I really enjoyed your video, especially since the historical dolls are my favorite. I prefer Rebecca's original black coat as well. I think my all time favorite coat is Julie's. I was a girl in the 70s and wanted a purple coat like that so bad! Samantha's white fancy coat is my next favorite. I'm glad I got the ME sledding outfit last month for my granddaughter. I didn't realize it's now retired.

Kirsten's cream and red wool coat is also noteworthy. Actually on of my favourites.

I’m so glad you got Ruthie! She is one of my favorite dolls. It would be interesting if you made a custom Sterling. He plays a pretty big role in the books as a side character, almost just as much as Ruthie does IMO. And I did like him as a character. AG should make historical boy dolls, but I highly doubt that will ever happen sadly. I collect other dolls besides AG, so I received a Maplelea and Gotz doll for Christmas to add to my collection. But my favorite find of 2024 was a fb marketplace listing. A lady was getting rid of her entire AG collection and I was able to pick up a bunch of items including- NIB Elizabeth, Marie-Grace, original Rebecca as well as a bunch of older outfits NIB and Rebecca’s costume chest and butterfly outfit! I try not to get bigger pieces as I’m also limited on space and prioritize dolls & outfits above all, but I couldn’t resist. I absolutely love Rebecca’s collection. I hope you have a great 2025 and find some more amazing pieces to add. You have a beautiful collection!

So I am no 1920s toothbrush expert (unfortunately) but I do have access to a 1923 Sears catalogue and my curiosity was piqued. I found the health and beauty section and there were no hinged toothbrushes in sight so maybe Claudie was just ahead of the game. I can tell you though that toothbrushes were 25c apiece (about $5 today) which seemed a bit expensive until I realized that plastic wasn't a thing yet--all the handles were made of bone! It doesn't say what the bristles were made out of though. Would they be made out of animal hair? I'm not sure! Gotta find a real toothbrush expert for that one.

Congratulations on your outfits Samantha’s outfit is on my list also. Like you I have Kirsten dress and use it with her meet shoes. I do have her beige and white boots for her summer dress. I hav3 Claudies items and love the detail on them.the purple basket is wonderful. The pajamas are nice and can be loungewear I am going to get Nanea original pajamas. Ruthie is beautiful I also love the best friend dolls.

Yes, I was married and went to Hawaii in the 70's and purchased outfits with that same style only a different color. It was popular then. Yes I bought Ruthie this year also, and recently bought off of FB her accessories and Christmas dress. Thank you for sharing.

I think Claudie’s pink toiletry bag is a nod to Addy’s original meet since the author grew up with an Addy doll.

There will always be a huge chasm between what Pleasant and Company did and Mattel does. Barbie came out in 1959. I was born in 1957 at that time you got your first Barbie probably about age 6. My daughter was born in 1984 and she got her first Barbie when she was three I didn’t have much to say about it as they invaded my house with the birthday party girl. I bought her her first American girl doll, which was Kirsten in 1989 so she was five and I thought of the time I was going to change the way that she played what I did unintentionally was set off a very large explosion in our very upscale neighborhood. I saw them as dolls that we would add one by one pick out the things that they really wanted not have to have the entire collection. However, most of her friends families had incomes were literally the entire set came at Christmas or Hanukkah or a birthday, which completely turned it into a what do I have that you don’t situation. certainly not what was expected or probably even thought what would happen with the dolls. OK now enough of that I watched how Mattel had magnificent clothes for the dolls in the beginning and as the dolls in in this case, I’m talking Barbie, they had a twist and turn and bent at the knee, in fact, there are probably some of you reading this who actually remember trading your doll in at Kresky’s or

I really loved seeing Claudie’s travel accessories. Such cute details! I might need to add that and her travel outfit to my collection one day. 😃 We used to play croquet as a family in the summer in my grandparents beautiful back yard. I love that set! Unfortunately when I started with AG collecting in the early-mid 90s, I just threw all of the outfits into a plastic bin. Now I am trying to sort out all of the outfits including undergarments, socks, shoes, hats etc. Some of the items I have no idea what it goes with. I wish someone, somewhere would put together a web site or book showing the outfits completed with close up details of the proper hats, socks etc. with changes through time that came with that particular outfit. Wiki (with the constant pop ups, ugh) and Playthings sites are not detailed enough for me or updated. Sometimes I use ebay to identify items. What do you all think? Does anyone know of a good site to check out? Thanks in advance.

Summer gives me nerd energy and me as in much older person I love that but I don't know that that translates to kids.

