Borneo a treasure of nature is being destroyed thats why whe have ghost buce,i think Tropica should focus on acuatic plants that need our help and at least live in our aquariums for future generations, love George input on the (hobby) art aquascapers.
hi George, glad you're doing well. Now that I have my aquarium going I would love to have some of this plant! Thank you for all the information on this beautiful plant!
i dont mean to be off topic but does anybody know a trick to log back into an Instagram account?? I stupidly lost my password. I love any help you can give me.
@Jaylen Kylen thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site through google and I'm in the hacking process atm. Seems to take a while so I will reply here later with my results.
Hi, our plants are cultivated in our own greenhouse / laboratory thus have no impact on their wild presence whereas some vendors might pick it directly from nature. The bucephalandra is particularly endangered thus please be careful not to support such vendors.
Hi Eugene. Unfortunately it is hard to tell which variations are which, in theory it should be the Japan but "given nicknames" tend to be just that at the end of the day; with some of them being exactly the same.
I don't know what is wrong with my setup, but in my tanks bucephalandras and Java ferns really struggle. I have decent lights, tropica substrate, tropica specialized nutrition fertilizer. Other plants are doing fine, my anubias plants are even occasionally flowering. But buce is just slowly dying. I have very soft water. Could that be the problem?
Hi, is the light too strong or direct? What are the plants growing on? With soft water you might have to add more fertilizers than normal. Have you tried checking your water parameters?
@@TropicaAquariumPlants Hi. On my 22 gallon tank I have 1741lm lamp (Twinstar 60B) and on my 10 gallon I have 1217lm lamp (Twinstar 45B), but the one on 10 gallon is dimmed as at full brightness I was having problems with hair algae. Bucephalandras struggle in both tanks. There isn't anything casting shadow over Bucephalandras, but they are relatively close to the substrate. Should I try to create shadow over them? They are growing on malaysian driftwood. pH in my tanks is 7-7.2, KH 3-4, GH ~4 (for KH and GH i only have test strips). In my 10 gallon nitrates are at around 5 ppm. In my 22 gallon even with daily dosing of fertilizer I don't see any nitrates. I guess its because in that tank I have a lot of happy hornwort.
Bucephalandra doesn't need high lighting... I just used 9 watt led. Light only.. It growing successfully good.. Maybe is your light.. Or maybe something else problem...
@@zeeaffanzeecrafts5238 Now its growing well. Two things changed - I got amano shrimps and started adding shrimp salts (GH+/KH+) to my aquarium. So I guess my water might have been too soft. Shrimps are also great gardeners - I don't have a single piece of algae in that tank now.
maybe bucephalandra micro other name of bucephalandra mini/supermini (our country called it),and have different leaves with kedagang. yeah bucephalandra origin plans from our country (Borneo/Kalimantan,Indonesia)
Wow, your pronunciation makes so much more sense than saying “boo-seffa-landra”. So much nicer to say “bookahfalandra”, which I assume is the correct way. 😂
It's a lot of years since this plant is in the hobby and still there is no good way to get your hands on sone those species. You see 3-4 species in shops and that's it. Who does Tropica sell to?
Indonesia terutama kalimantan terkenal dengan buchepalandra
Very beautiful...nice to see mentioned in this video my friend Massimo
Bucephalandras very beatiful and expensive plants for turkey. But video is really helpful for first plant care.

Put plants in saltwater aquarium. They didn't die.
That's quite interesting. Have they survived longer than a week?
I love buce and this one is on my to-buy list. Thanks for the informative video.
Slower growth ever 😭

I thought "BUCEPHALANDRA KEDAGANG" was extinct in 2016
We do not have information in that regard, our kedagang is 100% house grown.
