Leave your guess of how much $$$ I spent on ALL of these dolls total down below 💀 the person that gets the closest will be crowned MVP HOPEFUL of the year 👑
I literally got teary eyed when you decided to keep Kirsten. My daughter still has her Kirsten doll that she got for Christmas in 1990 and she is a very well loved doll. Thank you for donating all those dolls, I can only imagine the joy you brought to all those sick, precious little girls. ❤
I LOVE that you donated all of the dolls to your local children’s hospital! What a great way to donate and spread the love and wealth around the holiday season! Thank you! Makes me proud to be one of your subscribers
I thought the same! So many RUclipsrs blow insane amounts of money on their videos and sometimes it’s hard not to think about what that money could’ve done. That wasn’t the case with this video! All those kids are going to get a new friend, and if they’re well taken care of they’ll likely be worth even more money as they age 😊
I had a pretty messed up childhood. I never got any of these toys when I was a kid. So now I’m trying to heal my inner child by watching these videos. And I love that you donated them to other little kids. Thanks for sharing! 😄
The ending of this video made me tear up...I understand feeling so connected to these dolls then losing that as you grow older, only to find it again. I loved this so so much!
The fact you took your favorite with you, and the shot of her on your lap, made me burst into tears!! Watching it was like soothing to my inner child. It hit so hard for me. I had Rebecca and a Truly Me and yearnedddd for so many in the early 2000s. This video was a childhood dream!
My mom used to work at an American Girl factory! Every year for Christmas they'd give their employees a big box of toys and books including the American girl doll of the year and the Holiday Barbie! I remember being so excited every time my mom would bring the box home. I'm getting so many good fuzzy feelings watching this video
That is what I would do if I ever had a factory. The worse thing to do would be to work in a factory and never be able to afford the products produced there.
I had Grace growing up. I got her from someone who donated the dolls to a children's hospital so this video means the world to me. I was 10 and had my first seizure, died twice, and had to stay in the hospital for a few days after my drug induced coma and they gave me Grace. So, seeing someone make a video about American girl dolls and donating the dolls to a children's hospital makes me happier than anything ever could. Thank you so much for doing this Hope!
I love how American Girl touches upon serious subjects such as Addy’s harsh life, including slavery, and Emily’s life, including her house getting bombed during the war. It’s very important to teach kids about the difficult times in history while including some fun and positive ones, such as Samantha being a wealthy orphan living with her grandmother and Cécile being born into a wealthy family, wanting to become an actress.
Sadly, they are straying away from sharing stories with any meaningful substance to them. Because the little girls these days only care about sparkles and unicorns and bright colors. I will always be drawn to the historical dolls 😢
I love the historical dolls and have Emily and Molly and those two were actually how I begun becoming very interested in WW2 which probably wouldn’t have happened without them
That’s so beautiful you donated all those dolls.God surely blesses those who give. I just did the same thing and it makes me happy to know there are children who will have a joyous holiday this year.
@@Dolly_junkieThat's not even true. Courtney's story talks about the serious HIV misinformation in the 80s and she even has a friend with HIV. Many of the other books have great talking points for kids and even ignorant adults as well.
I had felicity, OG samantha, OG kit, Addy, Emma, I forgot the one with the glasses and the freckles.. I feel like she had red hair… I loved this video, totally brought back memories of playing “teacher” teaching them how to read and write .. and funny enough I’m actually studying to get my teaching license.. thank you for a bringing back a sweet memory!
Haha, same. But seeing Hope being all excited about them is just precious. I remember being in the USA in 2005 and I didn't see them anywhere, though I gravitated more towards trading cards at the time.
I’m 21 and watching this gave me so much nostalgia. I literally cried at the end! I had Addy and Saige (still have them somewhere at my parents house). I used to love watching RUclips videos featuring the dolls. I even made a few stop-motion”films” of my own lol. My mom built me a dollhouse that was like 5ft tall with a bunch of handmade furniture. I learned how to French braid on my dolls and how to sew clothes and purses for them and my friend’s dolls. I loved playing with my American Girl dolls 💕 thank you reminding me of that time! This is the first video I’ve seen on this channel & I’m subscribing!
I’m also 21 and I begged my family for an American Girl Doll when I was younger. They took me to the actual store to pick one out. It was a dream come true. And I still love them and sometimes I sneak to their website and see the newer dolls. ❤
This was so cool to see. Growing up I had six and loooooved them. I had Kirstin (my first American Girl Doll), Samantha, Nelly, Kit, Kaya, and Marisol. Marisol was so cool because I got her when I celebrated my birthday with a few friends at the American Girl Store in NYC. This was great to relive those memories, especially of the store ❤️
