    Joe over the years you’ve single-handedly built up my entire training and nutritional philosophy. You show that getting in great shape for life can actually be enjoyable, and not confined to a life in the gym on a perpetual diet of egg whites and chicken. This vid was a great summation of this.

    honestly just watching/listening a fitness video a day hypes my motivation up, not everyone will have time for it but even just watching a chill video talking about consistency will make you more consistent without any specific numbers in mind. its just so important to have the right mindset as that's really what motivation comes down to

    man, can't say enough about how much I appreciate your content. even keel, reasonable with balanced, relaxed advice. so glad I landed at your channel as I get closer to recovering and starting over from bike injury a few years ago and a decade of breakdancing. imbalanced / inconsistent / improper "training" and the slippery slope of "ah I just gotta keep what I got" as you said. 'ppreciate that it never feels like you're leaving out the most important parts! stay safe out there!

    Thank you Joe, i really can relate to every point!
    Tracking calories sucks, so I stick to what I know works for my body/regularly prep, i 'prepay' and do harder/longer workouts if I know I'm going to have a big night/event and I definitely do more NEAT if I know I had a heavier meal that day.

    I've been losely following a similar structure, I'm by no means anywhere near as fit as you but I've been working hard to get to a point I can be happy with and maintain. The first thing I noticed that had the biggest impact was sleep & routine.
    Truly deserves a 1# spot.

    Thank you for your very down to earth video. I turned sixty this year and I have been working out all my life, always listening to my inner voice as far as food, as far workout and its intensity are concerned. I can support everything you say. Thank you so much from Germany 🇩🇪. PS: Stretching becomes even more important the older you get. That contributes to a stable mental condition and to better sleep as well as it relaxes the body. For me, meditating in the morning and in the evening added a lot to my quality of life. And the combination of a classical workout with thirty minutes of yoga afterwards does wonders.

  • @danielkaniowski5694
    @danielkaniowski5694 2 года назад +4

    Going with the flow is definitely a great tip, I found where I’m not that motivated to stick with a plan I just go in and do a ‘bare minimum’ of one exercise per muscle group - maybe throw in some new exercises to mix things up and usually that keeps in interested and usually leaves me wanting to get back into the swing of a programme. No use of forcing yourself to do a full on workout if you’re not feeling it - it’s not gonna be an optimal workout regardless when you feel that way

    Good video, and very relevant for those of us that are in the intermediate phase. Motivation is critical to keep going, but it ebbs and flows. Your "Keep it Simple" approach is literally simple to adhere to, but is certainly not slacking off. Gains are still to be made, but this is a marathon and there's still far more to go before we drop dead. There is logic in seeking the middle ground.
