The driver ran into a building at 3463 Grapevine in the Riverside community of Glen Avon, but was taken into custody. He managed to change his blue shirt to a black one while inside the building but officers still got him. The woman then hopped into another black sedan that had a couple and a baby inside. The sedan had pulled away from the same parking lot, which started the second chase. The second black sedan was eventually stopped in the Colton area. The couple said they were just giving her a ride because she asked. A news photographer told her to give herself up and get out of the car, and she did. Police took her into custody.
The reporter was as bad as they get. Do this, do that, do this, do that, do this, do that...what an idiot. I bet by the time this was done, the pilot wished the reporter was sitting on an ejector seat.

Why do cops always drag out pursuits like, just PIT the suspect ffs. With caution of course, the longer the pursuit, more the public is in risk and danger. The less time it takes to apprehend the suspect the better.

While a PIT can be performed quite easily you have to take into consideration the environment, ie other cars and people and what not that you don't want to come to harm or having destroyed. That's not easy at all... Do you want to get hit by a PIT'ed car? Why not? There's your answer... the cops simply don't want the risk of causing injuries/damage to other people.
the only thing i can make of this "switch of cars" make sense is. the driver stopped at a house to figure out a plan to run, but then was seen by police and drove off. when he got to the big building the driver ran out as the passenger stayed. when the second car came to the area [possible phone communication]. that car picked him up and then turned around to pick up the female. now there is two suspects and a get away driver. the female jumped out to stall the police as the get away driver and the other driver drove off.
no phone communication.. the black car he pulled up beside , and talked to the driver... that was the guy in the car that the lady jumped into the back seat of... he was the get away plan!!
I just watched a ton of video of the Arkansa state troopers dashcams...i tell you all : when they light you up?, just stop.....they will chase you no matter what speeds, roads, upcoming trafic or within trafic. 2 lanes, 4 lanes, interstate , towns...rain, snow....they will PIT you at full speeds....the fastest speed was 115...yes, 115.....and also do not back down on full speed pursuits in towns....almost all pursuits ending in a high speed PIT sending cars flying everywhere.....so, just stop 🙂
I have watched police chases in other c0untries not sure which one but they were shooting the perpetrator from the helicopter.....they do not mess around
The cops let him get away, he out-fooled them. Cam-Chopper made a right pigs ear of it at the end. Goes to show it's always worth going for it. Cops had their chances along the way but blew it.

These long and dangerous marathon chase are not acceptable...nor is tracking mode, when the helicopter looses the suspect vehicle behind buildings or trees, allowing the suspect to escape. Consider lethal force to close down these chases!.

I’ve see some cali chases where even the police helicopter back off to and the bad guys get away and picked in the next state . I have also seen it when they backed off and didn’t make a difference in the bad guy’s driving.
