    Love this plant. No Co2, a single squirt of tropica specialist once an month (or 2), Aquael Smart Leddy 2 6W light, 30L tank, grows amazingly, starts browny green, then develops into a deep red as it grows taller towards the light
    2:02 That shrimplet is crazy tiny!

    OT: new to the hobby and I was looking up this plant when I came upon this video. Clueless as I was, I swear I recognized the voice of the person talking in this video. Hi George Farmer, huge fan.

    In low tech? You might have a chance if somebody gives you a plant already growing underwater.
    If you buy one land grown?..No chance it will adapt with no Co2. My bottom line observation. With Co2..great versatile plant.

    I have this plant growing with no c02 and it has lost most of its big leaves but I can see small leaves growing so i'm hoping it may well survive. But great information and great video 100%

      I noticed small leave too and then I realized how it grows and propagates.- it makes runners above the substrate - it just branches out and makes a new plant. Like in the video, you can snip off those new plants and place them in other places of your tank, or attach them to hardscape. But never discard them into local waterways! Enjoy!

    Why do the leaves start curling in a about a week after planting? I've noticed this in Crypts as well..

    • @vinvinmega
      @vinvinmega 4 года назад +4

      Crypts tend to melt because they have to adapt to underwater confitions, that's normal. But If your General plant growth is not existing you have to add morr nutrients (Most important one CO2!)

    why does mine develop pinholes and turn yellow which turns to brown subsequently? even the newer leaves at the bottom turns yellow too?

    • @TropicaAquariumPlants
      @TropicaAquariumPlants  4 года назад +1

      It is normally a case of lack of nutrition. Try experimenting with new values. Read more about nutrition tropica.com/en/plant-care/liquid-fertilisers/premium-nutrition/ or watch our dedicated video ruclips.net/video/lbR8vA8k0SI/видео.html

    I love how you point out that one never should spread out aquatic plants to natural waters. I do some work with foreign invasive plant species and it's horrible what we done with our nature.

      Lack of nutrients

    • @mariliaviana7274
      @mariliaviana7274 4 года назад

      this plant really suffers when the temperature is too high, so if where you live it’s hot right now or your heater temperature is higher, that might be the case. if not, then probably lack of nutrients
