If you accordion fold before you put in your lap instead of folding over itself as Tracy did you may find it easier to sew that seam without having to flip it and risk snagging anything. I started doing this years ago and makes sewing as piece gets bigger easier and easier. Keep it loose and depth of your lap. Good for binding too.
I Absolutely Love ❤️ how this quilt has evolved Tracy and Oh, the icing on the cake. Pink gingham minky, Perfect! Now I'm just waiting for the quilting! Thank You for Sharing 😊
i love the minky it looks great what a beautiful quilt you do such great work and i have learned a lot from you i go back to your shows all the time thanks
I love those borders and how you figure things out as you go. That's me, too! Thanks for showing us how you did it. I'm making a baby quilt in the next week or so and may give that a go!
I am moving from New York to Minnesota all of my belongings are in storage including my sewing machine. When I get it back will definitely be trying many of the great things you are teaching me. Love your channel keep up the amazing work.
Absolutely love the way you have created the border on this quilt 🥰 It was a lot of work, but definitely worth it 👍 Thanks for the great explanation 👏👏🇬🇧 And that minky is fabulous 🤩
What a great video! Couple of ideas for ya 🙂 I put a border on a huge oversized queen once and I found using corsage pins worked really well. They are very long, don't bend and I either make sure the points are buried in a seam or face up so I can see them. That helped me from getting poked so much lol. Also bulldog office clips or spring type clothes pins, work better than the little quilt clips if you're working with heavy fabric or lots of layers. I really love your videos and that Pink minky is beautiful 😍❤️ I would love to learn how to do a scalloped border sometime. They are so beautiful but mine never turn out right. They are always different sizes and wonky. 😆 Thanks for sharing and teaching us so much❣️
I really love the fabrics you've chosen for this quilt. And your pattern complements the fabric wonderfully. The minky you are putting on as backing is perfect.
You're welcome 💕 I'm having so much fun with this quilt🌸 I am interested as well to see if I use batting...I may have another alternative up my sleeve too LOL🤣
That backing is to die for!!! I’m obsessed with minkie and cuddle fabric. 😊 where would I find that gorgeous gingham? It’s soooo pretty. Love the borders, and your logic behind attaching them.
@@TheSewingChannel well it looks like I’m headed to Hobby Lobby first thing in the morning. I’d go tonight but apparently Mother Nature has decided to drop a few inches of snow this evening. 🫣🫣
Thank you for this series! I absolutely love the fabric, quilt top and can’t wait to see the finished result. I haven’t sewed with minky but I’m interested in using for the quilt I’m working on. Do I need batting with minky? Do I need binding? Love all of your videos ❤
I love the quilt and the way you have called it. I also love your cutting tool. I think the handle would help me a great deal. Would you be kind enough to give me the name of your cutter so I can see if I can find it here in UK. I live in Jersey in the Channel Islands. Thank you so much for sharing your talent with us.

Tracy, when you were putting together your bottom left corner, that three piece strip that you were matching to the rest of your quilt, You should’ve just sewn it on top of your pink gingham border instead
@@TheSewingChannel well, it is an idea for next time. There will be times that I’ll do something a certain way and then later think to myself.” Gee, why did I do with that way? “ It is all part of the process
Good evening flower, i have a stupid question for you, i am on my 2nd quilt so you will realise that i am super clever at these things....not, but do you add wadding on the back and then the minky or is it just minky? See no wi know that others will be shouting at me about being thick, but i just don't know how you finish off turning it into a quilt from being a patchwork topper. Will your top/quilt go over the full bed, coming down at the sides and turned under and then over the top of the pillows or will it just go so far under the pillows? The first quilt i made was for my autistic grandson and i made it to be able to tuck it under the pillows, before going over the top of them, and i have made my 2nd quilt to do the same (it's came out 10ft long). I would be very grateful for the help. Norah, Glenochil, Scotland
Great questions Nora...here's a link to a quilt where I put minky on back only without batting: ruclips.net/video/SxlyflNByv4/видео.html Now I've done it both ways...batting and minky together tend to be "heavy"...I hope that helps.💕
