I'm loving all your disclaimers lol. I like the idea of starting with soapy water and then using the magic eraser for the spots that need it rather than for the entire process. I also cut the magic eraser into at least 6 pieces and I think that makes it go a little further. And I think you are probably safe in using the Benzoyl peroxide. I've even used it since making a video about those statistics. I felt like, as a content creator, the responsible thing to do was share what information I could find so people could make informed decisions, but personally that information convinced me to adjust (temporarily at least) the *way* I use it (ex: outside, without a heat lamp). Lovely explanation of why and how you approached her hair. Great video!
@@agtakesover thanks so much! Love the hot tip for cutting up the magic eraser- I will definitely be doing that! & that totally makes sense about the benzoyl peroxide! I think disseminating that information was very helpful. I now live in a different apartment without a balcony, so I've been taking my dolls to work (we have an outdoors working space) and leaving my dolls there while I work 🤣 I think outdoors is great for many reasons- in addition to the cancer risk, I don't want my cats eating it 😭
I appreciate your comments addressing the Benzoyl peroxide. I think many of us are nervous about using it. I do have cancer in my family so I will stay on the side of caution. You are right that it should be a personal decision for everyone. Caroline is one of my favourite American girl dolls. She was so worth the trouble you went to. She looks great! Nice to see that the stains did come off her legs too 😄
@@CherishedDollFriends absolutely! Knowing your own risk is so key to decision-making. Caroline is so adorable! I ended up not keeping this one (I am just so picky 🙃), but am keeping my eye out for "the" one!
@@azeverinarizona1931 they're at pretty much any store you would buy brushes at (target, Walmart, pharmacy stores like CVS). I have lots of guides on my blog (fixmyagdoll.com) with Amazon links as well if that's easier!

Just a suggestion.....get the dollar tree magic eraser. They are $1.25 for 2 and they hold up better than the name brand magic eraser. 🙂
@@sweetpea0308 that is actually what I do! But a giant bag of baking soda costs the same amount.
Not familiar with a “wet brush”. Would you please share where to buy them?
