"2150 to Headquarters". Come on, CHP! Dan Matthews would have had this crook wrapped up by now! 5 cruisers and 3 helicopters circling above and you guys can't get ahead of him and bag him in 15 minutes???
While living there in 2004 there was a high speed chase from downtown Los Angeles up 5 north onto the 14 freeway and onto Ave S in Palmdale and then along Ave S-2 that is behind my house. I stepped out onto our recently added second story elevated back yard deck and I waved. My wife said she saw me waving at the KTLA 5 TV chopper following the chase. I came back in and announced to her that we are moving out of California for any place not in that state. We are now soooo happy here in Nashua NH. Been here 15 years and not missing anything out there. We both left high paying jobs for NASA to get away from the growing and out of control crime there. I have seen some rather impressive innovations in deployment equipment for disabling tires from the side and behind rather than spike strips. It is just a question of money to purchase these working devices since defunding implementation has hit departments hard.
Why on earth do officers risk their lives standing in the street throwing out a spike strip, which usually fails because suspect can see the officer and the strip can't be thrown very far, when they have devices that launch spike strips? The officer can be back where he's safe and not seen, and the strip launches far out across the road. The suspect always hits the spike strip because it suddenly appears and they have no time to react.
@@shreddder999 I came to say this. Those Grapplers are AWESOME! So much safer than a PIT and easier to deploy with less potential for damage to civilians as well as to police vehicles.

They need to design something that would make runaway car overheat and target radiator more than wheels, maybe laser on helicopter or situational spotters with the tool to get ahead of chase but it’s design is only for overheating the engine
Or dropping a sharp heavy steel spike through the roof of the speeding vehicle from a height from the helicopter! That would pierce the vehicle roof & pass through the floor onto the road stopping the vehicle almost instantly!
