  • Here are some of the best foods to eat that fight depression and anxiety. Nutrition is one of the most overlooked aspects of mental health. However, food has a significant impact on our physical, psychological, and emotional well-being. Sadly, if you are struggling with depression, anxiety, or another type of mood disorder, it can be especially challenging to think about what you're eating.
    This isn't to say that you need to overhaul your diet completely. But making minor dietary changes may help ease your symptoms, boost your mood, and improve the quality of your life.
    While no food will miraculously cure depression, adopting a healthier diet rich in certain foods can certainly improve brain function and overall mental health.

    This is all great advice, but the best remedy for depression and anxiety is still exercise. Any kind will work from a slow jog up to lifting weights. Most of the time, just getting out of the house works wonders but elevating your heart rate for 20 minutes or more will have a huge positive impact on your well-being.

      @oooof6861 2 года назад +11

      In my experience, nutritional deficiency was the main cause of my depression. It was awful indeed. But you can get thru it. I haven’t watched this video yet, but in my research I found the most ‘cell friendly’ nutritional sources are from our edible weeds that grow for free in the forests. From the ground directly into your mouth- before the enzymes die off. No pesticides, nor chemical fertilizers, weren’t picked a month ago and stored in warehouses to be transferred hundreds of miles away, weren’t selectively bred over the past hundred years for size and taste at the cost of its nutritional content, and like I said are totally free.
      So watching what you put into your body, highly nutritional plants, minimizing if not eliminating processed sugar, and what you allow into your ears. Be careful what you habitually watch on social media. Purposely start watching those ‘kindness’ videos.
      Stay strong sweetie. You got this

      Not a bad quote, I think it just lacks some parts of the chain reaction. "If you are depressed, you're living in the past; If you're living in the past, your awareness has been reduced; If your awareness has been reduced, your neural function is compromised; If your neural function is compromised, your homeostasis has been violated; If your homeostasis has been violated, you consumed something harmful or failed to consume something beneficial." That comes with the food especially. But usually it is a combination of bad food, external meanness (from people) and unsuitability for the chosen occupation (hobbies, studyings or jobs that you're not meant to will drain your happiness).

      I was so depressed as a vegetarian that I faithfully ate my nuts and dark chocolate every day. But, the only thing the nuts did was make me bloated, since they're mainly indigestible. Chocolate did put me into a mini-fantasy world because it activates opioid receptors, so that was nice. But, it's also addictive,. plus the polyphenols block fat burning, which is the real way to beat depression. Also, both nuts and dark chocolate contain a lot of arginine, and arginine (versus lysine in fish, dairy, and meat) causes viruses, bacteria, and parasites to grow, which is linked to depression and anxiety. The only way I got out of depression was to eat an ancestral foods low carb/high fat diet-it feeds the brain, instead of feeding pathogens.

I don't eat pasta, rice or wheat only small amount gluten free bread and white and sweet potatoes.
    Oily fish like Sardines and salmon helped me. The experts say stabilise your blood sugar and your mood will stabilise also. I agree with this. The first thing to suffer if you don't eat the right foods is your brain/mood.

    I was always overweight since 8yrs old, I coped with food when I'm depressed, anxious which led to insomnia, which obviously led to obesity as lack of sleep raises cortisol and that makes u eat n crave junk. I have been battling this demon ever since and having my own family, I am working out, eating healthy, destressing myself, staying healthy to be here for my son, during my pregnancy I had diabetes and anemia which doesn't help. I am on a keto low carb diet because of this.

    Great advice overall. Leafy greens are just as delicious as any other food. It's only people who don't know how to cook that think they're boring. Cooked the right way and they are delicious.

    If am starting to feel low I mix up some tinned sardines with half avocado and tsp ground linseeds, salt and pepper and some lemon juice. Have with some boiled potatoes or gluten free crackers. Then a cuppa tea and some dark chocolate and walnuts. Great!

    Eliminating dairy was the best thing I did for my health. I went whole food plant-based, but saw the best results after eschewing dairy. It had been poisoning me my entire life. I came off my inflammation and anti-depressent meds.

    👍 I'm glad you mentioned blood sugar. When mine is low; I am miserable, mind races, can't sleep, hurt all over, etc. My mother was type 1 diabetic (brittle). She used candy (i.e. $100,000 bars - favorite) to raise her blood sugar. That doesn't work for me; makes me worse.
    Thanks for the good advice.

      Sounds like your hypoglycemic. Research it. You need a high protein diet with some complex carbs. Treat sugar like the plague as well as caffeine. When sugar enters your body your pancreas goes on overkill and brings your sugar level down. Everytime you do this, result is the same. Please research it. Good luck.
      Also, your adrenal glands take a you know what kicking. Adrenals get overstressed.

      Have you try natural brown unrefined sugar?

    • @republica7337
      @republica7337 Год назад

      @@leconboy1061 that sugar is white sugar with black strap molasses and that's how it gets it's brown colour. Stevia is supposed to be neutral, does not affect spike in sugar level. Allegedly ok for both diabetes and hypoglycemia. I think if one is really sensitive, allergic to sugar, maybe the body treating it's sweetness the same as regular sugar. A hypoglycemic can go into a doughnut store and the smell alone could trigger a reaction.

      @republica7337 Год назад

      @@leconboy1061 yes, wether your hypoglycemic or not. Treat sugar like the plague. Your body will thank you. Try to do a 2 or 3 day fast. Once you come off it, ingest some sugar. See how you feel. See how your mind reacts to it. Even honey, I was told by my naturopath to stay clear of it, benefits and all. Actually as you come off your fast, eat a nice doughnut. See how you feel.
