Given the disease-ridden state of social media these days, I don't find it's a negative to not be on Facebook, Twitter, etc. It's one less thing for the employer to worry about.

Updating/reviewing my social media is my big take-away. I usually spend more time on one or two of them.

Great tips, just overwhelmed a bit right now with all of the different ideas to keep in mind!! I to have been out of the job market for a while to be a caregiver. I feel like everyday my skills seem to demenish and even with my amazing flexibility and background experience, l am continually getting passed over.

I'm disappointed because I have a dream company where none of the employees on their marketing team have accepted my LinkedIn requests to connect. When I reached out to someone in their HR, she said she didn't have the bandwidth to connect. Ugh!

Very informative video. I am 62 years old. I have been in accounting in most of my career. I am taking care of my 92 year old mother. I was with SCSEP through AARP. It was a good program. But I would like a contract or remote job to use my accounting skills. What would you suggest, Professor Austin? Thank you.

Hi Ken! Thanks for watching. Remote work sounds like a great fit for the situation you're in. You should be able to find something fairly quickly especially in accounting. What is your ideal job title? Also, have you pinpointed your target companies? This would be a great place to start.

@@ProfessorHeatherAustin Thank you Professor Austin for the great advice. I would like to target freelance companies that specialize in accounting. I am searching for those companies but if you could recommend a good reputable company I would greatly appreciate.