I love that you donated them to a childrens hospital and hope that inspires other too! (Im also so glad you kept Kirsten, there's nothing like your first doll
As a doll collector I was over here like “Omg. She’s opening them, what is she going to do with them!?” Then Hope says she’s donating them to a children’s hospital and instant tears. 😭❤️
@@jenniwann7461We got to write them off when we bought them for the video- which will save us about 30% on what we spent.. But we don’t get to write them off again when we donate them. Hope genuinely likes to give stuff away to make people happy 😊
What I have always liked about Hopescope is her love, joy and enthusiasm for what she does and that was so apparent in this video. Her joy and enthusiasm for every doll and their accessories was fun to watch. She could have kept every doll but what impresses me even more about her is her kindness and generosity in knowing that these dolls need to be loved and played with by children not just displayed on a shelf or bed.
I actually cried so much when you kept Kirsten at the end. :') I've been waiting for this video all my life, haha, thank you for making my inner child happy!
Eu amo essa música, essa batida eyes-pink-heart-shapeeyes-pink-heart-shape Belíssima Sensualidade em cada movimento💜💛🧡💜 Que coisa........maravilhosa ver uma criança preocupado com a preservação da natureza!
Im so happy you kept the doll you had as a child!! Even if she is just kept on a shelf, she will make your heart happy for years to come!! and donating the rest to a kids hospital, so unbelievably generous!! i am a peds nurse, i know so many kids who would treasure such a wonderful gift!! youre a good egg Hope ❤
Being Swedish, I’m so happy you kept Kirsten! During the mid 1800s about 1 million Swedes emigrated from Sweden to America for a better life, and it’s so nice that they’ve included that in their collection! 🥰
@alitzahasdaiTheir name is literally “American Girl” for a reason. Since American history is tied to most of the dolls they probably thought it would not make sense for someone thats not American to purchase. I doubt it would be profitable to sell in other countries anyway.
I live in Sweden and buy these beautiful dolls second hand, usually at auctions. The second hand value is between $50-150 each, depending on which doll it is, the condition and how many accessories are included. They sell for the same prices in the UK too. So yes, there is a strong market for these dolls to be sold new in an AG store here, outside the US. I would rather spend that same money on new dolls available here.
Okay I know I'm a couple weeks late to this but I have some fun facts as a former American Girl employee in Seattle! Each doll takes years of planning and designing before they're launched and they put so much love and care into every story including doing extensive research into and collaborating with each culture they portray which I've always loved about the company. Plus a little humble brag: the author of the Maryellen books, Valerie Tripp, was visiting the Seattle store for a signing in, I believe, 2013 and met one of my old managers, Mary Ellen, who made such a positive impression, Valerie had American Girl name the doll after her! She even had them give her red hair like her namesake! Also one last fun fact about Maryellen, because she had polio, if you stand the doll up, you'll notice one of her legs is marginally shorter than the other. They don't miss a single detail.
I was a model in an American girl doll fashion show as a kid and I was chosen to model Kirsten! My hair was styled with the iconic braids and I was put in two matching outfits. I walked down the runway with the doll too :,) It was such a cool experience!
I remember begging my mom for Kit every time we'd get the American Girl catalogue in the mail. She'd tell me it's too expensive and never bought one (despite the fact she or my dad had spent a great deal of money on expensive gaming systems for my dad). Anyways, it wasn't until April of 2023 that I went to the local American Girl store near where I live with my partner (who convinced me to buy her). We went to the store, I found her in her OG outfit, I grabbed her box and straight up almost cried in line. It was such a healing moment for me and absolutely love her.
Hopefully that will be me one day! I remember getting the catalogues in the mail and begging for one too and never got one but I didn't understand then how expensive they were to my parents, especially in Canadian dollars. I think I wanted Samantha. I really should still treat myself to one as an adult!
@@jessmc6243 When you get the chance I say it will be worth it. I almost cried in the store holding my Kit in the box while waiting in line all giddy. She is the best and I keep her so nice.
It's fascinating how these dolls have evolved over the years. I liked the historical dolls when I was younger and I had so many of the books. I had the original Felicity though I had the mini dolls of Kirsten and Josephina. I wanted another but my mother wouldn't get me any new cloths for the doll either so another doll was out of the question so I just enjoyed the one I had.
I hope and pray that this video blows up so much. Not just because for the amount of money you spent for those dolls, but for the nostalgia and magic you brought to each and everyone one of us with a heart of a child still. Thank you for being a blessing to those children, and to us, too. God bless you!
This is such a heartwarming video! As a 22 year old, you reminded me to never let my inner child die. I love the ending how you donated all (but Felicity) the dolls to a children's hospital. Really heartwarming! God bless you!

