Love the video! One of these years I really will assemble my Sand Scorcher. No I will, really! LoL! I wanted one since I saw one waaaay back, waaaaaaaaaaay back. Prolly about the second year of the first release, 1980? Bought one pre-pandemic. Didn't build it. Gave it to a grand nephew for post pandemic xmas, who'd just started an engineering course at Uni. Bought myself another, still haven't started it! 😁🙄😊
Thank you 😃 I remember seeing my first one around 84 but they were too expensive so ended up with a Hornet instead, you will love building it, probably the best part about having one. They don't drive that great but building them is a absolute joy 😁
Great towing combination! Often the vehicle on the trailer is too big but the Sand Scorcher looks absolutely right. Very nice location and some superb action shots.
Thank you, appreciate the comment and view 👍 would like to have ago at making a slightly narrower trailer for it at some point, maybe as a little winter project, always thought it looked a little lost on that trailer
Awesome vid' as usual! ;) Thought I had left a comment last time I watched it, but no... I am so happy to see the Fight' Bugg' rear suspension on the Scorcher... 'cause I guess the Super Champ is on its way 🥰 Great great job on your Scorcher body, I did love the chequered flag on the windscreen's top, gives a "double-vintage" style!
Ah yes you did comment but I deleted that vid along with your great comment...sorry about that, wasn't happy with some of the editing on it, thank you for commenting again on this one 😃 Super Champ/Fighting Buggy is on it's way, always preferred the Super Champ name, don't know why they called it the Fighting Buggy lol
I know that took a lot longer to record and edit then it did to watch, I enjoyed every minute. In the next few months, I'm taking my sand scorcher on 3S/brushless to the coast in Oregon for a lil rip on the sand! Please continue!😎
Hi, it's the Tamiya sand scorcher kit with Tamiya fighting buggy rear suspension and front clip is off a Kamtec VW beetle shell www.kamtec.co.uk/p/kamtec-baja-abs hope that helps, thanks for watching 😃
Awesome SRB and epic footage! I see some trick parts on here like the rear suspension... What is it and who makes it if you don't mind sharing. I just built a Scorcher again and had the original back in the day! A very classic iconic vintage RC, not to mention very cool! ✌️😎👍
Thank you👍, the rear suspension is off my Tamiya Fighting Buggy, did a complete rear end swap, the Fighting Buggy now has the Sand Scorcher rear end, thought the mono shock system looked better on the Sand Scorcher, there defiantly an icon and loads of fun on the sand 😃 enjoy yours, will it be a runner?
Very sweet and seems to work better than the Scorcher setup. I have run mine but I set it up with a 3950kv motor on 3's and it wants to hurt itself lol! It has very lil run time on it but it's a blast to run.
new to the game of sand scorchers, any hop ups you suggest? im still looking into hex nut adapters to use rc4wd rims and tyres for a more mad max style body i wanna do later down the road
Hi and thanks for watching/commenting, as for upgrades if you're going to be jumping it possibly look at getting a alloy chassis especially if you are going to be putting the time in doing mods to the body, the original chassis is very flexible which can end up cracking the shell at the front mounting point, also adds a bit of low down weight to help keep it more planted. Other than that just run and enjoy. They' re great fun 😃especially when you get them on some sand
@@wheelie642 The gopro 8 and above have what is called boost stabilization which keeps movements smooth as long as you have good light, if it's getting dark or is a very cloudy day then it doesn't work so well then you would attach the gopro to a gimble which will keep movements smooth
that tow rig is a beast , trailers got no option !!
Thanks, it did well really should use it more just sits around gathering dust lol
what an authentic thunderfbird scene!
Thank you 😀

Great video. That was scale mastery. How did you get the long straight driving shots at such fast speed? Loved the recovery! 👏
Thank you 👍 just ran alongside it as fast as I could with a gopro on a gimble trying not to trip over it or stand on it lol, thank you for watching 😃

@@RCScale76 sweet, im currently lookin at one but its well over £100, then again it is machined and made to look like a vw chassis
@@_blood_moon_proto_1500 Yes I've seen them, they're very nice, look really scale, was going to get one but went for the cheaper option lol
@@RCScale76 aye, either way, im currently considering whether or not to do a v8 interceptor style paint job complete with siren
@@_blood_moon_proto_1500 Mad Max Scorcher...I like the idea of that👍 and something different from all the other Scorchers out there
What did you use for a chase vehicle?
The chase vehicle was me 😆 ran along side it as fast as I could with a gopro
@@RCScale76Maybe I don’t know how those cameras work but the picture is so steady. Not at all like you are running with a camera.
