@@RcWebbo Hey bud it's me again. I finally got my aluminium wheels in but I'm having a HARD TIME finding a matching set of tires for it. Most places have two tires or they only have the fronts. I'm trying to get the Sand Blast tires 915s and the 315s but no one has a matching set. Did your tires come in and where did ya buy them from? I appreciate any info that you can send my way. lol i see we went for the same hop-ups..almost..i have the a-line alloy rims for my scorcher and gold alloy five point hubs for my champ..just ordered replacement coiled shocks from Rc channel for both scorcher and champ..hopefully it will improve things, nice paint job btw, thats one clean scorcher!
cheers mate! you may think im crazy but i took the springs out of an xbox controller LT &RT then took the oil out of the front shocks and dropped the springs in. they work well! im currently looking for rear ones that are long enough, but i have just replaced them with ansman for the moment which also work great.
The wheels ain't touched the ground, sat on a shelf looking pretty. I go to my traxxas monster truck when going to the beach. Much easier to clean up and more durable. Love my scorcher though!
What do you think the top speed is on that car with that nine turn you put on it the brushless system and where you buy those aluminum rims for it? As I mentioned in the other video the one with the monoshock in the back version of this chassis is coming out again this year.
+Kian Tabrizi I had upgraded to a 9 turn brushless but have decided that it was too much power and I am going to put a standard brushed 540 motor back in :-)

@@lukenukem1164 wow, just up the road! Good luck with the build, it was my favourite tamiya build by far. I still got it. Just a little advice, use the stock motor, not the brushless motor as it has too much power for this old boy.

Hey buddy it's me again. Listen I ordered these wheels in your video and when I went to install the bearings in them I noticed the bearings would fall out of the wheels because the hole in the wheel is too big so what I had to do is wrap the bearing with two layers of tinfoil to make the bearing fit tightly. Did you have similar problems with your wheels? I ordered them through rclover.com. I don't know if it was just my wheels or they're all this way. I thought about returning them but these people from China wil not refund you money, at least that's been my experience. Anyway I just finished my model 3/4 of the way now and I put the front suspension together and I gotta say that I'm not too happy with this kit so far. The steering linkage is plastic and one good hit to the wheels I imagine it'll break. If you know any weaknesses that you experience with yours and any remedy on how to fix it please let me know. The ball joints on the front suspension have ALOT of play in them, I mean that front end is very Sloppy. Anyway i'll let ya go buddy. Take care my friend.
Hi William, i didnt have problems with the wheels, thats a strange one. And yes, buying stuff from china and elsewhere can be a gamble. All i can recommend is finding a local hobby shop that may have a bearing that fits, that way you can try before you buy. It is a delicate build, especially the steering but sometimes plastics are a good thing as they take a shunt where as metal parts will just bend or cause trouble and damage something else. Also metal parts are expensive to replace!! Good luck with finishing the build, i know it can be a headache but thats part of the fun!! Lol Thats what they say.....

I fitted black M2 cap head bolts...look way better than silver Philips screws.

Easy 60mph, rc channel I purchased them but that a while ago, ebay is great for picking up hop ups

dont know if u will get this being the thread is a few years old but great hop ups especially the wheels, cant seem to find any alloy wheels 1.5 inch anywhere.Do you know if these wheels are still available?

Just a little advice, use the stock motor, not the brushless motor as it has too much power for this old boy.

Hey buddy it's me again. Listen I ordered these wheels in your video and when I went to install the bearings in them I noticed the bearings would fall out of the wheels because the hole in the wheel is too big so what I had to do is wrap the bearing with two layers of tinfoil to make the bearing fit tightly. Did you have similar problems with your wheels? I ordered them through rclover.com. I don't know if it was just my wheels or they're all this way. I thought about returning them but these people from China wil not refund you money, at least that's been my experience. Anyway I just finished my model 3/4 of the way now and I put the front suspension together and I gotta say that I'm not too happy with this kit so far. The steering linkage is plastic and one good hit to the wheels I imagine it'll break. If you know any weaknesses that you experience with yours and any remedy on how to fix it please let me know. The ball joints on the front suspension have ALOT of play in them, I mean that front end is very Sloppy. Anyway i'll let ya go buddy. Take care my friend.
Hi William, i didnt have problems with the wheels, thats a strange one. And yes, buying stuff from china and elsewhere can be a gamble. All i can recommend is finding a local hobby shop that may have a bearing that fits, that way you can try before you buy.
It is a delicate build, especially the steering but sometimes plastics are a good thing as they take a shunt where as metal parts will just bend or cause trouble and damage something else.
Also metal parts are expensive to replace!!
Good luck with finishing the build, i know it can be a headache but thats part of the fun!! Lol