This brought back my childhood! I was hoping you’d keep Kirstin! I love how you donated all the other dolls to a children’s hospital. You’re going to make so many little girls so happy.
3:10 I have an American girl doll I have wanted for my whole life and got her when I was 9 yrs old Can you guess who it is? *Kit kittredge!!* And I really want Kristen REALLY BADLY! 11:07 AHHHH IT IS THE DOLL I HAVE!!!!!!!❤❤❤❤❤ but I didn’t get her iconic outfit😢 13:11 my mother had her growing up ❤ (and the doll is now chilling in my nana and papa’s garage
I’m British and so this don’t have the same effect on me, culturally, but the look on Hope’s face when she unboxed Kristen was just so relatable. There are a few toys out there that I would cry if I ever found again, so thank you for sharing this. Very educational and heartwarming and gave me goosebumps 🩷🩷
Back in 2000, our mom would only buy me and my sister two dolls each after much begging, but we had to read all that doll's books first. I got Kaya and Samantha, and my sis got Felicity and Josefina. Reading all the books was actually very fun and interesting. The amount of research they did was astounding, but also the themes they tackled for young girls to read and understand was eyeopening and an amazing way to teach history that young girls might not otherwise learn. Even after, I read the other historical girl dolls because the stories were just that great. We still have the dolls in good condition since our mom would emphasize taking care of them (they were expensive!).
I teared up❤ thank you for not only fulfilling our childhood dream but for your generous donation to the children’s hospital! People like you are the reason I believe in the good of humanity!❤
The best part about you and your channel is the donating of the items you purchase. The kids at the children’s hospital are going to love these! Thank you for being so kind!

