Driver was hoping to delay the breathalyzer test till his blood alcohol level was below the legal limit of .08%, so he can't be charged with DUI.

I went on a high-speed chase just like this in December 2020. Prosecution will contend that you definitely for way above the legal limit. The delays only further reinforce the fact that you we're trying to get the levels to drop. That is what they claimed. I blew out 0.7 on the first and 0.8 on the second

Wow, California surely must have their cops scared of doing their job. The guy stopped in basically the same position he was at the beginning, but they had to let him drive around for an hour to do what they should have done an hour earlier. How does that make sense???
This is the most pathetic excuse for a pursuit by a complete neutered police department I’ve ever witnessed. This is precisely what you get when a police departments policies are dictated by politics and political correctness rather than by a regard for public safety and actual enforcement of the law. What a ridiculous waste of LEO resources.
1. It was midnight in fucking IRWINDALE. There were very few people on the road and risk to public safety was minimal since traffic conditions were optimal and he wasn't speeding or driving recklessly through most of the pursuit. Why risk damaging public and/or private property or possibly even pitting the car into an unseen civilian on a dark residential street (all things have happened multiple times before) if you don't have to?

Well the problem is what happens when it’s not done properly and to the right people as I’ve seen in other videos to a pregnant lady ,and the risk to others around them that are not involved there are other factors to consider other than just doing there job can’t Just risk killing someone’s family and say well we are just doing our job think if if it was your family member.

@rayray8687 it's not just the helicopter crew glitching, the audio from the reporters who aren't even in the heli is glitchy as well.
@@AvaaMax: I believe the glitches are caused by satellite switching which is not likely all that instant in a moving target such as a helicopter. Normally, in a stationary system it occurs about every 4 minutes and is smooth. Anyway, I’m no expert but everything these reporters say is just a bunch of blah blah blah during these chases so I just shut off the sound. The fact is they are watching exactly the same video as you and I and have no more insight into the driver’s state of mind than we do. Just turn them off and enjoy the show!

Ugh. Saw this live for the most part. Just a damn shame how limited law enforcement is in CA to even deal with something like this too now. Thankfully no one got hurt this time, but the opportunity was certainly there.
One thing about the live coverage crew that cracked me up most was they kept saying that maybe the cops were just waiting for the suspect to "run out of gas". Yet they really couldn't identify the car's make and model... let alone if it was maybe an electric or hybrid. Now if that isn't a microcosm of the state of the State of CA, I don't know what is!

If you don't do this as prescribed by state and local laws, policies, and procedures... you'd open yourself up to all kinds of adverse action against you. Would you risk it?
