I think everyone, at some point in their life, wanted to be a Halliwell, a Spellman, or Winchester, and it's actually really cool to see at least some influence of actual witchcraft in the movie magic. I've been practicing for 3 years today, and I love learning more about magic and finding out that it's not always as far fetched as summoning fire and levitating books.
The owl house is perfect because it uses sigil like things to command the elements, the actual witches from the demon realm don’t do magick realistically, however Luz the human does. She combines herbs and sigils and the things around her to make magick.
Season 1 of sabrina was the best, the vibes.. spells.. felt like they really put effort in little details. Totally agree with you on how it gets more and more unrealistic. Kind of sad they canceled season 5, very curious what they would’ve done

Most of the spells at Sabrina’s chilling adventures are actually real life ones,that we’ve used and we keep using. The only correction that should be made in the movie is how they pronounce the words in Latin. But most of them are real life spells for many coultures
So I learned something new: I play a game called Sky: Children of the Light and it's about interacting with spirits. Anyway, in the game you use a bell sometimes when you find or interact with a spirit, and I didn't realize that was a witchy thing!

Not that I need that spell now, but as someone with pet tarantulas, I love the thought that they can help in spells. There's so many uses for things that pets provide. Sheds from reptiles, spider moults, faeces, left overs of the insects my tarantulas have eaten etc etc.

For the part 2 i could recommend a not so well known tv series called Something in my Room, is a Thai tv series but you can definitely find english subtitles online, i think it can be pretty realistic, it touches on ancestral veneration, house spirits, divination, protection charms, Thai and Japanese cultures, astral projection etc and it's all revolves around a gay romance between a human and ghost, even if you don't actually put it in the video it's definitely a good show to watch.

One of my favourite witchy movies of all time is Hellbender, which is an indie horror movie. Despite being purely fantastic, it has a curiously "real" vibe to it. It deals with themes of folk magic and self-discovery and the plot is remarkably well written

Furies! For good or ill the OG Charmed was I big part of my teenage years. It's not perfect, but I think it really did a good job of centering women and their stories.

For context the woman screaming right now is a fellow magician with terminal Cancer and because she has important information the order agreed to help her get rid of the cancer by taking it out of her and dividing it up into several people who already have different stages of cancer. The order didn't take them off the street they told the individuals that after the ritual they'd be taken care of until the cancer ate its way through them and their families would be generously compensated for participating. So yes they... Are killing people... But the show's rationality is that they're going to die anyway this just speeds it up... Which is pretty bad IMO.