Words can not express the feels that this video brought back to me. My identical twin sister, who tragically lost her life in 2022, grew up with American Girl dolls in the 90s and 2000s. We were born in 1988. I still have the original 3, Kirsten also being my 1st doll. Samantha was my sisters 1st. along with several others. We also made our own twins ( who at the time both looked a lot like Kit) in the early 2000s when they still had the American Girl Doll store in Chicago. My nonni would take us every year for our birthday. I still have my dress that matches Kirstens original dress. I know they are worth money, but there is no amount that would ever let me sell the,m. They have brought so much joy to my nieces and still to myself. Thank you for posting this, it let me sit back and remember some of the happiest moments I had as a kid with my sissy. xoxo Jax
It's so nice hearing that you donate the dolls to kids that would probably never even be able to get them and will appreciate them for years to come. Who knows, maybe one of the kids will grow up and reminisce about their first American Girl doll and do a video like this one. My Grandmother got me a custom made American Girl doll when I was little, I had no idea what they were because I didn't play with dolls or Barbies but it was always so special to me.
I still have Samantha (with her OG outfit) and a custom doll from when the options were much more limited. I remember wishing she could've looked more like me and I'm so happy to see so much more diversity and options for little girls these days. This video warmed my heart!
This is exactly what happened to me! I’m mixed and I remember being bummed that none of the dolls really looked like me. Glad to see they’re more diverse now!
I was so obsessed with these dolls. I had Felicity, Molly, and a WellieWisher when I was a bit older. I would make toys for them out of clay and cardboard, my grandmother and my great-aunt sewed me entire wardrobes for them, and I had a few off-brand furniture and accessories. I played all the American girl games, read the books, watched the movies, and got the catalog every month. These dolls made such an impact on me, lol I remembered every single doll from like 2011-2018 so well, because even after I stopped playing with them, I still liked the movies and books
I got my Kirsten doll in 1989. She was too expensive for our family, so I spent a year collecting money from birthdays and holidays so I could purchase her. I still have her and all of the clothes and accessories I collected. My aunt made several outfits, from back when they sold the sewing patterns. My grandpa made her trunk. Even though those things aren't "official", they are more precious to me.
I love so much that you’re donating these primary children’s. Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart as a mom who was so grateful for donated gifts for my son while we have been back and forth to the burn center near there for years. ❤
I never had an American Girl Doll (too expensive for my family), but somehow we were subscribed to the catalogue that would come in the mail. Me and my sister loved looking through it. I remember us being so excited to see Ivy Ling, we had never seen an Asian doll before and we always said that if we could have one that she was the one we wanted. 🥰
I'm an Iranian girl and I regret our childhood, I don't wanna say we weren't happy but I want to say your childhood is so so so different with our childhood 😢 Most of us were worried about money and religion while American girl was learning how to be dreamer and how to find who they really are. Different worlds makes me cry Anyway I enjoyed your content ❤
The collectors watching this are pulling their hair out right now. I had tears at the end when you donated them all it was very moving! The purpose of these dolls were to be played with by loving children and not to be collected for money… I absolutely loved this ending!
No no! AG dolls are meant to be opened and played with. We all open our dolls lol. What is making us pull out our hair is seeing the dolls sitting down. Aaahh!!
My parents couldn't afford the dolls so I used to check the books out from the library. Very kind and generous of you to give that experience to kids who need a ray of sunshine!
Molly was my first doll. I remember doing an entire school project on the importance of American Girl Dolls to learning kid friendly versions of real American events and displaying Molly and her friend for everyone to see.
I think my Kit, Molly, Kirsten, and Jullie are the reason as an adult I love history and in fact I still collect some American girl dolls (Niki and Courtney cause I was a child in 99 and I love the 80s)
Kanani was my first American girl doll, and when you pulled her out, I started sobbing because I remembered being so excited to have an American girl doll as a kid. I remember I circled Kanani in the American girl doll magazine, and gave it to my mom. This video literally made my heart with joy. I also had Emily and I remember loving her hair and the color. My last American girl doll was a look-alike doll as well. This video brought me so much memories that I didn't even think about until now. :)

