I love how the camera man kept harping on the fact that it's illegal to pick up the money. Good luck going through that city trying to prosecute all those people and figure out who took what.
Exactly . But what I foresee is that cops will target that neighborhood and mess with anyone who is spending money freely even if they have proof that they just got paid. I forgot what law or statute that some of these jurisdictions have bit they can take possession of your cash if they want to
Better yet, I want to see how they secure every single dollar and put down the yellow evidence markers so that they can go through and have the crime scene investigators take pictures of all of them to document and write a report for each and every dollar! At least all of the ones that the cops don't pocket anyway. Then once that's done they can post up an officer at every single store or eating establishment in a 20 block radius to compare and seize any cash being used to purchase anything. What a joke! So does that also mean you're not allowed to see a penny and pick it up so that all day they will have good luck?

I love your summary! A man threw money 20 times during a chase, which is unbelievable. They’re not bad guys; they’re good Samaritans. They are giving back the money that the banks took from us, just like in the movie "Going in Style." That guy with the silver truck will likely be remembered as the most disliked person in the neighborhood for many years to come.
Ironically, sometimes society needs a vigilante. You’re still a criminal, but the act of “if I can’t have it, everybody is gonna have it” is rare. Justice was served and the guy did some good. I say everything turned out pretty well.

Phillip Ely, 29; Lavelle Mosley, 22; and Terion Lamarr Collins, 25 were charged with four counts each of second-degree robbery and one count each of kidnapping to commit another crime(holding people hostage in the bank).
A fourth unnamed suspect has not been arrested.
Phillip Ely(the guy who threw the money out the window), of Los Angeles, was found not guilty of all charges. Terion Collins and Lavelle Mosely were found guilty for all five counts. Lavelle Mosley, 24, got 33 years and 27-year-old Terion Collins was sentenced to 45 years and eight months.
I cannot find a record of any charges for people who picked up money, but some people did voluntarily turn in less than $1,500 total. That is all that was recovered.
