Yeah, that carbon buildup in that EGR tube sticks right at the top end of the tube and in that 90 degree bend at the top. For me it was at around 240,000 miles where it clogged and hardened in the tube. Had to take a screwdriver and clear out the chunks of carbon buildup before rinsing with cleaner.

last year, I change the EGR valve on Mom's Voyager w/ 3.3L. Very easy to, I am going to still your combustion cleaner idea if I ever need to remove the upper intake.

Great videoJ.T.! And you are too cool mentioning me and the channel. I should have a sack of 3.6 L videos as wife bought a 2014 Grand Caravan. As for the Champion plugs, my boss’ van had over 200,000 miles on his original plugs. I only changed them because they had over 200k miles on them. (Was changing oil filter cooler housing so was already there!)

Jt when we give people the printout with the code I
always point out that it says most likely solution.
I tell customers that the code is a starting place and suggest they do more research. Michael

So all the stuff that cleaner took off gets sucked in on the first start on brand new plugs? It didn't magically disappear into thin air,so it must flake off and get sucked into the cyclinders, coorect? I'm not sure that's a good idea, what say you?

What are your other options my guy? Just leave there and let it cake up. Do you understand carbon that build up on valves could cause even more problems than a mere start after cleaning soak on your new plugs. Or you can do the combustion cleaning b4 you replace the plugs. But who has that kind of time?

@OnlineMechanicTips other options are any fuel additive cleaner, that works while the engine is running. No way is soaking that stuff and letting it creep into an engine and letting it sit there is good. At least 1 if not more of the intake valves is going to let that cleaner into the cylinder and let it just sit there. Who knows what that highly corrosive cleaner is doing to the top rings or the cyclinder wall while you put the engine back together. Sorry JT,I think you've got lost into the selling" Mopar products" a little too much and using the so called knowledge of years of experiance.