Tell me why I bawled like a baby seeing Kirsten in your lap driving home!🥲 I always wanted an American Girl doll but it was never a reality. Love this!
HopeScope unlocked so many memories of looking at the American Girl Doll catalogs. I absolutely love seeing all the dolls together, but I love knowing that they are blessings other kids more! What a generous heart!! ♥️
10:38 I have so much respect for the doll makers to highlight the beliefs/traditions of the tribe! This is such a cool bit of trivia to keep in my head 💕
As a now adult who spent most of her teen years in and out of pediatric hospitals this is so cool to see. This is an awesome way to give back. Oh and I'm so glad you kept Kirsten! ❤
When I was little I really wanted one of these dolls but we could never afford them because they were so expensive. I remember we got a few catalogs in the mail and i would sit and look through them and it was so fun. One day i was in our local thrift store and lo and behold there was a Samantha for $5. She wasn’t in the greatest shape, but I was able to clean her up and it was such a fun experience. I still have her and remember fondly of that trip to the thrift store.
I remember wanting Chrissa SO BAD. It was my favourite AG movie as a kid as I struggled with Bullying. I am so so so happy you donated the dolls to children who need a little spark🫶🏻
the end message applies to everyone; even to me bc my “magic” is drawing, my mother would throw away every toy i had away and never let me buy any toys growing up so I resorted to drawing, reading and writing to keep me entertained. watching this video made me relive my childhood and allowed me to be a little girl again. also this video kept me super entertained while drawing so thanks for that too!!!
We used to LOVE when the catalog came in the mail. So fun to look through and dream! I only ever got the books, especially the Samantha ones. But I remember thinking that I loved the name Nellie for a kid someday haha. So excited to see that they made a doll of her too!
Tell me why I literally cried at the end. I'm a month late but I've been watching your videos for awhile now and it brings me so much joy to see you relive your childhood and always making your inner child happy by getting stuff that you dreamed of when you were little. The happiness in your voice and your body language just proves how much it all means to you. Not only to you but for many others as well. So many others who dreamed of having the toys you've bought definetally brings nostolgia. Thank you for being such an amazing human being and content creator 💕
I shed a few tears at the end of this. My family was really poor growing up so I never got an American Girl doll. I was always really sad because all my friends had one and I really wanted one. 🥺 I remember I either borrowed some of the books from someone or the library just to feel included. For some reason I connected with Felicity and specifically wanted the doll of her, but I would have been happy to have any of them. Now that I have a daughter of my own (and another on the way) I hope one day I’ll be able to get them one of their own. 💜
You look like Lila! Hair and all! As a doll collector this made me so happy! ❤❤❤Some of these dolls I have and were never able to get them in box or anything cause it cost too much and I bought them without the box. Also reliving some of my old unboxings. This is so much happinesss!!!!!🎉❤
I appreciate you not recording the kids at the childrens' hospital as you gave the dolls to them 💗 it's nice to see a youtuber who does kind things without shoving cameras in peoples' faces while they do it
Im 16 and i have been collecting ag dolls for ten years. I remember the first time i walked into the store i told my mom “one day i will have all of them” and she laughed. Little did we know i would never grow out of it and i did indeed get all of them 😂
This unlocked so much nostalgia for me. I’m a 2003 baby so American Girls were so popular when I was growing up, but they got more expensive as time went on. My sister and I both had Just Like Me dolls, and then combined we had Kaya, Josephina, Felicity, Elizabeth, Molly, Lindsey, and my last one was Addy. My sister always wanted Julie and I wanted Julie’s room decor 😅 funny story is that my sister and I got Molly and Lindsey from an estate sale and they were both pretty well loved. My Molly had a broken eye that got replaced some time before with a completely different color eye. At first I was upset that she didn’t look like the “original,” despite her being the 1986 original version, but now I wish I had cherished her unique history a bit more 😔 also, because the dolls were so expensive and we had so many already, my mom would just buy us the mini versions if we wanted a new one haha. I remember having mostly all of the best friends, like Cecelia and Marie-Grace.
I used to work for Pleasant Company which was the name of the company in 1986. I own Kirstin, Addy, Molly, Samantha, Felicity, Elizabeth, Kaya, Kit, Josephina, a couple of girl of the year dolls, bitty baby, twin dolls, and maybe more. Plus clothing, furniture, scene settings for Kirstin, hair products, a huge mix of the historical things and the modern things. Yep I love it all and the books! Complete sets of the historical doll books. And many other books!
So glad you kept 1 for yourself. Sometimes you need to have a treat, not just for the body, but for the mind too and if dolls make you happy then have that doll. Hugs to you and Leo.
Im 25 and still love the kit, molly, Samantha, and felicity movies. For being early 2000 movies they were actually pretty great (and of course the OG 6 book series were the best)
I was obsessed with McKenna when I was little. American Girl Dolls were expensive though, so I ended up getting a generic brand doll who I loved named Abby. I would make little objects for her like little lamps, I would buy things off eBay, and would even make clothes for her. It's beautiful that these dolls are going to children who may need a little love from a friend they can play with!

