change to different parameters. But if 2 plants that are supposed to be the same grow different under same Parameters, now you have different varieties

  • @freddiechapman7312
    @freddiechapman7312 5 лет назад +2

    Some might think it’s environmental, but suppliers obviously have different variants of species and locales that aren’t regarded as separate species. Anyway, the aquarium hobby isn’t known for its accurate classification of organisms. I knew about there being different Rotala ‘Green’. There are also variations in Anubias morphs like Aquaflora Pangolino and Dennerle Pangolino. Needle Leaf ferns have different forms, maybe it’s narrow mixed up with needle leaf. Helianthum Tennelum has different morphs. There are likely others I’ve forgotten.

    I can recommend this article for some people more interested in the matter: "Water-Wisteria as an ideal plant to study heterophylly in higher
    aquatic plants" by Li et al, Plant Cell Reports 36 (2017).

    • @freddiechapman7312
      @freddiechapman7312 5 лет назад

      Elhazar It’s perhaps due to the environment. However there are variations in suppliers variants of plants that they call the same name.

    • @TheTablet314
      @TheTablet314 5 лет назад +1

      @@freddiechapman7312 I doubt that they're different variants, because it's an overly complex assumption: It would imply that ALL the plants from each vendor would have a different origin (as we're talking about whole populations, not isolated sports in single stems or so). In case of R. rotundifolia "green" that would mean having the absurd luck of finding another mutant that can't produce non-green pigments and for H. pinnatifida you'd have to collect some new from the wild, which is quite an financial effort when one can just buy some from a competitor.
      Hence it seems much more reasonable to think it's just environmental factors that are neglected as the influence of environmental factors on leaf shape is well documented and we don't have to make questionable assumptions about the origin of the plants.

    • @JurijsJutjajevs
      @JurijsJutjajevs  5 лет назад +1

      According to your theory - if both plants are added to the same tank, will they grow differently or align and look the same?

    • @TheTablet314
      @TheTablet314 5 лет назад

      @@JurijsJutjajevs I'd think they should grow same same after after two to three months at max. Such a long time because the more mobile nutrients can be accessed by the plants for the longest time, hence it takes long to fully adapt to the changed environment. Keep in mind that nutrients here also includes Mg, K, Cl and SO4 besides the NPK + Micros. But of course former are also exchanged by wood and soil or leeched by rocks and are an often overlooked environmental factor. That said, besides the nutrition side of things there is the very hard to quantify allelopathy side of things, which may also are an influence but I assume these are negligible.
      A better test would be to grow them both in a tank with just them to eliminate allelopathy influences.