I don’t believe the new journal type format is specifically for younger children. They are for ages 8 and up brought up in a visual, video oriented world. The heavy illustrations and fast reading writing style visually brings children back to reading about the characters. AG is a store for dolls and other play products. The books have been overlooked and under read. There are also “I Can Read” leveled readers for younger children for several characters. I also would not specifically recommend Nanea’s books to the young children who may want the doll. It is about the bombing of Pearl Harbor and the United States entry into World War 2. Molly’s books are about World War 2 from a distance. It is more about rationing and women working. Nanea was a closer view of WW2.

It’s absolutely due time for a DOC GOTY, but as long as she’s not white, blonde/blonde-ish and light eyed, i’ll be happy at this point😭

I’m always excited for new historical fashion releases. I didn’t start collecting AG dolls until 2022 and missed out on so much. I like Summer and her rainbows, lol, but her meet outfit is disappointing in the design. If she came in jeans or shorts with rainbow details, that might have been better. I wish AG would release Summer’s friend in 2025 with a new face sculpt. I also wish they would re-release Addy with bangs or update the CYO generator with a bangs option.

I want to read the melody book. I’m sad it was a disappointment for you. Is the beforever melody book the longest version? Or was that abridged? I would definitely want to read the long version to give it a shot.

Did people not wear underwear in the 1700s? I think Kaya should have some panties. It’s not good to undress them on camera. But it’s probably not that big of deal. They aren’t real people, but they represent young girls. At least felicity has an underdress. Samatha has an underdress too. 😊

I love seeing your dolls and their outfits every video 💜 I agree that Nellie looks better in pastels and Samantha in darker tones! My goals are to get all of the classic mini dolls I’m interested in and make their meet accessories. I have a mini Elizabeth from my childhood and made her fan, necklace, and pinner cap. How do you put on Kaya’s Moccasins, and take them off, will be sending her to the care center sometime in the near future, which will require her to be naked.

I'm not a collector, I'm kind of getting into american girl and thinking of getting one doll. I want to read the books of the historical girls and choose the one I like best. Currently I like Nellie best, but I've only seen babbity kate's vidoes of Kirsten and Samantha part 1. It may change as I read the books. I found them scanned as ebooks and I'm excited!

My Wish List: I really want to find Josefina's Harvest Outfit (Brand New) I want two more Molly dolls from the 2010s to put into her Winter Outfit (Slicker, Rain Hat, Umbrella, and Galoshes) and School Outfit. I want two of Emily's Tap Outfits (One just for her tap shoes for my Molly) and another for another brand-new Emily, which I hope to get later next year. I really want a Brand New Cecile. There are obviously more things that I want. LOL.

14:00 if I remember correctly, the top was supposed to be loose, almost kinda bubble like I like to hold onto hope that some of the dresses for the historical girls (especially earlier time periods) are/feel thin cause the makers understood that there were LAYERS of underwear with all the shifts and corsets and petticoats etc

18:09 I think you’re referring to combinations. I found a pattern for AG sized 1920s combinations and I for sure plan on making them for the Claudie I will one day have 😅

I’m honestly surprised that they didn’t do actual Olympic outfits, like the ones from the last Summer and Winter Olympics. Even if it was the same gymnastics, swimming, volleyball, etc outfits as the last one. Was just kinda like “oh…that’s it?”

Thanks for sharing your goals. You have me laughing so often when I watch your videos. In the 35+ years I have been collecting, I have amassed a large fortune in items, yet I have all the dolls but not the outfits. I am planning to scale back. Purchase the dolls with being more discriminative about which outfits I purchase. Having many additional outfits that are bagged/new in the box defeats my collecting purposes. The outfit you placed on Kaya is in a box never used. Seems gluttonous and wasteful in my mind. For 2025, I would like Rebecca's lavender dress and hat, as well as her Seaside Beach outfit, Kits red and yellow swimsuit set (people dislike it yet I find humor when I view it), Kaya's Trading Post and Pow Wow outfits (Beforever), Samantha's Travel Coat and Flower Picking dress. I made the effort to purchase it last week. When I went to purchase, the travel coat sold. That occurs when you attempt to bundle to save on shipping. I have most of everything else, including Bitty Baby/Twins available/retired. Continue as you are moving along. Buy what has value to you, opposed to what is available.

Really enjoyed hearing about your goals for your collection! I got way too many dolls this year but still would really love to get Claudie and Addy next year! I also really want Addy’s Beforever School Outfit as well as Julie’s Calico Outfit. They were high priorities this year too but they’re just so expensive and I’m still hoping to hold out for a deal😅 Good luck with your collection!