When I was a kid (I think around 2008ish), I modeled as Kit for an American Girl fashion show that was put on every year by the Omaha Junior League from 1991 to 2016. I can still vividly remember getting my hair done and practicing where I was supposed to walk. Getting to put on the iconic Kit outfit with the hat and having pictures taken of it was so surreal. I remember that the girls who were Felicity and Elizabeth had fan props and they had to memorize how different positions of the fan to communicate different messages. This video was such a trip down memory lane for that weekend, thank you!

End part literally made me tear up haha. You are such a sweet person, and giving the dolls away was amazing but it always good to keep that childhood magic alive today even as adults. Amazing video lovely!
I used to have the original Felicity and Addy back in the 90s!!! I loved them so much and kept them up until this summer when my apartment basement storage room was flooded with sewage. I cried for weeks, but they were so far beyond repair with mold from the sewage I had to throw them out. But someone took them from the dumpster!!! I hope whoever got Felicity and Addy in this video loves them as much as I did! Thanks for the walk down memory lane, I definitely cried watching this!
37 year old me definitely cried when you unboxed Samantha and Felicity. I had both in the early 90s and they are still hanging out at my parents house.
27:47 I had Caroline and I loved her so much!! I still have her and she is so pretty 😍 My favorite part about her was how she had curly blonde hair and green eyes just like me 😊 I now realize how much these dolls are worth but I could never sell because of how much of my childhood she was to me.
I legit cried at the last part this was so nostalgic, I never comment on RUclips videos but you have absolutely made my day. Its been a really rough week and this brought some magic back.
Ana literally wearing the shirt I was debating on buying yesterday is hilarious. Incredible work done for this video, I never had an American Girl doll as a kid. I don't think I was very interested in dolls and was more of a tom boy but it's very cool to see how these dolls evolved over the years and seeing you go to the physical store was very very cute. Thank you for all the hard work you do making these videos for us, and for donating so much of the things you buy to good causes.
As someone who has the original Molly and received her as a very, very beloved Christmas gift, I was shocked to hear she's the most expensive and rare. Even so, she's priceless to me and I will treasure her always. Thank you for all you do, Hope! You made some kids very happy.
You can tell the quality on the original 3 are so much better than what they are today. I would have kept all 3 of them and Courtney and Julie, but I know you made a lot of little girls really happy.
Yeah, but they are also cheaper than they used to be. Someone used an inflation calculator and if they kept up with inflation they'd be about $190 in today's money.
So, ever since I was in the second grade, I have been OBSESSED with American girl dolls. But, what really got me intrigued was the books. I was always buying the books whenever I found them and eventually my mom and dad made it a tradition to get me my favorite AG doll of the year, every year for like 4 years, for Christmas. The dolls I have are Tenney, felicity, Josephine, Josie, a boy doll, and willow the Willow the wisher. Some i was able to find at yard sales for cheaper and I would buy them myself, or some were given to me for free by friends. Because of this experience I was able to grow up with, I learned a whole lot about history and other perspectives of life. When I am a mom, I plan to open my daughters to this experience as well 😊
I love this so much. I remember finding the books in my school library around 1987-1988, reading the stories, and falling in love with the original three. I wanted a doll so bad but knew my family could never afford one. I’m so glad I get to live vicariously through you. Seeing your joy and knowing that you are spreading that joy with us and with your local community is incredibly heart warming. Thank you

Just want to share you melted my heart a little when I heard you donated the dolls to your local children’s hospital ❤ as someone who works in healthcare, it was extra special to me that you chose to share the wonder with all the kids that will go through those doors for years to come ❤
I used to be OBSESSED with American Girl Dolls in the early 2000s! I had several dolls that I loved dearly. Funny story, my Mom hired a lady to help us clean out our house and put together a yard sale. She convinced me to sell my dolls and conveniently "bought them" herself before we had the sale. Still convinced that a grown woman scammed 10-year-old me out of my collection, lol.

@RepentandbelieveinJesusChrist.no
I thought the same!

For me, it reminded me of the Toy Story 2 scene with Jessie and her old owner, but this is like the happy ending, not the sad one like in the movie.
No way, I also had Rebecca and a Truly Me doll 🥺
I cried too 😢

My mom used to work at an American Girl factory! Every year for Christmas they'd give their employees a big box of toys and books including the American girl doll of the year and the Holiday Barbie! I remember being so excited every time my mom would bring the box home. I'm getting so many good fuzzy feelings watching this video
That's awesome to get the doll!! ❤
Lucky! I would have died as a kid if this was me! 😂😂🤣🤣
Omg what a dream for a kid!
That is what I would do if I ever had a factory. The worse thing to do would be to work in a factory and never be able to afford the products produced there.
Where is the factory?
I had Grace growing up. I got her from someone who donated the dolls to a children's hospital so this video means the world to me. I was 10 and had my first seizure, died twice, and had to stay in the hospital for a few days after my drug induced coma and they gave me Grace. So, seeing someone make a video about American girl dolls and donating the dolls to a children's hospital makes me happier than anything ever could. Thank you so much for doing this Hope!
Wow, your story made me tear up. Glad you're ok!
@CuteLavender194 I am, thank you ☺️
@@TaraSL8r Me too, things could've gone a lot worse if my grandparents hadn't realized I was having a seizure.
omg all of that happened when you were 10?

I love how American Girl touches upon serious subjects such as Addy’s harsh life, including slavery, and Emily’s life, including her house getting bombed during the war. It’s very important to teach kids about the difficult times in history while including some fun and positive ones, such as Samantha being a wealthy orphan living with her grandmother and Cécile being born into a wealthy family, wanting to become an actress.
Sadly, they are straying away from sharing stories with any meaningful substance to them. Because the little girls these days only care about sparkles and unicorns and bright colors. I will always be drawn to the historical dolls 😢
I love the historical dolls and have Emily and Molly and those two were actually how I begun becoming very interested in WW2 which probably wouldn’t have happened without them
Hey, just a random reminder that you are so loved. Jesus died for you bro, you matter!! Keep fighting, it’ll all be okay. Remember that.
The one with glasses and freckles is probably Molly.
As a European, I knew nothing about these dolls, so this was a very adorable journey! Thank you for all your work Hope!

