I live in Australia so we don't see many of these but when I was driving my truck years ago (well as American's call them 18 wheels) the police called for some trucks that were ahead of this car to fill the lanes so myself and six other trucks drove side by side and we slowed the driver down to a stop and the police blocked him in from behind. It turned out to be a 15yr old kid. He told the police when he come up to the trucks he wasn't going to take them on so he stopped. The kid is now out of jail and is a truck driver. He loves his job and helps the police as much as he can. The police still to this day ask for help from the truck drivers.

Most cops chase don't have heli. So its easier to lose them. When they send the heli, it is harder to lose the cop. But not impossible if you can go under a bridge or tunnel.
