I ordered a heavily used Kirsten on ebay and I'm so excited to give her a refresh like this! Shes going to be my first AG doll and my first doll referb, and couldn't be more excited for her to come in! Thank you for sharing your process, great video!
Next time (if you do this again), I’d suggest a boil wash for her hair! All you need to do is boil some water, put it in a pot/bowl that’s big enough to dunk her hair in, and dipping the hair three to four times depending on how damaged it is. The hot water helps smooth out the plastic fibers and really does the trick. You can even do one boil with fabric softener and/or a bit of conditioner
you just gained yourself a new subbie 😊 love the full grey's anatomy on kristin HAAHAHHAAH 😂 i do hope donor girl is fine after having her arm "sawed off" 🥹 you're hilarious and fun to watch, please do more AG vids and all that you do 😂🫶🏽 also, for the frizzy flyaways, you can dilute some gel with water and spray it on a toothbrush or directly on the hair and brush them down or dunk the toothbrush in the solution and brush down ☺️ honestly makes a whole difference too, love your channel ❤
Hahaha tysm💖 I’ve got at least one other AG video in the works! Great tip on the gel… are you still able to brush through the hair after using that method?
@@janinagans sure thing ☺️ yaaay, excited to watch it 🫶🏽 yes, still can because you aren't directly globbing the gel on her hair, you're thinning it out with water so it's not as strong or as sticky but at the same time, it does the job in holding the flyaways ☺️ you're welcome ❤️
@@janinagans niceee ☺️ can't wait to see the results in the next video ❤️ also a small youtuber here HAGA shameless plug 😂 but my channel is cringe i guess but feel free, i'm trying to learn more ways in editing honestly, i still need help in that dept 😩 but willing to try anything to make my channel better. i guess ik you'll be doing a vid on editing for beginners 101 soon 😉 you'll slaayyyy that 👏🏽🫶🏽
Also, I agree that using a steamer gently on her ends they should smooth out more. Be careful not to blast them with steam too close or the fibers will partially start to melt and have a crimped appearance. They'll be silky smooth but better to do in small increments so not to damage
She could be as new as 2009 because the Pleasant company's neck stamps were on classic molds tail 2009. Does she have a body tag? I heard the 90s dolls have no body tags. Also, pierced ears were introduced in 2008, by the way. That means the owner could have bought her to a store to get her earrings at some point after 2008.
You did a great job, but there is one rule that you should never violate when it comes to AMERICAN GIRL dolls. You are not supposed to use via brush because your hair has oils and your putting the oils into the dolls hair because you used to brush.
Yes, Never dry brush( without spritzing with water) your doll's hair. That's what probably caused a lot of the "frizziness" to bhin with. It's awesome that you did a lot of research and so your video was very informative ❤
I was not expecting you to go full Grey’s Anatomy on Kristin 😂😂 Great job on the restoration, she turned out beautifully!
Bahaha I had to 😆
BEST restoration video
Awww thank you 🥰
the production value on this is insane
Gotta put that film school degree to good use 🤪

So exciting! Did she arrive yet? This one was also my first ag doll and I love her so much!

A steamer is a safer option so it doesn’t stretch the fibers.
So I did boil the water, but I think I let it cool too much before doing the dunk. I got a bit scared about melting her hair 😬
Oh my goodness she's old but beautiful ❤❤❤ and good job on fixing her ❤❤❤ i am personally to terrified to try to fix dolls
Don't be terrified! You can do it too!!
@@janinagans thank you hon I appreciate you

I couldn’t resist 😆 I guess her and I are permanently linked now haha
I guess so 😂
Also always use water bottle to spray down hair before you comb it 😊