Haha, same. But seeing Hope being all excited about them is just precious. I remember being in the USA in 2005 and I didn't see them anywhere, though I gravitated more towards trading cards at the time.
They remind me of our, Our Generation dolls but a bit bigger. Way priceier too as OG dolls are similar price as Barbies.
Ahah same, I've heard of the American girl dolls but never actually saw them
I know, I loved this, I had no idea there were ao many and that they all had (tragic) backstories! Thanks Hope! ❤

What I have always liked about Hopescope is her love, joy and enthusiasm for what she does and that was so apparent in this video. Being Swedish, I’m so happy you kept Kirsten! During the mid 1800s about 1 million Swedes emigrated from Sweden to America for a better life, and it’s so nice that they’ve included that in their collection! 🥰
I was going to cry if she didn't keep Kirsten. I still kinda want to because she did. It's so sweet 🥰
@soapcantelopeThis is such a dumb comment. 😭
I love them Felicity doll best.. A great feisty little Irish girl. She just needs a German best friend.
That is so cool!! I need to go check my Maryellen doll now! Thanks for sharing, I love these story’s!!
Sorry this is really recent but, can the doll still stand despite the shorter leg? Sorry if this is stupid but it popped into my mind.
@@randomness4918 She can! The difference is only like half a centimeter or so, so not substantial enough to throw off the balance

Samantha IS TOOOOO Nostalgic! I remember I would get red nail polish, paint her nails over and over again. I’d use some stickers to make bandages!

Hope should insist that she hand gives the dolls to the kids. It's not uncommon for staff to keep good stuff for themselves to sell or their own kids

8:04 THE WAY HOPE SAID IT WITH NO HESITATION- I CANT EVEN 😭😭😭😭
I got my Kirsten doll in 1989.

I shed a few tears at the end of this. My family was really poor growing up so I never got an American Girl doll.
Pleasant Company era was the best! (And best quality.)
I have to ask, how did you get that job! That sounds like such an amazing experience
So glad you kept 1 for yourself. Sometimes you need to have a treat, not just for the body, but for the mind too and if dolls make you happy then have that doll. Hugs to you and Leo.
18:25 that one is like my personality and like right up my ally she’s so cuteeee
John Dough Jon Ray Zeke Franklin Débora Raposo Nick Simonetti how could something so complex like the universe and humans be made from bacteria or rocks or evolution we just couldn’t God made it all we have to be ready no one knows when Jesus will return or when we’ll die God bless u ur never to far to turn back he will never leave u good day he cares and loves u how could the things that people say made the universe get here is there was nothing God made it all so many prophecies are being filled from revelations telling us that Jesus is coming back they are happing right now in the world he loves and cares all u have to do to give your life to God is tell him you believe in him and that he sent his son to die for us and that he rose 3 days late and repent or ask for forgiveness of your sins😊
Hello, I hope you're safe over there? I hope this year brings happiness, prosperity, love 💚 , and peace all over the world . I would love us to be good friends in honesty and in trust so as time goes on it will bring something great for us in the future, hope you don't mind? I'm Doctor Christopher Johnson from San Francisco, California, where are you from if I may ask?
I have 4 of the American girls kit, joss, caroline, and blaire
Omg I wanted Ashlyn Weliwisher
You made some kids very happy.
shes definitely not rare, shes available for purchase through american girls webstite and store, and typically even cheaper on resale websites.
@@haleylibby8171the original Molly is rare and you can’t buy her on the website, only the remake
@@haleylibby8171 the pleasant company one is
Imagine a little girl getting a collector doll. That is so magical!❤
@@abrielle13 I’d be willing to spend more on a quality toy that will hold up over time. The new dolls are cute, but the originals are beautiful.
Thank you
when I was little my mom got me and my sister and cousin an American girl doll and there were two gymnasts and two ice skaters I remember that I had an ice skater but u didn't have it in ur video but it's ok and u didn't have two gymnasts I knew what they looked and I really love ur videos and I hope u see this and comment
Just want to share you melted my heart a little when I heard you donated the dolls to your local children’s hospital ❤ as someone who works in healthcare, it was extra special to me that you chose to share the wonder with all the kids that will go through those doors for years to come ❤
There is no better way to see how fashion was changing over the years than looking at "American doll of the year"
I used to be OBSESSED with American Girl Dolls in the early 2000s!
I had so many American girl dolls growing up❤😊 I was the cool kid😂😂😂
